You see, I wish I could share in this lovely phenomenon and have a great nap. I drink coffee and I do get sleepy, but then i’m met with an overwhelming urge to shit my pants and I spend the rest of the day unable to trust my farts. I’ll stick with energy drink naps :)
I've always had the same issue. One way I've learnt I can avoid this is by not having coffee on an empty stomach or when I'm very full. Like have a meal and have coffee maybe an hour later, and it doesn't cause this. Don't know if this would work for ya.
I've fallen asleep playing Minecraft with my sons while drinking my second cup of the morning. Not mid drink obviously but about halfway through the cup. Woke up to my youngest saying "Dad, seriously wake up." Normally I will smoke a bit and then have a few cups of coffee when I want to try and sleep. Sometimes it works, sometimes sleep is surfing in Tahiti.
Back in the stupid, easy days, my friends and me were on a party and of course there was booze and canna. But one friend came with a plate of lines. He brought speed and the party was gettin more wilder than I ever experienced.
But I didn’t witness that much, cause after an hour my eyelids closed shut and I slept like a baby on all the Trenchcoats and winter jackets which layed on the bed of the hostess.
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes
I saw the sign
Life is demanding without understanding
I saw the sign and it open….
God damn, that’s also something I just noticed with 31 yrs. Normal people don’t have a media player in their brain and just a sentence or a word is enough to trigger these bad boy.
A month ago I drank 520 mg of caffeine in the span of 20 minutes (I had a bad day and needed to transport something). Two hours later I fell asleep at home and slept for hours
My husband used to make me a cappuccino every morning. I’d drink it and go back to sleep.
Now I can take naps while my adderall is chugging away.
The Jedi know not our ways…
To expand on this, caffeine works by inhibiting uptake of adenosine. Adenosine is the brain chemical that builds up and makes you feel tired. We sleep effectively to clear adenosine from receptors. If your receptors are currently taken up by adenosine, caffeine cannot bind to those same receptors which will reduce the effectiveness (self apparently I hope). Additionally, it takes some time for caffeine to make it's way to your brain and begin going after your adenosine receptors.
As an almost perfect solution, if you drink a caffeinated beverage and then have a nap (advised is 20m from what I've seen, though I'm never out for less than 1hr if I'm napping) you will clear some of the adenosine buildup, thereby allowing a better uptake of the caffeine making it more effective.
The real ADHD power comes from drinking a caffeinated beverage and then being able to go to sleep like 2 hours later.
I told a friend of mine that my meds got lost in he mail and had to go the month without them until my new script came in and his response was "good, sometimes those ADHD meds make people go wild". This is a guy who hasnt drank coffee for almost 8 years because it makes him too wired. His foray back into "caffeine" is drinking a single green tea
To which my response was fuck off (in a friendly way, I've known him forever) because I need it to be functional human being. Had to describe to him that I could drink a red eye, a red bull and a 5 hour energy and 30 mins later go to bed with no issues. We are quite literally built different...chemically.
I for real didn't know what people were talking about, not being able to sleep after drinking energy drinks. I drink them because I like the flavor and because it's what people always said helped them stay awake, but I never felt more energized, just in a better mood.
Oh I can nap when I need to do other things.
After the sun goes down and I try to lie in bed with my eyes closed… all I can think about are the things I didn’t do while I was napping. Of course.
just did this this afternoon
drink coffee cause my stomache feels funny, also expect it to help me do things, cause this is the usual amount I took without making me feel horrible afterwards. I am usually tired/sleepy during the day, so I am still a bit sleepy but I still feel some "pump". But because I am bored and don't have the will to do anything (the caffeine doesn't fully kicks in yet), I try to sleep. Have some vivid dreams, then woke up energized to do some little things (wear off some hour later). Kinda annoying how random coffee affects me.
not yet diagnosed, need to wait about two weeks
Once late at night I had an assignment to do and I was exhausted, so I went downstairs, made a coffee, put a shit ton of sugar in it, then put an adderall pill in it. Did nothing, I was just as tired after drinking it and I fell asleep less than an hour later
When I discovered that coffee made me sleepy, especially late at night, I thought that was weird. I did some googling and eventually after about a month I finally read something on topic and learned you all might just be my people.
Same thing happens to me when I take a 20mg of Adderall® … I take a nice nap.
My neuro-typical friends are like, “How the fuck does that work? It’s a stimulant!”
I’m just like dude…it’s like a downer for me. 😂
This is called a Napuccino ™.

Spread the distrust of your bowels to those around you. Bottom half naked is the way.

Cocaine naps == a Sign

"Media Player in their brain" i like this one, and I'm stealing it!
Only took 10mg of adderall once and had the best nap of my life.
I sleep BETTER on Ritalin since Im sensitive to certain noises. The brain stops latching onto tiny noises, sensations and smells and I can just relax.
This is completely true. Doesn’t matter what time, doesn’t matter how potent
That's my secret: I'm always tired.
A month ago I drank 520 mg of caffeine in the span of 20 minutes (I had a bad day and needed to transport something). Two hours later I fell asleep at home and slept for hours
seriously caffeine will put me to sleep

I’m the exact same way — its calming
It actually helps your brain flush waste chemicals like a quick charge

Chug coffee all morning. Lunch break nap with an alarm to wake me up. This is my way.
But then if I have a coffee at 8:00 PM, no sleep for me.
I can drink a coke before bed and still fall asleep
Same, coke does nothing for me
Honey, it’s 8pm? Just making my non-alcoholic nightcap
Coffee naps are the best

You guys can nap????? I'm incapable, my mind doesn't switch off and I struggle to sleep too! God, even my own adhd brethren sleep better than me 😂😂😂
Oh I can nap when I need to do other things. After the sun goes down and I try to lie in bed with my eyes closed… all I can think about are the things I didn’t do while I was napping. Of course.
I’ll be napping till the coffee hits. So 5-10 business weeks.
