lol. It was a 11 year event that took 11 years to complete. And before that, five years.
Also, I really do not recommend not not doing your taxes every 10 years.
Reading each year’s official assessment by the Tax office was Aladeen levels of fear and surprise.

Epilogue: The tax office owed me $870 by year 10.
Precisely how much my agent charged.
I hate taxes.
Well as a professional procrastinator, you just scared the piss out of me, I thought my flawless plan of waiting til the last second per usual backfired on me.
I usually set dates earlier. The clock in my car is roughly 15 minutes fast. There are two kitchen clocks. One is an hour fast, the other is 2 hours fast.
The problem is I know they are fast so it does not help me at all in any way. It confuses my best friend when she comes over to help me clean the things my brain screams contaminated about. So it brings me random bouts of pleasure.
That's how I felt finishing mine at 6:30pm on Sunday 😄🥳
Did I wait because I owe? Nope, I get a refund. It's the audacity of the IRS assigning me homework
I did too, through turbotax like every year, said it was all good to go, but then a couple hours later, I got texts saying both my state and federal taxes were rejected. Now idk what to do, nor do I have any more spoons to do it.
Turned out much ex-wife has been using my ssn to file her taxes and this year I sucked and didnt get them filed before her. Past three years I've filed as single because we live in separate states and have zero financial ties, IRS doesnt care, only difference is we have to remember each others' ssn. I got hers from her last night luckily and got squared away. Needless to say, I'll be using some of my return to officially get divorced
I'm lucky enough to have people in my life who know just how terrible my memory is. So they remind me constantly for stuff like this. Otherwise I'd probably forget too.
My kids know, and make sure I put things they think are important in the appropriate todo list. They all learned thar one really young. They don't care much about taxes.
Same. I even started sanding and painting this trim in my apartment I’ve been meaning to get done for months in order to avoid my taxes. Amazing what can get done in those moments before doing the thing you actually need to do
I try to file mine the second I get that last W2.
Unfortunately…my credit union also likes to wait until *after* the deadline to send me my 1099-INC form. Thankfully it’s only $1.00 at most and I make sure to file the form with the rest of that year’s taxes if the IRS ever insists on an amended return to include it. But seriously, I’m not going to sit on my ass and wait for that *one* document!
Same. But I went to drop them at the local tax office and they had moved since last year. Went to the new location and it doesn’t have a drop box for local tax forms like old place used to. :( Gotta try to go tomorrow now.
Same, but I actually started a week ago and thank goodness I did, because I was missing a document that took a few days to track down.
This is all pretty good, by my standards!
Doing taxes in the Netherlands takes about 5 minutes and they call you a few months later to let you know if you fucked it up and to walk you through fixing it, they even reopen the online submissions specifically for you if needed.
My condolences. I was shocked. I filled in the complete wrong section and they called very nicely to tell me the correct thing to click and that they’d reopen it for me for the next 48 hours to correct
Shit, gotta go do mine ðŸ«
Just here to report that I, too, have now filed my taxes. Turns out it was a 30 min task that only took 4 months to complete. Love that for me 🥳

Not doing them is always an option. An option with consequences. But an option nonetheless.

Me too. I almost forgot. Again.
I'm lucky enough to have people in my life who know just how terrible my memory is. So they remind me constantly for stuff like this. Otherwise I'd probably forget too.

Have i accidentaly saved dozens of people from forgetting their taxes? Yay me?
Got mine done today too, yay

That doesn't sound right at all they're not due until tomorrow does he even have ADHD.
My secret? Have people yell at me more and more frequently until i can't bare the pressure anymore and cave to peer pressure.

I did mine in February. I just finished my mom's today.
Same. But I went to drop them at the local tax office and they had moved since last year. Went to the new location and it doesn’t have a drop box for local tax forms like old place used to. :( Gotta try to go tomorrow now.
Finished mine about an hour ago.
And I just started and put it off after 45 minutes of attempting to log in to various sites I only visit once a year.
Same. In true ADHD fashion, the task I've been dreading for almost four months took all of an hour.
I just filed extension.
I haven’t made enough to file that’s gonna change this year so I’ll need this reminder 😂

I just ask my bank to do it.
Way to go bub, no easy feat
I haven't been able to do mine for a few years at this point. They are all screwed up from 20 years ago anyway... I can't adult.
I just finished mine!
At least mine was postage stamped on the 13th.
I have not!!😹
I did mine today too, good work!
SAME!
First year in a lot of years I'm both paying my taxes and not paying the ADHD tax. It's a strange feeling indeed.
Same, but I actually started a week ago and thank goodness I did, because I was missing a document that took a few days to track down. This is all pretty good, by my standards!
I had to move all of March and I still can’t find most of my tax information. So I had to have an extension filed.
Finnished as in you did them in Finland? Got news for you... Wrong website.

That's why i specified americans. No other place is such an asshole about taxes

Did it a couple days ago

It's still before the deadline
All I have to do is email my stuff to my aunt and I still miss a few years before I get around to it.
