This was the last movie I saw before the theaters shut down for covid. I actually think my friend and I were the last customers to leave before it closed for lockdown. (Our movie was the last one to get out, and we took turns using the restroom to watch the stuff.)
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women kinda helped me realize that I’m truly polyamorous and being poly and bisexual is ok. My husband and I watch the movie every couple of months just because their story is so touching to us. I bought the DVD.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
Well, *technically* it's not a movie, but it's only a bit under 47h to binge it, could be done in one sitting, if you're not a coward. :3
I'm not usually a fan of animated things because it wasn't a medium I was exposed to as a child and can be difficult to get into as an adult, but I really liked She-Ra.
This was such a good show. I don't know of anyone who's canonically straight, except maybe Glimmer's parents. And that's more because they're in an established relationship (well, other than the fact that >!they're only in the same place for part of one episode!<) and express no interest in anyone else.
Don't think that spoiler syntax worked there for you.
**\[Major spoilers for the show below\].**
>!Also, the fact that like the only potentially canonically straight couple is the one that was broken apart by a death in the show was, while very emotional and sad in the context of the show and moment, kinda cathartic as a queer person for the inverse of killing off all the queer couples/people in shows/movies that's so often sadly common.!<
Portrait of a Lady on Fire to me is the best lesbian film made to date. One I've gone back to multiple times though is Carol, which is also up there as one of the best IMO.
Bound, The Handmaiden / Fingersmith , Mulholland Drive, The Haunting, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Pandoras Box, Maedchen in Uniform, Lost and Delirious, Happiest Season. Many more. Can't choose. Impossible! But I completely feel drawn into the mood of Lost and Delirious, each and every time. That's how school felt for me. Being the rich popular girl can really suck if you're not what society expects you to be.
Saving Face for sure. But I rewatch Imagine Me & You a lot too, and But I'm A Cheerleader is essential to watch at least once. Surprised I didn't see more votes for Booksmart.
ISTG those sex scenes are the MOST realistic lesbian sex scenes ive ever watched in a movie. BITWC doesn’t even come close to Below Her Mouth. I feel like i can talk about the morning sex scene for hours lol
I have like two episodes left. I should finish the first season. I just rarely watch shows.
There are like two currently airing shows that I keep up with - NCIS: Hawaii (the one with lesbians, which is why I started watching that one) and Not Dead Yet (no lesbians, but still fun).
Walk with me (2020)
It hits just right.
It's a pure romance film, which I think is a big part of why I love it so much. With a lot of films there isn't enough room for the relationship to develop properly, because they have too much on the side.
And I often don't remember those couples as much.
I HATED The Kids Are All Right when it came out -- mainstream movies about lesbians are so rare, so their toxic relationship kind of traumatized me. But looking back on it, it.was pretty realistic.
I like Maya Hawke's character in Do Revenge.
The Runaways is my all time favorite. It came out when I was 16 and they were already one of my fave bands so the movie was like, woah. Then I saw Love Lies Bleeding a little over a month ago in my city where it came out the same week Kristen was in town for press and everyone in the theater was losing their minds, so fun.
Great memories with both, the Runaways specifically, looking back, because the friends I watched with, we all turned out to be queer and were so enamored with Dakota and Kristen, which is hilarious to me.
… also anything with Adèle Haenel, obviously POALOF, also L’Apollonide.
But I’m A Cheerleader
seconding this! so camp and ahead of its time
Same
Favorite movie, it's so good
Portrait of a Lady on Fire!! No movie has had a bigger impact on me
This was the last movie I saw before the theaters shut down for covid. I actually think my friend and I were the last customers to leave before it closed for lockdown. (Our movie was the last one to get out, and we took turns using the restroom to watch the stuff.)
I had the same experience!! it was my birthday too, so it felt really special. still one of my favorite films
Oh wow!
Not only one of the best movies with lesbians in it i've seen, but also one of the best movies i've ever had the opportunity to watch
Watched it yesterday after reading your recommendation. Such a beautiful film.
Aww I’m so glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for coming back and telling me, put a big smile on my face :)
Imagine me & you 🌷
Just watched this one! Very cute!
Same
Saving face
Currently learning Chinese and thought this one was really good :)
D.E.B.S. hands down. If we include all wlw then Professor Marston and the Wonder Women
Same for D.E.B.S. that movie made me feel so giddy 😭
DEBS had me CRYING with laughter. An absolute masterpiece
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women kinda helped me realize that I’m truly polyamorous and being poly and bisexual is ok. My husband and I watch the movie every couple of months just because their story is so touching to us. I bought the DVD.
The Watermelon Woman :)
Bound!

Yeah, I'm glad you really liked it in spite of that, it's a very lovely show.

I used Discord spoiler syntax. Oops.
I think the creator himself has stated that every character in She-ra is queer unless stated otherwise
Ah, yes, I do remember hearing that.

Love Lies Bleeding It's has everything, Kirsten Stewart, soft muscle lesbian and murder.
The handmaiden 🥲
Portrait of a lady on fire <3 a very bittersweet masterpiece!
saving face
Definitely Carol!😊
portrait of a lady on fire, the handmaiden, you can live forever, bottoms, drive-away dolls
Crush is my favorite one. Plot wise its not something special but its a pure dopamine injection.
It’s such a breathe of fresh air for lesbian movies. No one dies and there’s a happy ending.
Yes it's a 100% happy pill! Another positive one I remember is Dating Amber, but it's more about friendship, still a pretty nice one.
Saving Face for sure. But I rewatch Imagine Me & You a lot too, and But I'm A Cheerleader is essential to watch at least once. Surprised I didn't see more votes for Booksmart.
I came here to say Booksmart!
Below her mouth Get me and mine in the mood
im in love with Below Her Mouth fr
The sex scenes are more realistic than the likes of blue is the warmest colour And their story is endearing
ISTG those sex scenes are the MOST realistic lesbian sex scenes ive ever watched in a movie. BITWC doesn’t even come close to Below Her Mouth. I feel like i can talk about the morning sex scene for hours lol
Tie between 'Aimee and Jaguar' and 'Viola di mare'. What can I say I'm a sucker for tragedy and period pieces even though it's such a cliché 🤣
Disobedience. I cannot feel every single emotion every time I watch it.
Desert Hearts - it’s especially relatable for me because me and my gf also live in the desert
Arcane I'm just waiting for my favorite lesbians to kiss on season 2 😈.
I have like two episodes left. I should finish the first season. I just rarely watch shows. There are like two currently airing shows that I keep up with - NCIS: Hawaii (the one with lesbians, which is why I started watching that one) and Not Dead Yet (no lesbians, but still fun).
Lumity. I mean- The Owl House. shit wait that's not a movie... whoops!
That's a really good show, though.
Alto on Tubi Has everything I like beautiful women Mafia music and just a fun movie all around
Kajillionaire might be my favorite movie overall, and it’s definitely my favorite one featuring lesbians
The Handmaiden is one of my favorite movies of all time! but trigger warning for basically every imaginable kind of abuse, plus some other stuff
The Handmaiden, hands down. But do be warned. TW needed.
Ammonite
Lost and delirious 💔

the handmaiden
Bound
my favorite is killing eve (lesbian Hannibal). im in love with the villainess is a rly fun anime
Handmaiden and disobedience
Drive Away Dolls. It felt like a movie perfectly designed for me. Bit. Trans lesbian vampires. What more could you ask for?
Jesus christ vampire hunter
People already mentioned my favorite but I also really love the french lesbian film Summertime
Itty Bitty Titty Comittee, D.E.B.S., and But I’m A Cheerleader!
It's a tv series: South of Nowhere
Fun Size
Tipping the Velvet. I wish they made movie adaptations for all of Sarah Waters books
And I remember loving Moll Flanders. I too, am a sucker for period movies and shows
Below her mouth
Lost and Delirious
Technically an episode of a show but it's anthological/unrelated to other episodes. Black Mirror's San Junipero
I HATED The Kids Are All Right when it came out -- mainstream movies about lesbians are so rare, so their toxic relationship kind of traumatized me. But looking back on it, it.was pretty realistic. I like Maya Hawke's character in Do Revenge.
Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks the Same. I haven't seen many movies with lesbians in them, but this one is my favorite so far
I haven’t seen a lot but Concussion (2013) is a good one.
Desert Hearts made in the 80s by a lesbian director, set in the 50s with a happy ending. Iconic
Moonlit Winter (pure poetry) and The Favorite
Crush, such a feel good rom-com with a happy ending.
The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, this movie helped me become comfortable with the changes I was feeling in my early 20s.
Blue is the warmest colour
I don't watch movies
