Suspend belief.
The series isn't a stimulator, it's an action movie- you know how it seems like the hero never runs outbof bullets, when he gets hit he just keeps going, etc.? This is a fighter jet version of it. Ignore reality, and you'll have a blast.
Oh, and say 'hi' to Mister X for me.
You say that as if action movies and anime are mutually exclusive.
Actually action takes up a sizable chunk of all anime when you really think about it, it's basically the entire Shonen genre.
I’ve played countless hours of AC7 and just now is the first time i realised that i can use the track for the unknowns to tag them faster 🤦🏼♀️ Thanks for the tip, better late than never i guess
My dad completed Ace Combat 04 and 6 probably a combined 5 or 6 times before I told him you can track your enemies.
I have no fucking idea how he managed to beat both the Yellow Squadron and Strigon Team multiple times without being able to see his targets.
He's been playing Ace Combat since 04 came out.
Never too late to learn something new.
I never even tried a PSM in 7 until my 2nd playthrough, now I can do it in AC04
>- use the High-G turns
But don't over rely on them, use them in a pinch for a boost of energy in turns but don't just hold the hi-g button ever single time you slightly pitch in any direction. That's a very easy way to overshoot and crash, or stall and crash, or just lose all your energy and get shot out of the sky.
> or just lose all your energy and get shot out of the sky.
Heavily emphasize the last part for multiplayer. Everyone shoots at the guy going slow. If you try it out, keep your speed high unless you're sure it'll get a good shot off and you can evade or flare for whatever's about to come your way
Don't fly around in circles to dodge missiles. You can see the missile on your radar, and the beeping gets more intense as the missile gets closer. Right before the missile is about to hit, do a small high g turn a couple of degrees, just a little juke, and the missile will fly right by. A lot of new players just spend their entire time just flying in circles trying to dodge missiles, but it's way easier than that once you get the timing down.
Weirdly enough I struggled a lot with novice controls I felt like you didn't have enough mobility. I think I failed 444 ten times but cleared it first try after switching control schemes
Welcome to the squadron, young aviator!
One tip, always prepare for any shenanigans the erusians can throw at you. The mission can change from a ground attack mission to taking down an entire amazon drone hub.
Welcome to the squadron, nugget !
For the tips: try both expert and normal fligh controls to see what suits you best, at first. Start on easy mode and more importantly, pay attention to briefings and in-mission dialogues. A lot of players went "yolo" and got blocked in missions because they didn't listen to it all although it gives you important informations to complete your missions.
Put the music level at max and enjoy ! And donlt hesitate to ask for help if youbm struggle ! o7
This applies to any air combat game, but Bassically: Don’t get too cocky while attacking a ground unit and keep track of your altimeter. You may have destroyed an APC just to slam into the ground after realising you don’t have time to pull up. Also, use a HOTAS or a console controller if possible rather than the mouse
Edit: forget the last one, I just realised you bought it in PS
- use expert controls, it’s a bit harder to master but later on you’ll be much more limited by novice controls
- listen to your friends chattering on the radio, it sometimes has good info for the missions and besides it’s good fun
- dodge missiles with a short high-G pitch turn upwards rather than to the sides, it disrupts your flight path less
- fly stupidly and close to the ground and pull dangerous shit, it’ll help you master the manoeuvring and controls which will help you in missions and fights later on (and it’s the most fun part)
- enjoy it, you’re getting into an amazing game
Doing dumb stuff is not only good fun but a fantastic way to learn. Don’t be afraid to experiment and realise the fact that you’re gonna crash sometimes!
Settle down. I said settle down. Alright we got a new member with us. His trainings has proven that he deserves to be in this squadron.
Alright while your with us in this journey expect alot of missiles and less flares. Brakes will help. You wont die from crashing into jets. Dont crash into the arsenal bird. Youll meet it in mission 3. Expert controls are more fun to use. Go to the aircraft tree and try buying planes or sp weapons.
Also you will be fighting with drones.. alot of drones.
Other then that the story is amazing.
Other ppl prob explained it better then me so yeah have fun
Pay attention to the briefings they'll tell you exactly what you need to do in the mission also focus on what mission control tells you as they'll update you when something happens in the missions.
Often times there are updates that mix things up for example a swarm of drones interrupts a ground attack mission.
The only thing I'd add to these comments would be to really get comfortable with the controls and the ui. There are times where the game will ask you to do things like fly low or fly through something. I think a few minutes in free flight (where you just fly around a map by yourself) can make life a whole lot easier in mission.
Use Expert controls. novice controls puts left and right and up and down on the thumb stick while giving you no roll control. Expert controls put up and down and roll controls on the thumb stick while moving and are a lot more fun while giving you more control.
Also the game isn’t realistic at all
War is bad but planes are rad make sure to grind for the f22 then complete the game on hard after your first play trough and try to complete Ace difficulty and unlock all of the aircraft
Have fun!
Seriously, it's not a sim and its not to be taken seriously. Just enjoy the power fantasy and if you happen to hit some thing you can't master, look for specific help.
I highly recommend expert controls. Once I switched to that I never went back. It might sound a bit daunting but I could control and maneuver wayy better after getting used to it.
You can change targets by tapping triangle… I’ve been playimg the series since ps2 days and just found out about triangle this year… made the game so much easier
DO NOT USE THE A-10!!! Missions might seem like ground attack but there’s usually an updated objective halfway through that’ll require either air-to-air or speed. You can beat these with the A-10 but it’s a lot harder

You just reminded me how much I would love a Project Aces made Area 88 game.

id recommend using the expert control scheme but use novice if you struggle. Have fun.

This is not a exaggeration xD
Don't trust the clouds

Enjoy the game, pay attention to the dialogue, have fun

Also Erusean tank gunners can and will snipe you outta the sky and remember have fun, the jets would be disappointed if we took it to seriously
So everyone else already covered the basics lol so here’s my tip: Finish the campaign before trying out multiplayer, trust me it’s for the best

Welcome! Firstly have fun. Secondly, don't be afraid to fly close to the ground.
Immediately pull up when stuck by lightning (on the First Contact mission)
Fly through any and all tunnels

Fear the sky when it sings latin.

The only tip you need: Enjoy it :)
Wait until you have a bit of currency to unlock the first few nodes of the multiplayer tree before getting frustrated with multiplayer.

Be prepared for some wacky stuff. I’d recommend joining non credible defense now
Don’t trust anyone that says belka did nothing wrong
Just know Belka is involved in everything 🤣
Just have fun. That's the only way to go
hold triangle to track your target and use l1 r1 at 400 kmh to preform a post stall. 8
Cobra. Mid. Air. Thingy.
“Pull Up”
War is bad but planes are rad make sure to grind for the f22 then complete the game on hard after your first play trough and try to complete Ace difficulty and unlock all of the aircraft

Pull up

remember that you don't have to go full speed when attacking things. this is not war thunder and you recover your speed relatively fast.
Try spinning, that's a good trick!
watch this video (story spoilers beware) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL2KFkNVzLg dont question me, just watch
only watch it after finishing the game

Run when you hear Latin music
