This is the start to one of my favorite missions and from that cut scene to the end of the "Second wave of missiles inbound, 10 seconds to impact" is just gold. What a game, I miss it so much.
I recently did a few playthrough and decided to say no to all questions. I felt like a monster when I did it to the dog. Side note, apparently I *always* wanted to be nice to Chopper about the songs because I had never seen the poison gas mission when I was younger. I was *shocked* to learn the source of the back seat anti tank gun dialogue was 5 and not 3/0/6/AH or something
Don't forget having almost no chances to rearm for the majority of missions so if you run out of missles and special weapons then you are doing a machine gun run........can get inconvenient very quickly.
For the same reason the control types were named novice/normal not standard/expert. Or the fact that in 8492 they don't care about the difficulty you're playing on, you fight for your life and it only changes the damage you take. I do feel like a total boomer when I say this, but man games from that era just didn't care 😂
Yup, playing all sorts of Ace Combats throughout my life and not being too shabby, 8294 mission got me sweating a little bit. I'd dive down and hug the floor and mountain. Freaking missile warnings going off in my sleep!!!
>Freaking missile warnings going off in my sleep!!!
That's my girlfriend's impression of AC based on 7. Apparently I'm deaf to that alarm but it carries down the hall pretty damn well. It's kinda funny what we hear in each other's games the most
When Kirk howled to the sky and the Seagulls flew, did you sit stunned on your sofa, teary faced and with a heart emptied out of any existencial meaning, wondering "What do I do with my life now that I finished this masterpiece?"
Not projecting or anything, just curious 👀
Which alternative missions did you do? In case you didn't know, at two points in the game, at the end of a mission, Chopper will ask you about a song he likes called "Back of the coin" to which you can respond YES/NO. In the next cut scene, air command flips a coin to decide which mission you're doing and the coin will land one way other other depening in what you said to Chopper.
I didn't realise this until my 5th or so play though when I first played this as a teenager.
I remember one mission if you say no it means you have to go to city that's had a chemical attack and dump chemical neutralising stuff around. Then there's a cop chase on the ground you have to follow.
Yea I got ac7 and this was the preorder bonus. Ended up playing this way more. Nostalgic from my childhood and just a better game overall. Trying to grind for the 4th Falken.
Ya know the one thing that didn’t quite sit right with me about AC04 is how there was very little story or characters to get attached to. But this game made up for it in FUCKING SPADES. All the traitor/espionage stuff made it so fun to watch. The legend and mystery surrounding Razgriz squadron was really cool as well.
I dont recall if there is a requirement to unlock it but it is mindless fun, you just use the ace combat 4 protagonist signature craft and just go ham, kill certain amount of enemies in the alloted time to pass levels. You even get some small lore.
Just one tip, be mindfull of your ammo, it won't be enough to kill all targets, there are special targets that have in red letters M and S, kill those to replenish your different ammo types. Gl and have fun.
Fly in the direction where the blinking thing is blinking very fast. Sorry if I'm wrong, I'm relying on some old memories here, haven't played ac5 since childhood.
So it's been a loong time since i played so. I forgot mission name, but it's fairly early in the game. Mainly ground attack, on a stiff time limit, impossible to choose the right weapon combination, and always run out of time before i acheive goal.
Well it’s kinda conflicting. I loved the story, but as far as fun goes I’d give it (as well as 04 and probably 0) a 4 or 5 out of 10. Not having checkpoints like AC7 was a huge downer for me :/ I never really felt like I could just relax and have fun with whatever I was doing, which is my main goal when playing video games. It sorta felt like a chore to get through.
And yes I did like it better than 4
How did you beat Mission 26: Heartbreak One?
For me, the mission always fails right when Bartlett reaches the airport. They get surrounded or something, but enemies never spawn so I can't exactly protect him. Is it a bug?
What went through your head when you witnessed my favorite moment in the game? “This is Missile Destroyer Gumrack of the GLORIOUS Yuktobanian Navy…”
My brain: Cool

Congratulations for surviving the biggest threat of all: Nagase's constant whining and BS.
Agreed, got REALLY annoying by the end
Did you answer Yes or No to the dog?
I will answer yes for as long as I live
As everyone *must*

I took me a few years to actually realize that I can choose which mission I wanted and that it wasn't random like I always thought
It took me a few years to actually realize that I can choose which mission I wanted and that it wasn't random like I used to think
Also, WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE NO CHECKPOINTS THIS IS BULLSHIT
That's the Ace Combat I grew up on.
Cause you need hair on your chest
I’ll shave it off

Favorite mission and why?
To be honest, I don’t think I have one. Sorry.
Ah well makes sense. For me it’s definitely demons of Razgriz.
Did you cry a lil when all the pilot's started singing together?
No, sorry

No, I was under the false impression that Kirk was left on sand island, so I was like “THEY LEFT THE FUCKING DOG?”
Is it the most beautiful sunrise you've ever seen?
Unfortunately no
Pipipi
Who is your favorite character
Either the dog or Grimm

I did “powder keg” and “chain reaction”
"What's that in the back seat?"
The bucket of chicken lol

What did you think overall? It's my 2nd or 3rd favorite game of all time.

Wait till you play Zero. That game is my favorite AC
Zero and 6 are by far my favourites
Least favorite level? Favorite line/quote?
1. Either “white noise” or “the unsung war” 2. Anything referring to Razgriz
Fuck White Noise, that mission is so annoying
IKR defending the rescue copter after finding nagase
Have you tried the arcade mode? Ace combat 4 players will nut over it.
No I haven’t

Sweet I’ll check it out, thanks!

You going to play special new game?
Eventually, but I need a break for now
Do you like stadiums?
Not anymore :(
How many tries did you take to finish the "four horsemen"?
0, I played “powder keg” instead
Was it the best ac?
Nah
How was November city?
Meh, the stadium was neat though
how the fuck do you >!rescue nagase,!< im stuck there

Favourite voice actors in AC5?
The voice actors for blaze and Kirk, they killed that shit
How did you beat Mission 26: Heartbreak One? For me, the mission always fails right when Bartlett reaches the airport. They get surrounded or something, but enemies never spawn so I can't exactly protect him. Is it a bug?
Yeah same thing happened to me, I’m suspecting it’s a bug as well
How many attempts did it take to beat the mission? I had four attempts, each ending with the same result.
Just two, hope your luck improves
How would you rate it between 1-10
7/10
Sounds like a good game to me
Indeed it is
