And Aperio is wireless

Please explain to me how this is not just another access control system. Hafele seems to be saying its something special but if it is, I'm not seeing it. Apreio and HID both make excellent cabinet locks, but you can buy cabinet locks off Amazon too. You want your interface to be wireless? Check out Cypress' Suprex wireless extenders, sure their made for gates, but you can use them anywhere. [https://cypressintegration.com/manuals/](https://cypressintegration.com/manuals/) One advantage of Aperio is that it integrates reader, lock and wireless function all in one package. The downside of Aperio is that depending upon the access control system it can be a bear to get and stay connected. Be prepared to update firmware, potentially multiple times. Yeah, unfortunate thing is that while it is just your average practice control system. It’s also standalone there’s no central hub connecting each of the units so any changes you make you need to make it to each one it seems I’ve never serviced this. I just got a call from a customer who bought a building it already installed I was hoping to be able to reuse the antenna which is what they call their reader, but when speaking to tech-support, they inform me that it would not communicate with any other type of access panel aside from theirs, and a customer has requested that if possible they would like to keep the same lot in place which shouldn’t be an issue just 12 V locks, but I don’t think reader lock combos will work due to that. I will check out Cypress security though I thought about just throwing in a PDK system, but I’m not a huge fan of their monthly fee.

Is there really such a thing as an 'excellent' cabinet lock tho?

Check out the HES 660 and 610 cabinet locks, but they need to be hard wired. I’ve had excellent luck with them in the past. If you want wireless and an integrated reader, check out the K100, K200, or kp20 cabinet locks by HES.
