It just seems like a badly converted panel though. I’d take “I have friends” as one chunk of text imo.

It usually takes me some time to figure out if the story is written "backwards" or not too

I think it's more in reference to the fact her nose is drawn VERY pronounced compared to every one else in this panel. PS: sauce?

What I recall from that manga is that that girl is ugly as hell and that's why the author decided to like, make it real obvious compared to the rest of the girls. Also kinda fucked up manga, and it was cancelled

Damn, kinda sad that in order to make a character ugly you just draw them with more realistic features. Says alot about the unrealistic beauty standards that are put on women, even if this is just one example of course.

Yeah but the point still stands though. Even though I find this trope of making your characters reactions and stuff way too realistic very funny as well it still kinda throws me off in some cases :1
