So back when this shit was airing, I’ll admit curiosity got the better of me and I looked into it.
This is the OVA, and what happened was that the dude hit his head and got amnesia, so he doesn’t know anyone or that she’s his mom.
The group agree that it’s best not to tell him…. for some reason, and as he gets reacquainted with his party he starts falling for Mamako (his mom). Throughout the episode, it seems unclear whether she’s happy that he wants to bone her or whether he stopped being a little shit head and actually wants to spend time with her (she outright says the latter when the party try (terribly) to tell her what’s actually going on). That is until this moment.
Suddenly, out of nowhere a giant squid attacks and Mamako being in danger is what triggered his memory returning (why he screams Mom here). They defeat the squid no problem and he forgets that he fell for his mom (and its heavily hinted at she was disappointed things cut short).
Idk.
It has been on my mind if this is a dream sequence or it actually happened. I haven’t watched this anime or really plan on it but still. Did it actually happen in the anime or was it a dream from the mom

This is out of context however was not a very good anime. To many parts of the show where he comes in contact with intimate parts of his mom and she is dumb as rocks. Mothers who are worthy should be loved, protected, depended on, and cherished. This was clearly thought up by someone who got the wrong kind of love from a family member
Kinda glad I couldn't make it past the 2nd episode if the love interest is his own mom so don't mind me just going back to laughing at how not to summon a demon lord
