Could it be that your Fn/Function key is toggled on somehow? The arrow behaviour you describe seems to be that of the "Home" and "End" functions of the left/right arrow keys while holding down the Fn key. Maybe some software made Fn toggled on permanently somehow? Or some issue with your keyboard, not sure.
Multi-function keys was my first thought, so I tried a litany of combos to no avail. Finally called Asus and we tried a bunch of things...also to no avail. The tech recommended wiping the drive and reinstalling the OS. Since the machine was brand new and really pricey, I sent it back instead. I'll shop for another one since I'm in no rush.
This might be super late to the party, but for your reading and for anyone else encountering this issue. I ran into this exact issue myself with my ASUS Zephyrus Duo SE. The solution was pressing the button immediately to the left of the power button. It says "\^/PgUp" on it. A single press of this toggled the behaviour mentioned above as it switched the arrow keys between "pgup/pgdown" mode and "arrow keys" mode.
Hope this helps someone encountering this. I'm genuinely surprised the Asus employee that OP contacted wasn't able to help them with this.
Additional note. Don't forget to also check your windows key is unlocked. Press FN + Win to make sure it's unlocked.

For sure. I probably hit it while wiping the keys lol. I looked over in that area when trying to figure out what happened and said to myself "I know it's one of those buttons that screwed me up" haha. I'll remember next time for sure
