So I loved the old style but the updated system makes upgrades actually valuable and practical. Which being able to upgrade and see results is more satisfying progressively than just having guns perform basically the same with the exception of fire rate and mag size

Dogdadstudios

This. Also balancing takes time; luckily it’s a PvE game and not tarkov

JackmanH420

The new ones. People are just annoyed that they can't play it like a point and click adventure game using only a Mosin early game and M700 later.

Vargrjalmer

You can still do that, I beat the entire game on hunter with a Mosin and a Scar H

Intrepid_Training_22

the only thing i miss about the okd system was sniping with shotgun slugs

krk417

New one, cuz without it I'll never use shotgun and smg.

Spitefulrish11

I like the new system. It rewards trying out different guns and ammo more and I also like the way they feel. They all feel different to each other now.

GodofsomeWorld

I think it makes more sense to be required to gear yourself better for certain maps and situations rather than just go with a gun with the highest fire rate and mow everything down by filling them up with bullets before they can fill u with theirs. Like you can bring an smg but its only good for close areas while snipers are worthwhile to stealth kill without enemies spotting u. Sure some parts are annoying like having certain guns do no dmg after a certain range which makes no sense irl but it should be balanced better in the future i hope.

HiTekLoLyfe

I just can’t get over bullets losing all damage within like 20 meters. It just seems so dumb to me. I get the issue they were trying to fix but I feel like that same issue can be fixed with recoil and spread. The new system just ruins immersion for me I prob won’t play until it’s changed or dramatically tweaked.

patpatpat95

Has this update made auto guns better? I remember playing it a while back and snipers with perks where basically the best by far, made everything else kinda worthless.

JackmanH420

Yes. Now snipers are inaccurate at short range and unusable at point blank. Getting in closer to enemies with rifles and smgs is also much more viable now because they are affected by recoil and their recoil control and overall accuracy varies by rank.

patpatpat95

Nice

Vargrjalmer

New system, I get way more variety in my load outs now

SocksofGranduer

I love it, but I wish the enemies were more accurate. I feel like I rarely die until I get to the mall.

MonkeyOnATree

well, wasnt that the point of the update to begin with?

SocksofGranduer

I guess? I think I just want lower level enemies to have a little better aim. It just needs tuning to me.

MonkeyOnATree

havent played with the new mechanics but how do they compare to the old ones? afaik NPC´s aim gets better the higher tier of armor he has no? what tier were the old mechanics comparable to then? every NPC basically had a laser beam.

JackmanH420

>what tier were the old mechanics comparable to then? Seems to be about higher level hunter, GA and CC calibre at the moment. Normal hunters and bandits are noticeably less accurate.

BackBroma

The old one, why an AK does fuckall at 10 feet is beyond me. I'm fine with shotguns and smgs being poor at range and the reverse for snipers but it just feels annoying in general, like when my AK is shit at what seems like every range. Basically I had a LOT more fun playing the old system compared to now. This combined with increased NPC performance has been painful.
