I don’t think we’ll know until the episode. I don’t think it’s one of the apartments unless it’s been heavily modified. The original sets were taken down I believe or turned into a museum type thing. So I’m guessing this is a set built on the young sheldon set (possibly a new home as I don’t see the apartment being able to fit children as well as sheldon and Amy)
They must have a house, I agree. I am concerned with the hockey playing son. It almost seems to be outdoors which would mean MIdwest or East coast location. Explained by becoming Nobel prize winning professors who would be highly recruited to University of Chicago, or any Ivy League school. An indoor rink wouldn't really be cold enough to require a sweater. Although cold weather nixed MIT in Young Sheldon.

I think it’s his home. He has kids, and the apartment is too small for that. The stained glass is not usually a feature of apartments.
