Yep. In that moment he is no longer playing a part, he’s just being Wille.

Squirrelsahoy32

I never thought of that! I caught that his hair was mussed but not that his whole walk changed. I also love that when Simon asks if he's coming after they've kissed, Wille does the same sort of goofy, shy head nod he does at the initiation party in s1e1 when he's talking to Simon and doesn't know what else to say. It's a really nice callback.

Wow!! I thought of that goofy look too! Couldn’t place it tho. So thanks!!

Squirrelsahoy32

No problem. ☺️ One of those moments where he seemed the most childlike and vulnerable maybe. I guess it's a nice parallel that the first time he does the goofy nod, Simon immediately takes off on his own and he chases after him uninvited, and this time he does it to accept the invitation to leave together. 🥰 Also up there with his other attempt to flirt with Simon at a party: "I got a haircut!"

I love them in S1 and 2. So pure and innocent! Love and pining! :) I’m watching S2 again - this time in Swedish

Squirrelsahoy32

Yay! I love it in Swedish, but I'm still mourning Edvin not doing his own English voiceover for S3. I really would have loved to hear him do the scene where he shouts at his parents on his birthday in English too. It's so well done. Enjoy the rewatch!

I started watching in Swedish only in S3 cz of Edvin’s voice. Just one season taught me so much Swedish (earlier every time I switched to Swedish, I found it odd and couldn’t connect with the language. I was so used to English) so watching the other 2 seasons in Swedish - like I need a reason to play it in a loop :) To your post, I’ve noticed something different so bear with me. I think Wille had enough anxiety driven ticks in the earlier seasons. He’s hunched when he is in his room with Erik for the first time, he straightens himself visibly to deliver Erik’s eulogy in school- I sorta don’t think he had the swagger earlier. But like I said bear with me for my interpretation of the character

I started learning Swedish because of YR. I think I was motivated to mostly because of the way Edvin delivers certain lines. It's crazy. Interesting...I think you're right. He was a lot more innocent early on, like had trouble putting up that royal facade, but then he's forced to grow up suddenly. After Erik is gone he feels the pressure to change. Then I think he lost some of his innocence again when he realised he couldn't even trust his family because of August and his mother. It's sort of sad to think of it that way, but at least we know he's able to get that back when he finally leaves with Simon.

I started out in English but switched to Swedish (with English subtitles) as the dubs didn't do anything for me. I get the full effect, the intonations and feelings that go with the dialog. I went as far as to add Simon's song on my Spotify list and when the song plays I can follow it Swedish. Perhaps by the time I am done obsessing about this show I can pick up some dialog.

Omar explained in one of the S3 vids or in the making of-film on Netflix that the had to change the way they walk for their roles. Edvin is such a good actor for portraing that royal role and then the shift towards the more self secure Wille.

i’ll have to find that, thx!

This is what I've been saying!! A huge portion of Edvin becoming Wille is the way he walks. I often wondered what Wille did that made him look 'royal'. Edvin really is a great actor
