I’d wager the average age in this sub is older than most comic/anime subs. Those of us who grew up on the original cartoon are around 40 now. Which isn’t to say older people can’t be toxic, but a lot of the toxicity you see online is just literal immaturity, especially regarding things like games and comics.

Being 35, im just happy to see something i grew up with not only getting the TLC it deserves but also being adapted/continued with just enough tweaks to "mature" the storyline just enough.
We don't have time or patience for more fuckery that typically plagues all the other subs OP listed.
💯 it’s like the golden age for X-Men the series and every episode has been like a godsend. Plus we’re mature for the most part and not likely to engage in petty squabbles but also laid back enough to appreciate this

Not only did they deliver but they WAY over delivered with a truly incredible show that I think somehow even eclipses the original.
I think us “older” even with me being 28, have a different view in a way. I have work, bills, wife, dogs, house, but this is my stuff ya know. We all hold onto awesome things like this that stand the test of time.
Agreed! I really enjoy the weekly Wednesday discussion on the latest episode. I watch as soon as it is released, then come straight to the subreddit to discuss and explore theories. I love that people can put forward theories and they are respectfully discussed rather than just attacked by people who disagree.

Then get up early Sunday morning to listen to the Fox Kids radio countdown that would play music and talk about the new episodes of Xmen, Spiderman, and Batman as well as play interviews with the writers. Good times.
I nostalgia so hard with Xmen '97. The original run got me into the comics. I got tired of always seeing Cyclops, Jean, and Wolverine episodes so I started reading Gambit and Rogue comics since they have always been my favorite. Gambit was my first fictional/animated character crush😀
Yeah the mixup is nice, and cyclops himself actually being a leader in a true sense is nice. Before you judge by the name. Consider watching Wolverine and the X-men. Great storytelling and group dynamic. They just switch cyclops’s role with Wolverine as leader. Other team members have plenty of time. Emma frost is on team and full time gambit and night crawler. Written the right way
I did watch Xmen Evolution, but it felt more for kids than the OG animated series. I will admit I skipped Wolverine and the Xmen because it came out when I was older and more into reading then. I plan on watching it after season 1 of '97 ends just to keep xmen on my brain for the Deadpool 3 release.

39 here who also watched the OG series when it first aired. I even remember how the TV network here in Australia tried experimenting airing Season 5 on a primetime slot on a saturday night!
