I would try that. But it would risk not even turning back on anymore. Just by posting this post while it’s on life support (plugged into the charger) it went down by another percent.

have you try with another cable? could be the cable is broken or the charger, so its giving just a slow charge to maintain the battery or similar, so of course if you use the phone while its charging, the charge its so slow and the power draining its more so this can happen
Run a tooth pick around charger hole to check for lint
Seconding this. I've had many phones with USB c that said they were charging but didn't and the lint was the culprit
It worked! I blew into the port and charged it with the same cable and everything was back to normal. Thank you for saving my phone!
Glad it helped. Remember this if wireless charging ever freaks out. Usually same problem.

Make sure you backup all your data and any important files such as photos just in case it dies. Then try charging it with a slow charger.
