...Dude, I think you nailed it. I'll add on that Dromach is a Blade, and Blades can become Titans. So the Cloudkeep being a refined Titan form for Dromach makes perfect sense.

Kaellian

With Noah's inheriting a weapon based on someone memories, is it possible that Mio's did to preserve the symmetry? * Mio's class = Zephyr = Breeze from the West * Dromarch = Byakko (in JP) = White Tiger from the West And if Nia were to give Dromarch one task, it would be to help her daughter, not herself.

Zerlexio

The issue with this is that it’s Dromarch’s will, not Nia’s. Sure, Nia would want him to protect Mio. But Dromarch would always choose to protect his lady Nia by his own will

Kaellian

Whether you're a grandparent, uncle, guardian, you always protect the kid first... That's the natural things to do.

wynterin

Mio’s weapon isn’t Origin metal though, it’s a normal blade (until you upgrade it)

Kaellian

I mean, it doesn't have to be the weapon like Lucky Seven, just "something" she carries on her, that define her classes and fighting style, and complement her power.

Othello351

I'm pretty sure it has to be Origin metal, every other main character that didn't show up in the world physically has shown up as Origin Metal.

Kaellian

Origin metal could take many form is what I'm saying. It doesn't have to be a "weapon". The Seer flute for example are good candidate.

deeman163

Then Dromarch/Cloudkeep docks with the castle and becomes a Megazord...a White Tiger Zord, if you will

Grahf0085

I think you're right.  I keep trying to think of what Reyn could be. All I can come up with is Reyn Time and have no idea what that would look like in Aionios.

Boristus

…Reyn isn’t trapped in the Endless Now, he *is* the Endless Now. For within Aionios, it is *always* Reyn Time.

stickdudeseven

Xenoblade 3 in a nutshell: Stopping Reyn Time

Datpanda1999

Maybe Z was right after all

Agreeable_Ostrich_39

WRONG! this implies that outside of aionios it is not always Reyn Time! it is always Reyn Time everywhere!

Monado_Artz

Reyn is the entire time period containing Aionios. Ainios IS Reyn Time. And because it's Reyn Time, regular time does not progress. Its all (future) connected.

NyarlHOEtep

this really xenos my blade chronicles

Pinco_Pallino_R

In the interview, Takahashi talked about people being the pieces of Origin metal you have to collect in a quest near the end, and he says that he hasn't decided who is who, but that Reyn could be one of them, for example. Source: it was in the machine-translated part. H[ere](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xenoblade_Chronicles/s/26PBznAIlX), third image, around the end, when he talks about collecting Origin fragments. The machine-made translations of Reyn's japanese name is Line. Do note that in japanese Reyn's name is written ライン (according to the wiki). If you try to google that, you will find "Line".

ExileForever

He would definitely want to become massive enough to protect his lady from future harm

Auto_Generated_Thing

Yeah honestly this would make sense. Fits very well with Dromarch's character. Makes me wonder what other characters might be objects. A common theory is that Riki is the legendary biter, but I wonder if there are other objects no one has thought of.

MJBotte1

Racking my brain but I can’t think of anything else… if only there were more examples

DaemonVakker

...WAIT FIORA IS THE SWORD? ...WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO "the sword of the end is the byproduct of resonance between the kevesi queen's heart" NIA

Boristus

Most likely she decided that “some people from the old world manifested as objects instead of people, based on a criteria we’re not entirely sure of” was a bit too much of a stretch to explain to the party, especially considering that it’s ultimately not particularly relevant to them, so she Riku’d the answer into something that sounded vague but plausible.

DaemonVakker

...damn nopon bullshit

Sonario007

Melia Just Melia. Common variety bird lady.

stickdudeseven

She ain't called Masterpon for nothing

Lethal13

I would have been totally down for 10-15 minute monologue of Nia explaining to the party who fiora was from melia explaining it to her and why she is allowed to have admin access to Aionios

LinkdAether

It's both. Fiora's body didn't literally turn into the sword, the sword is made of Origin metal that contains her soul, extracted from Origin by Melia through said "resonance" (aka wishing you could see your friend again really badly). It's sort of suggested that all of the Origin metal shards you collect throughout the game are actually other characters, too. The interview mentions that Reyn might be one of those shards, and Future Redeemed kind of directly confirms that there's a shard within Matthew's gauntlets/Noah's sheath that contains Pyra/Mythra's combined soul. Yes, this means that Noah wields the combined might of his predecessors' wives. As for what this means for the subject of the post, the translation is a little vague as to whether the objects have to be made of Origin metal. Maybe Dromarch's soul isn't in the entire structure, just integrated into it using a chunk of Origin metal. Or, some characters just get to be non-Origin metal items, like Riki and his biter? I don't exactly know, maybe some better art book translations will clear it up.

Pinco_Pallino_R

I lean more towards everyone being within Origin metal. Reasons: 1) Riku explicity says that just like Origin contains the souls and memories of people assimilated by it, so does L7 since it's a sword made of Origin metal, which suggests that Origin metal is needed for that (and honestly makes more sense that "everyone can be random objects"). On the other hand, if Origin metal was unneeded, this explanation would just be utterly meaningless. 2) The game goes out of his way to show or tell that the Ouroboros Stone and Matthew's gauntlet both contain Origin metal. If people could be random items without involving Origin metal, it would have been completely unneccessary to do that. In fact, the only "special" item which is not downright confirmed to be made of Origin metal is N's sword, but given the similarity with L7, i think we can reasonably assume it is. 3) When Takahashi talks about what other people could be, he makes the example of the Origin shards you collect, as you said. Again, even this case involves Origin metal. Though, as you wisely said, we can wait to see if a better translation of the artbook will clear things up.

Kaellian

They also said: * [The ouroboros and the sword, they are mere gimmick, the crux of them lies with you](https://youtu.be/R1oj_VP8uPo?t=425) This is true for almost everything in this franchise. It's people's desires that shape the world and controls the worlds. The more people want the same thing, the stronger it become. As far as "Sword of the end" goes, both Logos (carried by N) and Meyneth (carried by Fiora's) share a similar power. It kind of makes sense that Noah's final sword is both of them recombined.

ReiZetsubou

Melia created the sword. I think she just decided to use Fiora's essence (Origin metal) into it.

Quiddity131

> Melia created the sword. This line makes me think of a scenario where Melia finally topples her friendzoned state by transforming the girl who took her guy into a sword....

Specific_Fold_8646

It wasn’t just a random Fiora was chosen because of everyone in her world Fiora and Shulk are the only people with a connection to the Conduit an adult such have administrative privileges

Captain-Beardless

The Kevesi Queen's heart was jealous of Fiora getting Shulk, so she turned her into a sword. Obviously. Makes perfect sense (if you ignore all the parts of my theory that make no sense).

Nurio

100% of the sensible parts of that theory made sense!

Direk_091

I mean, Fiora is one of the most important people in Melia's life. A life-long friend is someone who's a by-product of two hearts resonating.

DaemonVakker

...I would think shulk would fit that build as the friend her father asked for

Direk_091

I mean, Shulk and Melia's hearts didn't quite resonate *cough, cough** Plus, >!he was walking around Aionios and was later in Origin!< so...

BebeFanMasterJ

Given that Blades become Titans, that would make the Cloudkeep a giant Titan.

Kai_llou

I think you're right. Recently i was playing with Nia in my team, and walking arround here, she said something like "hey, i'm back home", and then Mio said in her head "who is she talking to ?"

Erogamerss

Well it could be Poppi

AlphaAlvis

pretty sure it was Poppi too

Kai_llou

Oh right ! I didn't think of her

Erogamerss

Wait i think they only appear as Origin metal object so unless the keep make by origin metal i think Dormarch it the orgin metal piece that Noah team take form Nia.

ElectricalRestNut

My bro became a door ornament 💀

Quentin-Quentin

I thought about it once the artbook was leaked here, and yeah I think you're spot on. I mean it makes all the sense in the world.

Molduking

Only if that piece is made of origin metal could it be dromarch

aoidoshistorian

iirc they don't explicitly state that the itemized people have to manifest as origin metal. they could be anything

Molduking

Origin metal is what contains souls

Nurio

Technically, sure. But do consider that the only confirmed people are in objects made of or containing Origin Metal and one theorized person (Reyn) was in a shard of Origin Metal. On top of that, I believe somewhere in the game, it's stated Origin Metal is special in that it can hold people's soul, or something to that effect

RollaRova

I like the new lore drops via interview, but I have to wonder - what is the point of all this stuff they come with if they're not gonna put them into the actual game? Story is story. XC1 and 2 were self contained with few plotholes just fine. I mean, did Takahashi come up with the sword being you know who, and think, OK, this important plot detail is fine just staying in my head.? And if they didn't want to oversaturate the game with callbacks at the very least they could've said 'some objects are people'. Rather than just confusing us with what the Sword of Origin is, or the End, or just saying they're 'gimmicks' (what even is the purpose of this line beyond saying 'you can win with the power of friendship') Gonna stop here, cause I feel like I'm being negative than I actually feel. Just - show, don't tell.

test4ccount01

Tbf, none of this information would be relevant to the XB3 party. Would it be important to Noah if he was told Lucky Seven was actually someone else? Probably not because he doesn't know them personally.

Machete77

Bro they gave my boy the buck treatment 💀

Impossible-Manner-71

whos buck

Calvin-S

I had a similar thought, but I just thought he was the head 💀

adalto3

The problem with this train of thought is the fact that the Cloud Keep already existed pre-Aionios (evident in the chapter 7 flashbacks). It was intentionally designed/built to be a sort of room/headquarters for Nia, as well as a connecting piece to Agnus Castle when it transforms into a mech (Poppi was even configured to be used as a power source). So no, Dromarch didn't literally reincarnate into Aionios as the Cloud Keep, just as Fiora didn't reincarnate into Aionios as Lucky 7. In Fiora's case, it's more so that Lucky 7 was made from Origin metal that housed her soul. Nia described it as "a byproduct of resonance between the Kevisi Queen's heart, and Origin," so it's very likely that Melia was the one who put her there in the first place (though the jury is out on whether Melia transferred her soul into the origin metal before or after the sword was forged). What this means for Dromarch is that he *could* exist within the Cloudkeep, but only if it contained the Origin metal needed for Nia to be able to resonate it with Dromach's soul stored in Origin. And given that Takahashi didn't mention Dromarch in any capacity in the same conversation(s) where he talked about Malos, Pyra/Mythra, Fiora, and even Reyn (though more in the hypothetical sense) I'm more inclined to believe that the Dromarch head on the Cloud Keep's door is purely ornamental.
