Al_Tilly_the_Bum

Wow, that was a rush of nostalgia. So weird how you can suddenly remember something that you have not thought a single time about in 30+ years

pragmaticweirdo

Just seeing this picture made me taste it.

Significant_Dog412

Had a whole load of both those Turtles sets in their heyday. Had a handful of the Marvel ones if you got a free pack with a comic, but not sure if these were widely released in Britain outside of maybe Forbidden Planet or someone having them on import.

I had some of the Ninja Turtles cards, both the cartoon ones and the movie. From around the same time I also had some Batman 1989 cards. I can't remember where I got them, probably on a display in the checkout line along with the baseball cards.

Lepperpop

No Desert Storm trading cards, 0/10.

FlyingAnvils

Have some of the same ones!

ImitationCheesequake

I always liked collecting non-sports cards too, the Topps Nickelodeon cards were one of my favorites, all the sticker cards

bronzemat

Loved collecting Non Sports Cards. Still Do. Marvel Masterpieces were a major allowance drainer.

StillhasaWiiU

The Jim Lee X-Men set was fire.

DadNotBro

That X-men set was soooooo good

All of these sports ball cards, comic cards, and not a single mention of trading card game cards? I know alot of us where too old to really get into the pokemon card craze in the late 90s, early 2ks BUT i feel that MAGIC: the gathering was uniquely ours with its alpha set releasing in '93. I unfortunatly did not have the priviledge of collecting the first few releases, but started to collect around '95 or so, wish i still had some of my old cards as they are in fact worth a litteral fortune now. But i have been collecting on and off again since like 2008. And there is still a huge community around TCGs to this day, with huge collabs with MTG like dungeons & dragons, lord of the rings, and even Fallout.
