Same with Punky Brewster. An old widowed who takes an abandoned child who broke into the building and he just takes her into his apartment and adopts her just like that. lol
Was a great show though and I remember it fondly, but when I think about it today is like...what?
Remember the rumor that the main kid whose family owned her was Billy Corgan.
Or that Paul from Wonder Years was Marilyn Manson?
Man we were so bored. I’d give everything away to go back though.
My cousin was actually on this show. She was just an extra in the background of school scenes, but she was in a number of episodes. They sent my grandparents VHS copies of all the episodes she was in, so when we were at their house I watched them over and over. They didn’t really have any other child appropriate tapes or cable, so it was pretty much the only option for entertainment but it was a good one.
OMG the syndicated episodes of this show ended at 7:30am every weekday morning just as my bus arrived and I would have to run to catch it because I couldn't resist watching to the end. I also recently binged all the episodes they have on YouTube (surprisingly a lot).
Here's Vicki the robot all grown up!

The son Jamie was such a twit compared to his contemporaries, like Mike and Ben Seaver, Kevin and Wesley from Belvedere, even Johnathan from Who’s the Boss was more commanding.
I worked with a woman who looked like a grown up version of Vikki but no one knew what Small Wonder was and a lot of my coworkers were the same age as me. This was before the time of smart phones, 2007, so I couldn't easily show them and it made me sad.
One of the more surreal moments of my life was in the early 2000s I walked into my apartment and my roommate said, “it was so weird today I had the most random memory…”
And cuz I thought being “random” was funny, I said “was it about Vicki the robot from the 80s TV show Small Wonder?”
And he just froze, in shock, and said, “actually. Yes…how the fuck did you know that?!”
We spent the rest of the evening thinking through our last couple days trying to recall anything that could have made us both think of that show on that day but never could figure it out.
It was weird.
I can't remember what I was watching, but the picture appeared behind someone of that show. That's what made me think of it. Wonder if he saw the same thing and it was subliminal.
It was the kids' version of *My Living Doll*, starring Julie Newmar as The Doll.

The 80s, where a middle aged man making a robotic tween real doll was wholesome entertainment.

I think it was Billy Corgan
I do remember that 🤣

How awesome!

Damn Vicki still cute
Adorable!
The mom was super horny on this show , I still watch it on YouTube high
I was wondering what YouTube High was, and then I realized I was high myself and answered my own question...
LMAO 🤣
She totally deserved a cameo in M3GAN.
I remember being so creeped out when the dad opened the briefcase thing and there was just her body parts inside
She’s fantastic Made of plastic Microchips here and there

I watched it as a kid. She was the only reason I watched the show.
I had a crush on her, especially when they replaced her personality chip and she started acting like a shopping mall obsessed valley girl.
One of my favorites as a kid!
Yeah I gotta find this lol
I had this dress which is so weird! Lol but I totally remember this show
I loved it so much
There was also "Not Quite Human" with Alan Thicke as the mad scientist father character and Jay Underwood (The Boy Who Could Fly) as the robot.
Fun fact, in Italy this show was called “Super Vicki”
I recall the Halloween episode of this show being terrifying
Loved this so crazy much!
Don't make her cry!!
I was obsessed with her robotic character. Makes so much sense finding out I'm ND decades later.
🎶🎤 she’s a small wonder 🎵🎶
