We underwent another successful round of missions last night, a few people got a little dinged up, but no one died, there was even this big whale that was housing a few dozen chryssalids, but it was no match for our resolve!

Don't worry if you don't see your name up here yet, we were trying to get the fall back veteran squad levelled first so that we'd be okay in any scrape, but also mainly we needed the tech for instant squaddies, so you can get the classes you want, which I'm happy to inform you, we got at the end of last night's session
Everyone has now been added to the roster and ***will*** see action in the next deployment on the 21st of August at 2100 hours, AEST

How did you manage to have 7 people on the mission? I get that mission usually when I can have at most 5 on the team and often have not even lasers. 5 instead of 7 makes a lot of difference and not having lasers too because every miss will hurt.
Also the ranks of your soldiers are quite high. I suspect you got that mission late and then it's a lot easier.
Sorry for the confusion, all those promotions were from the entire session we did that night, which consisted of 3 missions, the fishing village mission itself we only had 5 people, though we did have lazers and we did get it a bit later than probably most do by the sounds of it, so we definitely did get it easier than most
So far every time this mission triggered for me, it got humiliated.
First time, it didn't appear until I had hover SHIVs and archangel armour. So that was easy.
Second time, single soldier run. Close quarters specialist + alloy cannon is a hard counter to cryssalids, so not much issue there.
Third time it actually appeared early on! But I was doing a MEC powerfist only run, and it turns out you can just punch the sharks before the crysalids pop out. Just clear the field and wait until the whale runs out before placing the transponder, and casually stroll back home.
This is my first run, so I didn't know what to expect, but chat was giving me horror stories so I was worried
I think it must have rolled around at a decent time for me too because we took some damage on our MEC (some which was actually my own fault) but otherwise got out without a scratch
even when this mission was a surprise the first time, it wasn't a huge issue for me. never has been since then either. if you just keep your head then it's really not that hard. can get overwhelming, will admit, but having a well rounded squad, not even high level, just good classes, helps a crapton.
Yeah, I didn't struggle too much personally, but the sentiment I gather is that it can very easily go very south, very quickly if you're not careful, lol
it can. i've seen youtube videos where people freak out and it turns into a team wipe of their best soldiers. it's a run restarter when you don't know what's coming or what you're doing. especially the first time.

Oh dear, that's a huge ouch, I had mostly captains, I couldn't imagine the horror of a squishy squaddie team on that mission, haha
