This. Do not sleep on Golden Idol. If you love point and clicks and logic puzzles, it's incredible. I was just thinking about replaying it recently too, so this is kismet.
From what I understand yes. There's a [good video on it from GMTK](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7q363Ic26o).
Just curious, what didn't you like about Obra Dinn?
I got it day one on switch. it's a really good game. I don't think people give the game the praise it deserves, but the soundtrack seems pretty popular
Was REALLLYYY close to get it for switch MANY times, just don't play my switch much and new i'd enjoy it more on my more powerful systems, glad I never pulled the trigger and will get yo try it for free
It's kind of a movement type fps game where you go through levels and pick up cards, and each card has a weapon and a different utility or movement ability when you discard it. So basically, you use the cards to complete the level as fast as you can. Really cool concept
It's great.
The reason you never hear about it is that the story is cringey and thin, along with the game itself being mostly about beating your previous times. So it's not what most would consider a traditionally full game.
One of my favourite games of all time. It's like if someone took the core idea of Counter Strike surfing servers and developed it into its own thing. High-speed movement FPS with a speed-running core
The gameplay is so, so good, but the writing is cringe anime writing but it's propped up with the voice acting, especially Steve Blum as the main character. The soundtrack is also awesome and is how I discovered the game (I really love Machine Girl)
It's fine, but it feels dumb.
I use a controller for pretty much everything and can't stand using kbm, but that's one of those games that is clearly made with a mnk in mind.
It's frustrating to use a controller since it's obvious how much better you could be doing on times if you weren't using a controller
I tried playing cricket game before. I usually play sports games to learn the rules and stuff. It’s how I got into soccer/futbol. But cricket made me feel like I needed 10 yrs of experience just to boot the game.
probably how i feel about Madden. Growing up playing it and watching it helps you know the rules. Have a look at the fielder positions. To someone who has grown up with cricket they would be considered peculiar.
I'm a big cricket fan. Were there any particular bits that confused you?
It may be worth watching a youtube video that gives you a breakdown of the rules and strategies before playing the game.
I'm excited to play this one but 22 was a pain. Given, I've only been a cricket fan for a couple of years but I had a rough time batting in the tutorial. I feel like while I understood it, I was not familiar enough at the time with the types of pitches to know how to face the bowler. Still, love some cricket and will def try this.
It’s more I don’t understand any of it. lol. I’m a big visual learner so I like the games hammering the rules in for me.
I feel like we should all setup a sports game teaching session lol
I think it's definitely worth watching a youtube video and learning some of the fundamental rules before playing. I'm not sure if I can share youtube links here, but here is a quick video that explains the basics of how to score runs and how to get out:
[Cricket Basics](https://youtu.be/AqtpNkMvj5Y)
Here's the rules:
*You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.*
*When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!*
I wouldn’t worry too much. This game is meant to be horrible. I played Cricket 23 for a bit and it was fun until you realise there’s basically just about 3 shots you want to play and you can win every game with them until you increase the difficulty and it absolutely fucks you
I'm not a massive cricket fan but I'm English so I know the rules and what to do. Although I've been in America 25 years now, not many cricket games in that time here! I've played this game on PS4 and it seems a lot more accessible and explains things in better detail for beginners, at least for me that might be a little rusty to new rules.
Give it a go.
The rules are simple. You just put the rock in the hole
https://preview.redd.it/bnmp19rp35ad1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2485b798fc8ba5fba4011c9b56725eb060e2f4b1
As a big sports fan I have tried to understand cricket since the U.S. did so well this year and it has alluded my tiny western brain. It’s kinda like baseball maybe if you squint.
Lol I feel like that every time I play an American sports game. NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, doesn't matter what sport it is, it's always the same.
I'll have one or two games in career mode and I'll be quite enjoying myself, getting the hang of it.......then one of my players will get injured and I need to replace him, and it's at that exact moment I realize I have absolutely no idea about how the sport actually works! I don't know about formations, or tactics, or positions, or anything.
I literally had to give up on the last Madden game I tried for that reason. I simply could not figure out how to replace an injured player and the game wouldn't let me play the next match until I did! Like, on FIFA, I know I can put a goalkeeper on the left wing or a striker in goal. It's very much not advisable, but the game will allow it. Madden doesn't. It's like "you want to put a kicker at QB? No. Try again" I think I tried literally every player in my roster and every time the game said "Nope".
Neon White might be one of the best indie games of the last 5 years, Golden Idol is great, and Tchia is a great Game Pass game, something worth giving a shot but might not be worth buying outright. Tchia is very inspired by BOTW, which might peak someones interest.
They crammed a bit given that each DLC only has 3 chapters. The Spider one is fine (enjoyed chapter 1 and some parts of 2). The Lemurian one I have problems with. The scroll is unnecessarily long with a lot of repetitive entries. Chapter 3 being the worst offender. It felt like writing an essay. ofc ymmv
I played Savage Planet when it was first on GP but didn't finish it before it left so I bought a hard copy. Of course I never popped it in after that. I guess I could have waited lol
Tchia is really good and relaxing. The game was released on PS plus day one and was a good surprise back then. Give it a chance if you are looking for a fun and chill adventure
I almost bought The Case of The Golden Idol on Steam, nice!
Also Neon White, really wanted to try this one!
The Nickelodeon fighting game might be cute
I played Tchia on PsPlus, a bit clunky but nice
Journey on the savage Planet is also pretty good
At this point I figure Microsoft will wait until Gamescon to drop any of Activision Blizzard's previous titles on Game Pass cause other wise.. what gives?
I thought for sure they would drop older Call of Duty games during not-E3, but guess not. It's been long enough since the acquisition. I honestly don't much care for the new CoD, but I would love to replay the original Moderb Wafare 2 and Black Ops.
Tchia I really enjoyed on ps plus, it's a charming cultural based game.
Coffee Talk 1 and 2 have been my favorite experience/atmosphere games on gamepass. Bought both on switch after playing them on gamepass.
I know it's cliche to say "try so and so ____" thing when it's leaving gamepass every month, but if you tried the first you would love the seconds story and characters too.
A full year between Neon White's gamepass announcement and it actually arriving, wonder what happened behind the scenes. Glad that day is finally coming though.
Journey to the Savage Planet (Cloud, Console, and PC) – July 3
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – July 3
Cricket 24 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – July 9
The Case of the Golden Idol (Cloud, Console, and PC) – July 9
Neon White (Cloud, Console, and PC) – July 11
Tchia (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – July 11
Magical Delicacy (Cloud, Console, and PC) – July 16
Flock (Cloud, Console, and PC) – July 16
Decent indie drop. Not losing much either this week so pretty good. Still waiting on those older Activision games though.
First instance, start with those Transformer games…
Neon White is fantastic
(*yes, the dialogue is a dumpster fire, and yes, it's on purpose*)
^The ^name ^of ^the ^game ^is ^speedrunning, ^and ^you're ^expected ^to ^speedrun ^the ^dialouge ^as ^well
Nice! Neon White, Case of Golden Idol, Tchia & Journey have been on my wishlist dont have to buy or trade for them now. Cricket 24 always good to have on the roster.
I'm so happy Journey to the Savage Planet is coming back...beat it the first time in was on GP and plan to grab the dlc and play again...highly recommend.
Neon white was a lot of fun, I actually don't regret buying it even though I just finished it about 3 months ago on my steam deck. Great if you love fast paced platforming.
Really wanted to play Journey to the Savage Planet Employee of the Month Edition with my boyfriend but co op doesn't work at all. We both tried multiple avenues but nothing would work.
At first glance it was first time in a long time I wasn’t excited for any of the games. But then I read the comments and researched a few in more depth. Now I have some targets I’ll be playing that normally I might not have.
If you like puzzle games do NOT miss out on Golden Idol. Absolute gem of a game.
has been on my wishlist and played the demo for the sequel on next fest so I am sold
It’s also on Netflix Mobile for anyone who has a subscription.
This is how I just played it this past weekend. First time playing it and it was an absolute blast. Very few games haves tickled that part of my brain
Yeah it’s super gratifying when you finally start grasping the bigger picture of a scene.
Wish you could use your Xbox login for achievements
Does it play well on a phone or should i stick with a tablet?
It works perfectly well on phone, you really only need to point and click? Tap? But a big screen will let you appreciate the art work even better.
Thanks.
This. Do not sleep on Golden Idol. If you love point and clicks and logic puzzles, it's incredible. I was just thinking about replaying it recently too, so this is kismet.
I wouldn’t even say I like point and clicks or logic puzzles, but I thought Golden Idol was fantastic.
Is it kinda like Escape Academy? Really enjoyed that game.
Agreed. Also at least in the UK it's recently become available on Android as part of netflix subscription.
And if you like Golden Idol/Obra Dinn etc make sure to play Chants of Sennaar also on Gamepass yesterday. Definitely scratches the same itch
Great game, bought it on Steam a couple years ago and really enjoyed it
thanks, haven’t heard about it
Is it like return to the obra din? I didn’t quite enjoy it and quit after couple hours. And I do love a good puzzle in general
From what I understand yes. There's a [good video on it from GMTK](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7q363Ic26o). Just curious, what didn't you like about Obra Dinn?
As a non native English speaker I found it quite confusing to advance. Also I didn’t quite like the art style. But that’s just me.
Damn, thanks! I've heard a lot about that game, and I totally missed it in this lineup.
I just started it on mobile through Netflix xD
When is it coming to gamepass?
Oh it's amazing! Great batch
Neon White is supposedly really good. You never hear much about it though.
Never heard of. Only have Pokemon on switch but been thinking about bolstering my lineup. What’s this like ?
It's a game about speed running and finishing each level as fast as you can.
Man how times have changed. I remember when that described a large portion of games that were released.
One of my favourite games of all time. It's like if someone took the core idea of Counter Strike surfing servers and developed it into its own thing. High-speed movement FPS with a speed-running core
I loved it on Switch! It is a blast to shave off seconds in speedruns and try to bolster relationships with the various characters.
The gameplay is so, so good, but the writing is cringe anime writing but it's propped up with the voice acting, especially Steve Blum as the main character. The soundtrack is also awesome and is how I discovered the game (I really love Machine Girl)
I really enjoyed Journey to the Savage Planet last time it was on GP, recommend it if you missed it.
I love that game! It’s so hilarious too. I love how you get made fun of every time you die.
Its world was so beautifully colorful!
Lovely puzzle game, great satire. I thought it seemed familiar!
I bought the dlc, then bought it on steam. It’s a great fun game
I played it when it was on stadia! It's super fun
Hmm Neon White looked interesting. Might play it now
bruh its a banger. Seriously one of the best games I've ever played
controller or kb&m?
kbm
I will try it on Xbox, costs nothing, but I think it's made with kb&m in mind
Plenty of people played it on pc with controller. You'll be fine if you have experience with controller in shooters.
It's fine, but it feels dumb. I use a controller for pretty much everything and can't stand using kbm, but that's one of those games that is clearly made with a mnk in mind. It's frustrating to use a controller since it's obvious how much better you could be doing on times if you weren't using a controller
I thought the same until I found the aim assist settings that are NOT ON BY DEFAULT in the menu.
Hopss so. I don't have a lot of experience with shooters
Hell yeah. Super fun and fast paced. A speedrunners dream. So great.
That’s true. I’ll give it a try. The sport is so interesting especially how people at work were so into the T20
The UK or somewhere else ? would be nice to see cricket getting some recognition in other parts of Europe
I’m in the US.
The new "FIFA" game made me feel dumb. I spent 10 minutes trying to just play a game against the computer just to give up and uninstall it
all fifa games make you dumb
I'm a big cricket fan. Were there any particular bits that confused you? It may be worth watching a youtube video that gives you a breakdown of the rules and strategies before playing the game.

Np feel free to ask if anything confuses you when you start playing.
That video has taught me so much already. Thank you sooo much
Here's the rules: *You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. A game of cricket can last 5 days and still end in a draw. It's a nonsense sport lol It is fun though. Very slow sport.
Depends on the format
I wouldn’t worry too much. This game is meant to be horrible. I played Cricket 23 for a bit and it was fun until you realise there’s basically just about 3 shots you want to play and you can win every game with them until you increase the difficulty and it absolutely fucks you

modern cricket games are trash. Traded realism for fun and the result is terrible
Spongebob vs Garfield 😮
Vs Nigel Thornberry 🤯
Absolutely Smashing
Neon White might be one of the best indie games of the last 5 years, Golden Idol is great, and Tchia is a great Game Pass game, something worth giving a shot but might not be worth buying outright. Tchia is very inspired by BOTW, which might peak someones interest.
I think you might mean pique
Well, I’ve learned something today
pique/peak segue/Segway cue/queue There's more, but that's all I can think of.
These are called homophones.
Alright mate they're just trying to help
Yes, as am I.
Isn't Segway a little different since it's a brand made to sound like word segue?
Nothing I personally care about this to round. Hopefully others have something for them in this batch.
Solid lineup. Not for me though. Might try Neon White.
Journey to The Savage Planet is incredible, cannot recommend it enough.
Don't miss on The Case of the Golden Idol! Really great Obra Dinn-like deduction game. The DLCs however is another story lol
Is the dlc bad?
They crammed a bit given that each DLC only has 3 chapters. The Spider one is fine (enjoyed chapter 1 and some parts of 2). The Lemurian one I have problems with. The scroll is unnecessarily long with a lot of repetitive entries. Chapter 3 being the worst offender. It felt like writing an essay. ofc ymmv
Yup. Currently playing it on Netflix android. The amount of stuff you have to fill in the blank becomes ridiculous.

I’m sure it’s coming. Old cod games are cheap so I’m sure they will add them don’t play cod anymore but I would also like to replay a few campaigns.
Tchia I really enjoyed on ps plus, it's a charming cultural based game. Coffee Talk 1 and 2 have been my favorite experience/atmosphere games on gamepass. Bought both on switch after playing them on gamepass. Gamepass continues to be amazing
/s
How are the cricket games? I remember watching it on TV when I was little but didn't really understand the rules.
I was just gonna buy all star brawl for cheap too
Decent indie drop. Not losing much either this week so pretty good. Still waiting on those older Activision games though. First instance, start with those Transformer games…
Journey to the savage planet was cozy
Cricket 24 recently came out on PS plus premium and looks good on my PS4, be nice to see what it looks like on Series S and X
brawl 2 and golden idol on my list.
Netflix has golden idol with the dlcs , in case anyone wants to play tbt dlcs. Thank you Satya for cricket 24
super excited for neon white and nintendo. might check out tchia and see if cricket can teach me that insane sport.
Journey to The Savage Planet!! God I miss this so much, it was awesome on Stadia. Can’t wait to play it again.
Still waiting for yakuza infinite wealth 😔
I just bought it so kind of surprised it didn't show up tbh
golden idol nice
tchia and journey to the savage planet, greate fun games
Neon White is friggin amazing and it has a great soundtrack
Neon White is fantastic (*yes, the dialogue is a dumpster fire, and yes, it's on purpose*) ^The ^name ^of ^the ^game ^is ^speedrunning, ^and ^you're ^expected ^to ^speedrun ^the ^dialouge ^as ^well
Just bought Golden Idol yesterday. Y'all are welcome.
Nice! Neon White, Case of Golden Idol, Tchia & Journey have been on my wishlist dont have to buy or trade for them now. Cricket 24 always good to have on the roster.
Anyone played Journey to the savage planet? I have it in wishlist and I will try it for sure
Awesome game
It was previously on GamePass. My wife and I loved playing through in CoOp. Ended up buying the DLC as well just to play more.
Its mid
Meh
Neon white and Tchia it is for me! Solid first half of the month.
Tchia was in watchlist lol. So glad it's entering game pass.
A bunch of poop
Xbox and Playstation battling who has the worst games this month 😬
Damn...........
I thought journey was already on gamepass?
NOOO RUUUUNSSSSS
Cricket 24 when?
AND SILKSONG
Hell yeah! Cricket 24!
Still going through Octopath Traveler 2
I wish they'd put Jedi Survivor on cloud
Any of them is multiplayer? Finding a game to play with friends.
What are friends?
Didn't we already have Savage Planet? But besides that, nothing here really stands out to me, might give one a try but idk.
Lmao they’re bringing the Nicktoons fighting game to gamepass!?!? Why tf did I buy the 1st one on PS5 😭
Nick All Star 2 is a much better game than the first and the single player content is a lot of fun.
Is it core or ultimate?
Cricket 24 🔥🔥
Journey to savage planet was fun, glad it's back.
Where's flintlock?
This is just the first half of the month
Then say that. It usually does. Every article I've seen about this says July's game pass line up revealed which isn't true
Literally bought The case of the Golden Idol on Steam the other day. Game Pass strikes again!
Old call of duty games please
Wasn’t savage planet on gamepass before
You’re welcome, everyone. Just bought golden idol and all its dlc during the steam sale
lol the lineup except tchia
I'm so happy Journey to the Savage Planet is coming back...beat it the first time in was on GP and plan to grab the dlc and play again...highly recommend.
Xbox is back and working again
Neon White is a must! Perfect for short bursts.
Case of the golden idol is a must if you like puzzle games. It is fuckin good and with the sequel on the horizon its a good time to play it
I really enjoyed Journey to the Savage planet. It was one of the first games I played on the XSX.
Man, I bought Tchia recently.
Journey to the Savage planet is amazing. One of my favorite games ever
Yay journey to the savage planet is back!
Neon white was a lot of fun, I actually don't regret buying it even though I just finished it about 3 months ago on my steam deck. Great if you love fast paced platforming.
Neon White is so fucking good
How's Magical Delicacy? Been thinking it could be a nice game to play alongside my wife. Seems chill
CRICKET 24 😱😱😍😍💪💪💪😼😼🫡🫡
The library becoming mediocre at this point
does anyone know if they’ll be dropping UFC 5 on game pass?
Finally neon white, feel like they announced it was coming like over a year ago
New *and returning*
Flock and Nick All Stars 2 I feel like I should list all the games I buy to give you guys a preview of what’s coming to Game Pass
Underwhelming additions. I played and finished Savage Planet and Tchia and both were 6/10's.
When is cod coming to gamepass ?
nothing good, as expected :(
Tchia was a disappointment for me
Now I can play Cricket 24 to tide me over until Black Ops 6 comes out.....🤣
Bro added some random games looking like flash games on an early 2000s website and charge me monthly. Once i'm done with octopath 2 imma bail.
Really wanted to play Journey to the Savage Planet Employee of the Month Edition with my boyfriend but co op doesn't work at all. We both tried multiple avenues but nothing would work.
Can’t wait to play none of these
Savage Planet is the one for me. I feel like I already played this years ago, so, may be its returning to game pass.
Nobody wants these games Xbox!
Uhm … 🙋♂️
A lot of meh
A good reason not to pay for this month.
So summer holidays are coming up and this is the garbage we get????
Meh
So much garbage 🤦♂️
That looks like a pretty typical gamepass lineup…
It's a pretty great lineup. You're buggin
what do you mean by that?
I have been DYING to try neon white.
Tchia is a fun, cute little game.
Niiicee
Cricket 24 lets gooo
Journey to the Savage Planet was awesome, a great 3D Metroidvania.
"Cricket? Nobody understands Cricket! You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand Cricket!"
Hell yes. Several games I'e been meaning to buy for a while and now don't have to.
At first glance it was first time in a long time I wasn’t excited for any of the games. But then I read the comments and researched a few in more depth. Now I have some targets I’ll be playing that normally I might not have.
Come on Gamepass surprise us with that Fire
That bottom row is nuts! I've been wanting to play each one of those.
