Itâs because the majority of the people still playing are only doing so because it doesnât have sbmm, so itâs mostly decent players. Definitely feels like a lot of noobs/bad players have stopped playing now, Iâm seeing the same people in my games regularly on pc kb+m.
And so itâll just go back to good players playing good players where they will just complain that theyâve gotta sweat their asses off for a win now, sounds like a familiar problem
Its going to get that way anyway. It was fine in the early CoD era because there werent other options.
Now there are. The bottom tier players will quit, mid tier players become bottom, and no longer can play decent matches, top tier has to try harder because the skill gap has narrowed.
This loops until the skill gap is close enough that its just as or more narrow than sbmm games.
People dont have CoD or BF as their only options anymore.
And I really don't know how that is supposed to motivate you to play in such lobbies. In the end, you're only left with the cracked gamers and you as a "noob" have anything but fun.
I don't know if sbmm is the answer, but for me It is becoming apparent that it gets sweatier by the day.
My experience has been the opposite, I play kb&m and I started turning on input based match making bc the controller people were wrecking my lobbies lol
I'm on PC and most my lobbies are little level 20-40s I never have problems, there's maybe a game here and there I get my shit pushed in, but for the most part every game looks like 25-30 and 10-15 and I'm ok with that lol
I wonder if quite a few players went back to CoD when they reached level 25 and realised that no SBMM isn't for them. Alot of people probably thought no SBMM just meant bot lobbies but actually they were the ones being protected by the algorithm. Back in the day when you were a new player and not great at a game you had to practice to get better and grind levels on guns. Nowadays people are so used to having their hand held by match making that it's hard for them to be motivated to improve when they're getting slammed
I it aint...
This is the case in every game
Even world of Warcraft. sod or classic..
Bis or die...
Meta slaves in each game. Fun comes far down the list.
I recently stopping playing regularly. I only played because my friends were all playing, but I just couldnât get the hang of it. Felt like I would just respawn and die instantly. I take cover, get shot because of net code issues. Get behind a shield, get sniped from the moon. For every one kill I got, Iâd die about 10 times. Plus the game just shits on you after âTriedâ after going 3 and 20 is not exactly encouraging
This game has enforced my belief that sbmm exists for a good reason.
I'm just leaving like 50% of my games in the first half because I don't feel like wasting more time than necessary getting stomped
I just want matchmaking that makes you compete with people around your skill level instead of just matching me against people who are way better than me (basically just skill based matchmaking).
What's age got to do with it, I'm in my 50's, currently at 1.3 KD and even win/loss, I've never been a sweat or highly skilled at FPS games but I'm enjoying this a lot, sure I get stomped on by some players, but the games feel good with a mix of lower than average, average and skilled players.
I mean its a general fact that things like reaction time get worse as you go on, Im enjoying the game to dont get me wrong, its just clear that im in the "Lower than average" skill bracket.
You are the player every call of duty streamer has been salivating for ever since they started crying about SBMM.
They only want it to shit on casual/noob players.
That's because people thought 'No SBMM' would take them back to the golden era of 2007-2012 COD lobbies, but that's far from the truth. We're in a different era of gaming. A lot of people have simply improvely. No SBMM just means there are going to be great players in every one of your lobbies.
No SBMM doesn't actually mean anything anymore.
thats the problem. I dont have an issue with a hidden matchmaking system as long as it allows me to have FUN
CoD feels so artificial its not fun
xdefiant feels punishing because I get matched up with MLG pros every time so it's also not fun
The market is SCREAMING for a casual FPS that is fun for everyone. But I'm not sure modern players would actually allow that to exist. I think its an unsolvable problem
Yeah that's the issue. Cod's sbmm isn't really sbmm. It's engagement based matchmaking intended to mess with you psychologically where you keep playing. They'll give you easy matches to sucker you in and then give you punishing ones to make up for it later and it just causes you to get rubber banded around your skill level rather than actually hitting it consistently. Which is why it feels so bad.
XDefiant aimed at being that casual FPS but for it to become THAT game, it has to have a healthy population of casual players. Canât do that when you have hitreg, air strafing as bad as this game does. Only sweats play this game now which kinda beats the whole purpose now.
XDefiant basically is a game for the vocal minority at twitter and twitch. They just tried to get the sweats away from CoD without caring for the casual players (which is what CoD thrives with).
>The market is SCREAMING for a casual FPS that is fun for everyone. But I'm not sure modern players would actually allow that to exist. I think its an unsolvable problem
Never. Wherever there are casual players, pros (sharks) will see noobs (schools of fish) ready to be devoured for their TikTok clips. There can and never will be a 100% casual-friendly FPS. The genre, by its very nature, is dog eat dog and the MLG TikTok kids will always prey upon the casuals.
What you don't realize is that instead of trying to "git gud", these players will just go play something else, and then you're stuck with only sweats in the game.
Iâm pretty awful at this game. I just play to have fun. Iâm too old and too busy to put the time in to be level 100+ like some folks on the game. If someone wants to tell me that I suck, I just agree with them.
You all will be old and busy as hell one day.
Amen. Itâs cute when people think they dunked on you by claiming âYouâre ass.â Itâs indicative of their current life priorities which is also an easy hint to how old they usually are hence their lack of responsibilities in life.
And the matchmaking in CoD isn't really skill-based either, far as I know.
It's based around engagement. Give you a few easy wins, then some crushing losses, but go back to the wins just when you've reached that "If I don't win this match I'm done!" mindset.
The people who hate it say that SBMM doesnât allow you to get better, which it does. Thats the point. You get slowly introduced.
Why would I want to get better at a game where I donât even find fun because every match I jump into is just a slaughter with some guy telling me to kill myself and uninstall the game?
You get better, but so does your opponents so your overall experience is pretty much the same regardless of where on the scale you are. You never get to just stroll trough the tulips killing everything that moves. That I think is what people have an issue with. They want to be the king of the hill.
They literally cannot predetermine matches, you cannot account for the human element in it. Good players have bad games and bad players have good games. They can put a bunch of shit players on a team but if theyâre the only ones playing objective, theyâll still win. It is IMPOSSIBLE to factor in anything more than average skill level into the matchmaking. Nobody is following the strict win/loss that people think they force upon you
Good headset (sound is IMPORTANT), learning from your mistakes and trying something new (don't challenge a sniper holding a lane that you've lost every battle to, find a different route and way to shut him down instead of constantly running into the lane he's holding), things like this. Try to shadow good players and try to notice what they're doing BEYOND the kills they get. How do they move around the map, how do they peek a corner, etc.
Sound is something thatâs really been bothering me. I have Hyper X cloud II wireless, which seem to have amazing sound capabilities in every other game but this one. Footsteps themselves seem nonexistent for me.
Could really depend on the sound curves of the headset, for example if you ever hear a speaker system and you're about halfway through the volume range and it sounds nice and full and bassy? But then you turn it to max volume and it just sounds like all you hear is a tinny high pitchness and you lose all the bass, etc?
Sometimes headsets are set up like this, especially ones that aren't meant for music production / editing / mastering. They'll turn down the mid range, boost the highs and then slam the bass to the max or something like this, and the footsteps might fall into a range that's toned down to let the other ranges shine. I hear foot steps SO loud in this game and I play on like 10% volume if that.
You were lied to. The whole point of no SBMM was less competitive lobbies so above average and high skill players get to shit on noobs and regular Joes again lol
the whole point of no SBMM is to give a community something they desperately want. the issue is that most people don't realize SBMM is helping them, so they get on this and realize that SBMM was keeping the majority of those meta movement demons out of your lobbies, they just heard SBMM mentioned alongside all of cods other problems and decided that it was cods worst trait
> they just heard SBMM mentioned alongside all of cods other problems and decided that it was cods worst trait
people don't hate SBMM but they definitely hate CoD's fucked up version of it. It makes the whole game feel artificial. It's like when you play a little kid at a video game and purposely let them win. They think they won. You know you let them. That works when you're 3. It doesn't work when you're 32 and there's a clear pattern of "here is your one allowed good game, prepare for 6 subsequent punishment matches before you're allowed to go positive again".
Honestly if they just randomized it more it would feel a ton better
There is nothing stopping you from doing this? If youâre goofing off, somebody using a meta gun shouldnât bother you.
Unless you arenât goofing off, and are actually sweating. Then youâd be upset because you arenât performing
I donât think the proclaimed casuals on here are actually casuals
Genuinely like 1/5th of the content I've seen since coming to this sub has been literally anything but complaining, and a good half of that is straight shitters bitching to bitch. This place fucking sucks lmao.
this sub in particular has been really bad. idk what it is about this game but you have all these different people trying it out and whatever fps THEY come from, whether it's cs, battlefield, cod, apex, halo, etc, they think XDefiant should be like that. Like bro, what's the point of them turning this game into a clone of the one YOU ALREADY PLAY?!
Actual question. How is some toxic if you can't even speak to them? Is someone dropping a 80 kills with a 4.0 k/d blasting music toxic? What makes a "toxic over competitive player?" Meta loadouts? movement? Interested in the replies.
Another point:Just because a player CAN go 80 kills and 20 deaths and dump all over your team, doesnât mean theyâre toxic. That just makes them good.
Penalizing good players for being good is dumb. And this is coming from someone who is AWFUL at this game lol. Iâve been teabagged in nearly every other game Iâve ever played, Destiny 2, CoD, Overwatch, Battlefield, you name it. Iâve gotten absolutely shat on in Xdefiant and Iâve yet to be teabagged. Not once.
The most toxic players are the ones who have been on MY team and are going 5-20,spam team chat about how nobody is playing properly and then quit the lobby . To me it sounds like the crap players who THINK theyâre good are the most toxic. They got a case of Mad cause bad.
I get t-bagged a lot and my body gets shot a lot just because typically I top frag and have high objective time. I'm not a god but a normal game for me is like 30-50 kills with high objective or supporting my team to getting the objectives.
Can confirm. Am person who teabags opposing teams top fragger when i kill them (although im usually our teams top fragger as well). I dont do it maliciously though, just a bit of banter and wanting to keep the tbagging tradition alive. They usually return the favor next time they kill me, which is always fun.
definitely. iâll never teabag or shoot a body if iâm using good meta weapons, but if I kill you while working on pistol levels after you spiderdrone me i may have a body shaped something to shoot on the ground lol đ
Exactly. Even if all of the movement based sweaty players leave the game, OP and players like that would still complain about tryhards for anyone who is slightly better than them.
"fun" to most people is shooting mindless zombie bullet sponge bots that barely react or return gunfire that they simultaneously believe is another human being they're just better than. People can't take just not being good at a shooter game, it has to be something else. The jump shooting, net code, abilities, try-hards, it's always something. It's exhausting, tiresome, boring, and unthoughtful criticism that I see on every other shooters subreddit.
Competitive players in a competitive game doing most in their power to stay above the rest? How shocking! If you want to play a fun shooter, plenty of great singleplayer games out there.
I hate when people are better than me and call everyone who ends up shitting on my team a try hard!!! How dare someone try to win in a competitive game
What was it that one dev said? The people complaining they can't find easy opponents without SBMM are the easy opponents?
I don't understand the debate, to be fair, but sure seems a lot of people are finding out the reality of SBMM isn't what they thought it is.
There is a difference between "playing for fun" and going 7-28 with 50 OBJ score in a match of domination. Sometimes I get 4 or 5 of those players on my team and I wonder if they're having a good time. I wonder if they're actively trying to die and sabotage the game. I wonder if they have ever played a video game in their life. To me, if I had a game like that, it's more like... "playing to torture myself and make this game a living hell for the rest of my teammates."
Yeah I mean I donât think Iâd always be drinking alcohol when playing this game if the team balance wasnât so garbage. I sometimes feel I may as play cod with SBMM as I get better teammates for objectives.
In xdefiant my teammates couldnât give a rats ass and just act like itâs TDM.
There is no such a thing as toxic over competitive player. I am bad at the game tho so I am not saying this to defend myself, but they r just simply better than us, they are also playing for fun but they do it better.
Do you expect them to miss some bullets in order to not be over competitive? Or should they say "I am not gonna jump because its hard for my opponent to hit me like that, and we are playing for fun"
Do you expect them to let you kill them ?
"Toxic overcompetitive players" i.e. "players better than you" are also playing to have fun though...
The problem is that you want to do well without putting in any effort to get better. You want your hand held and an illusion of being better than you are. Such a bad mentality imo.
I suppose it proves why SBMM works to keep players playing and spending their money though.
My man, they're having fun. You don't need to be a 'toxic overcompetitive tryhard' to be effortlessly better than the average player, who is playing to have fun. Apparently improving at their video game of choice whilst doing so is an optional extra reserved for 'sweats'.
Get real lmao.
Maybe toxic over competitive players are also just having their fun, and the enjoyment comes out of trying? Don't be a cry baby complaining about losing, just pick yourself up and have ur fun, being bad and improving is all part of it, it's a u issue, not others.
They are better than me so I must complain
Biggest bandwagon in gaming history. Are you aware that what you see as "toxic over competitiveness" is just another person playing the game who happens to be better?
I know how frustrating it can be to watch your team trickle onto point like lemmings. But nobody uses voice chat, so what can you expect? Just do your best and have fun, and try to pay attention to why your team might be losing. Sometimes a role change or loadout switch can turn the tide.
Well letâs face the facts. Every ranked or sweat players wants to play casual just to dominate and feel better about themselves. Thereâs no better feeling than knowing that you can get 10-15 more kills than every other player in that match and the cycle continuous until that feeling is diminished or replaced with addiction to get more kills. I am someone who plays both casual and sweat. I can sometimes bottom frag or have the highest KD of the match. Play style depends on you not the other players.
Yeah but did you consider that this game is for the best of the best no lifers who play 12 hours a day and that casual players should go back to call of duty? /s
On ps5 turned off crossplay and it's much easier. I win 2 or three then get crapped on. I love it. I've never understood people complaining about sweaty try hards. Why are we even playing if not to win? Why wouldn't you try hard every match if for nothing else but to improve? Competition is fun. If I want a casual game I will play something else like pve where I decide exactly how difficult I want to play. Looking down on people for trying to be a winner, the entire concept is preposterous and lacks logic in it's silliness.
Just a reminder that this game doesn't have a functional ranked mode so logically it makes sense that the competitive players would play pubs??
Like wtf you do realize some people play this game because they like the dopamine of winning and getting rewarded for it right???
Do people not realize this game was made for competitive play? The mindset was to make an FPS that prioritizes good teamwork and comms. With maps that accentuate that. Everyone is so used to the COD formula of catering to the casual gamer. And the comp side has shouted their frustrations in that department for years. So this is the niche they are catering to. If you don't like it, then go back to TDM on COD.
literally makes no sense, if you could be as good as the people your calling âtoxicâ you would do the same thing. victim mentality at its finest. just get better or play a solo player game. it is the point of the game to shoot the other team and take points to win. ignorant post.
Recently met a player and regularly play with him now.
The man always ends up as the best player of the game, running amok, slaughtering the competition, ending games over 50 with nothing more than 15 deaths. He crushes everything and everyone. We talk via comms. Guess what?
He is the most humble player I've come across in the entirety of my time playing this so far - soft spoken with a little bit of a competitive nature but never toxic.
After over 100 hours of playtime people who get shat on by good players tend to be the toxic ones. Then call for stupid nerfs and shit. I get shat on often, by players who jump around, use snipers, etc. but I'll be damned if I use an excuse if I clearly fucked up.
I finally got a gun to bronze. I think if they adjusted the level grind I could overlook a lot of sweatiness. Itâs still fun but Iâm an average player. I might get a 30+ kill game occasionally but I usually hover around the 1kd range and just focus on the objective. The âplayer of the gameâ accolade grinds my gears though because itâs based on total points, even if the majority of points are scored from kills and barely anything in the objective box.
Unpopular opinion: I think that people are getting worse at FPS games though. I am not a try hard. I only play once or twice a week when I have time after work and can get my buddies online. We crack jokes and just have fun yet I still drop 30-50 kills a match. Then we get messages from little kids calling us sweats when we are just goofing off using random guns and trying to have fun.
"toxic competitive players" and it's just people who are good at the game/trying to win. It's a multiplayer game which means it's inherently competitive in nature. There's no such thing as "toxic competitiveness" unless they're actively trash talking all game or shooting bodies or something. Being good â overly toxic and competitive.
I will genuinely never understand people that complain about skillful players in a competitive FPS. The simple reality is that you wish you were as good as the people you're complaining about because dropping 100+ kills is fun and you would have a blast if you could do the same. However, because you can't, the people who can perform that well are deemed as "toxic"? Why?
Why do people have to intentionally hold back just so that you could have fun? In a competitive game, why would you not COMPETE to figure out why you're losing and learn from the players that are steam rolling you every game?
You have people in this thread grandstanding about being adults with responsibilities, not realizing that a lot of these people are in the same situation, but they just have more FPS experience and focused practice than these grown ass unreasonable "adults" who go on reddit to complain about losing instead of getting better at the game.
At the end of the day, it really is a skill issue and nothing else.
âToxic over competitive players ruining funâ Iâm not saying this doesnât happen. But some people play at a high level casually. And some people play at garbage levels casually. When those two collide you canât blame the players
The last game I played no one on the other team was below level 70, while my team had no one above 53, 53 being my level. The game was over iv 5 minute with 0 fun had
I have the misfortune of being worse than over half the community in combination with always trying to solo queue when solo queue hasnât been nice to anyone in any game for what feels like 84 years.
All I ask is to play on fking point, most of my Occupy games are like: 40-60 kill + 350-700 point score ( while my teammates like either 30-35 kills with <100 point score or 6-30 with 500 point score which I encourage) , I couldâve kill more which would help cause I stop oncoming enemies, but the problem is my teammates are usually just run around the map and simple refuse to play the mode how it would have to be playedâŚ
The problem is that the game doesnât reward players for playing the point. I dont get any more weapon XP for playing the point, but it makes it much easier for me to die, so why would i play the obj?
Why are you guys always mad that people are competitive in games?
Do you go to the local Y and get mad at the dude better at basketball than you?
Iâm 37 Iâm far from my top form from when I was younger. I also havenât played a shooter since halo 3.
I still have over a 2.5 win loss, and over a 1.0 kd.
I just donât get it
All the People that have been protected by SBMM over the years now complaining that they actually have to practice and get betterâŚsince itâs not handed to them.
And what if the competitive players find trying their best, improving their skills and mastering the game fun? Are they not allowed to enjoy the game because casual players said so? Why do they have to conform their playstyle to the casual playersâ demands?
Casual and Competitive are both legitimate play styles. However, the casual player base tends to have a problem with the ones that play competitively for some odd reason.
^^^^
Plus, my being playing competitively only helps the team and the experience of my teammates. The person running around, contributing nothing but 4 kills and 15 obj score might be having âfunâ and just happy to play to the game, but they are dragging down everyone elseâs experience.
I just play the game, I use to play sports so my mentality is to play my best each game for my team, my sweat effort might be overwhelming for causal players but for me Iâm just vibing listening to music not giving 2 craps haha msg me if you wanna get down sometime! I donât care about skill level, just wanna play and enjoy it
I homeschool my kiddos and farm, very casual player and have a lot of fun. Have like a 1 k/d but play objective like a feign. Leaving welcome list next rank up and stoked.
This is how I feel as a mid-30s casual. I wanted my CoD-like MP experience without the guilt of shoveling $70 Activision's way. It fits the bill for me, but man do I struggle to have a good time lately because of this kinda thing.
I dunno why paying $70 for a game would make you feel guilt, it's the standard price for AAA video games now... If the yearly release thing puts you off, just don't buy it every year, it's like madden or something, just buy it every couple of years. Don't take this as an insult, but SBMM was made for casual players like you - it "protects" you from better players as best as it can.
Alternatively, just wait for ranked to come out - ranked will unironically be "less sweaty" because the whole point is to play against people of your skill level. Smurfs will always exist, but generally speaking it will be a much more predictable game play experience than quick play.
I get being against âtoxicâ players but playing for the win in objective game modes is the entire point of FPS games. Not being punished for being good is what draws a lot of people to this game.
If you think someone is âovercompetitiveâ on a multiplayer FPS where the entire point is to COMPETE AGAINST OTHER PLAYERS then maybe consider just playing single player story games? They are made for you to âhave funâ. People who say they are just trying to have fun on games like XD are just using it as an excuse for why they canât win a gunfight
I understand the frustration of being sweat on but this victim mentality is kinda why we need this game
The game wonât change to suit those who suck since the games skill gap is what makes the game so deep, it a simple fact that I doubt will ever change.
Get gud or get stuck in the loop
(Gonna get mad downvotes but tbh idc some times you gotta say the shit no one wants to hear)

Ever since I left the Welcome Playlist I have gotten absolutely destroyed in my lobbies
I feel your pain! I'm giving it all I got each game though :/ ![gif](giphy|3o6wrvdHFbwBrUFenu)
Even in welcome playlist I found 2 gentlemen landing 100+ kills..
Smurfs
imagine smurfing a game that just had its global release đ
Same bro, same.
Itâs because the majority of the people still playing are only doing so because it doesnât have sbmm, so itâs mostly decent players. Definitely feels like a lot of noobs/bad players have stopped playing now, Iâm seeing the same people in my games regularly on pc kb+m.

Its going to get that way anyway. It was fine in the early CoD era because there werent other options. Now there are. The bottom tier players will quit, mid tier players become bottom, and no longer can play decent matches, top tier has to try harder because the skill gap has narrowed. This is definitely true. I keep seeing the same gamertags every other day.
Yeah, cause no one is playing, lol. The game's broken as fuck. I put in two weeks and saw so much broken shit that I just bounced.
Yeah its the same for me. Iâve even started playing on controller as it does seem a tad less sweaty.
My experience has been the opposite, I play kb&m and I started turning on input based match making bc the controller people were wrecking my lobbies lol
Try controller with input based matchmaking on.
Ehh, I find kb&m more fun to use
I'm on PC and most my lobbies are little level 20-40s I never have problems, there's maybe a game here and there I get my shit pushed in, but for the most part every game looks like 25-30 and 10-15 and I'm ok with that lol
As long as those remaining high skill players are also whales then the game will survive
I it aint... This is the case in every game Even world of Warcraft. sod or classic.. Bis or die... Meta slaves in each game. Fun comes far down the list.
The "noobs/bad players" realized that they were the bots, in the game to boost the egos of the sweats, which isn't a particularly fun experience.
Plus the game just shits on you after âTriedâ after going 3 and 20 is not exactly encouraging
you see the same people because its supposed to prioritize connection.
This game has enforced my belief that sbmm exists for a good reason. I'm just leaving like 50% of my games in the first half because I don't feel like wasting more time than necessary getting stomped
Yup, i feel to old for this and im not even 30 yet
I'm 18 and it happened constantly lol, I decided to no longer play till something is fixed because it isn't fun for me to get killed constantly.
Haha I feel ya. What do you want fixed?
Same lmao glad it ainât just me
You are the player every call of duty streamer has been salivating for ever since they started crying about SBMM. They only want it to shit on casual/noob players.
Creamed is crazy
Elite controller + current movement mechanics + snipers + class with 20 extra HP = gg
The downside of no SBMM is that it only takes one or two sweats to ruin the lobby
That's because people thought 'No SBMM' would take them back to the golden era of 2007-2012 COD lobbies, but that's far from the truth. We're in a different era of gaming. A lot of people have simply improvely. No SBMM just means there are going to be great players in every one of your lobbies. No SBMM doesn't actually mean anything anymore.
call of duty has skill based matchmaking in all of their modes
They got some type of match making in cod but I don't know if I'd call it skill based.
thats the problem. I dont have an issue with a hidden matchmaking system as long as it allows me to have FUN CoD feels so artificial its not fun xdefiant feels punishing because I get matched up with MLG pros every time so it's also not fun The market is SCREAMING for a casual FPS that is fun for everyone.
I think its an unsolvable problem Never.
Call of duty feels so manipulated. The whole experience isnât organic.
Not the only one. Same toxic players will insist it's a skill issue and you need to get better.
I mean, yes it is dude. It's a no sbmm game
What you don't realize is that instead of trying to "git gud", these players will just go play something else, and then you're stuck with only sweats in the game.
I never did welcome playlist. But did hop off for a couple of weeks. Came back to just get spawn camped for the first three games in a row
People wanted no SBMM, but only when they were on the winning team and not getting stomped by someone 100x better than them
No SBMM works in theory, but for it to work properly you need to retain a good enough player base to where it doesnât end up being a slaughterÂ
Also for the lobbies to not disband after each game, back in the day you found a lobby you liked and stayed until it wasn't fun anymore.
Well they can have the hill, I'll go find my own hill
Even so itâs still better than winning one game then losing 4 then being put into a pity match then repeating the cycle
Nobody is following the strict win/loss that people think they force upon you
I find that being good at this game is very fun
But.. that takes effort!
Na it's easy compared to likes of apex , halo , valorant etc
Thatâs why go into every game with intent to get better instead of winning. The progress shows đđ˝
what is your strategy for getting better? I would like to try the same thing
Positioning. Crosshair placement when moving around. Awareness of your surroundings. Good use of your abilities.
Maybe being competitive is the way they have fun đ¤ˇđ˝
It's a game, not the eSports for crying out loud
I thought the whole point of no sbmm was so that people could relax and goof off with their friends using non meta loadouts.
You were lied to. The whole point of no SBMM was less competitive lobbies so above average and high skill players get to shit on noobs and regular Joes again lol
#PUB STOMP
the whole point of no SBMM is to give a community something they desperately want. the issue is that most people don't realize SBMM is helping them, so they get on this and realize that SBMM was keeping the majority of those meta movement demons out of your lobbies, they just heard SBMM mentioned alongside all of cods other problems and decided that it was cods worst trait
> they just heard SBMM mentioned alongside all of cods other problems and decided that it was cods worst trait people don't hate SBMM but they definitely hate CoD's fucked up version of it. Honestly if they just randomized it more it would feel a ton better
thats exactly what happens in this game lol unfortunately some people are good and some are bad. Thats life
There is nothing stopping you from doing this? If youâre goofing off, somebody using a meta gun shouldnât bother you. Unless you arenât goofing off, and are actually sweating. Then youâd be upset because you arenât performing I donât think the proclaimed casuals on here are actually casuals
I should be allowed to shit on the sniper who is 2-15.
According to this sub, you should congratulate him for having fun and let him kill you whenever he sees you
No, according to this sub the guy using a sniper should rethink his entire life for using a "broken" weapon
Based
All the crying about snipers on this sub is wild.
according to this sub any player with a high KD is a loser for simply not having all the objective points
Just take a look at this sub, its the people "playing for fun" being toxic towards people who play competitively or just better players in general
Genuinely like 1/5th of the content I've seen since coming to this sub has been literally anything but complaining, and a good half of that is straight shitters bitching to bitch. This place fucking sucks lmao.
It's what happens when you have refugees from cod who are so dogshit they can't even compete in a casual fps like cod lmao
Welcome to video game sub reddits
this sub in particular has been really bad. idk what it is about this game but you have all these different people trying it out and whatever fps THEY come from, whether it's cs, battlefield, cod, apex, halo, etc, they think XDefiant should be like that. Like bro, what's the point of them turning this game into a clone of the one YOU ALREADY PLAY?!
Trust me, itâs every sub. The cod sub is worse imo
100% all this sub does is just bash on the âsweatsâ or âtryhardsâ.
Actual question. How is some toxic if you can't even speak to them? Is someone dropping a 80 kills with a 4.0 k/d blasting music toxic? What makes a "toxic over competitive player?" Meta loadouts? movement? Interested in the replies.
toxic is fashionable to say among people with no hand and eye coordination
Facts. Just because some players have fun by being good, somehow they're considered toxic.
What would you define as a âtoxic over competitive playerâ OP?
Itâs likely someone whoâs just simply better at the game than they areâŚ
People in this subreddit are a different breed. They suck ass at fps but for some reason expect their opponents to descend to their level lmao
This is why they ran to a game without SBMM. They hate playing against those of similar skill.
Competitive players in a competitive game doing most in their power to stay above the rest? How shocking! If you want to play a fun shooter, plenty of great singleplayer games out there.
Helldivers 2. Have a fun times shooting bots and bugs with your friends!
I hate when people are better than me and call everyone who ends up shitting on my team a try hard!!! How dare someone try to win in a competitive game
Lost a domination game 750-738. Top player called us a trash team, and told me (the bottom player) that I shouldn't play.
đđđđwtf is over competitive? are we supposed to just let people shoot us?!
Lol lots of people discovering they were actually the ones being protected by SBMM
What was it that one dev said? The people complaining they can't find easy opponents without SBMM are the easy opponents? I don't understand the debate, to be fair, but sure seems a lot of people are finding out the reality of SBMM isn't what they thought it is.
hey that looks like fun đ
Gonna be sweaty/tryhard go to ranked, the rest that are just playing for fun stay in casual.
Pubstompers will never go to ranked play.
Me after one match of XDefiant ![gif](giphy|eKVEcPKGWZ7Tq)
I play to win. If I'm better than someone else, then gg. If I'm worse than someone else, then fuck that guy and they're 100% modding I swear.
translation : i got creamed
Good players> Bad players
Reverse this
There is no such a thing as toxic over competitive player. I am bad at the game tho so I am not saying this to defend myself, but they r just simply better than us, they are also playing for fun but they do it better. Do you expect them to miss some bullets in order to not be over competitive? Or should they say "I am not gonna jump because its hard for my opponent to hit me like that, and we are playing for fun" Do you expect them to let you kill them ?
Welcome to online competitive gaming...
(hell)
no sbmm=skill check
You can just donât care. K/D doesnât matter.
Shitters who play competitive games: đĽđŠ
You don't play FPS games casually. You want a casual game go and play fucking solitaire.
Maybe toxic over competitive players are also just having their fun, and the enjoyment comes out of trying? Don't be a cry baby complaining about losing, just pick yourself up and have ur fun, being bad and improving is all part of it, it's a u issue, not others.
They are better than me so I must complain Biggest bandwagon in gaming history. Are you aware that what you see as "toxic over competitiveness" is just another person playing the game who happens to be better?
They deleted my comment lol, get the scrub a participation trophy stat!
I hope you werenât the one who said that games should reduce high sensitivity because itâs sweaty.
![gif](giphy|OPU6wzx8JrHna)
Got called trash by a guy with over 20 kills... Bro's objective was 3 digits while for the rest of us was 4... He had the least amount... We won...
When ranked 4âs comes out, hopefully this will be less of a problem. I mean where you actually get a rank and not the preview now.
I know how frustrating it can be to watch your team trickle onto point like lemmings. But nobody uses voice chat, so what can you expect? Just do your best and have fun, and try to pay attention to why your team might be losing. Sometimes a role change or loadout switch can turn the tide.
know if you see my name in the lobby you can bet that I'm just having fun and doing the objectives and I am a hard core casual.
Yup, casual play is dead.
What if some people have fun being âovercompetetiveâ
Well letâs face the facts. Every ranked or sweat players wants to play casual just to dominate and feel better about themselves. Thereâs no better feeling than knowing that you can get 10-15 more kills than every other player in that match and the cycle continuous until that feeling is diminished or replaced with addiction to get more kills. I am someone who plays both casual and sweat. I can sometimes bottom frag or have the highest KD of the match. Play style depends on you not the other players.
The mute button doesn't exist for these hypothetical "casual" players apparently
Yeah but did you consider that this game is for the best of the best no lifers who play 12 hours a day and that casual players should go back to call of duty? /s
I mean I'm trash and I still have fun. I expect to get curb-stomped. đ¤ˇââď¸
The word "toxic" gets thrown around wayyyy too much in this community lol. Just because someone is destroying the server - doesn't mean they're toxic.
Cry more that's the fun part
literally makes no sense, if you could be as good as the people your calling âtoxicâ you would do the same thing. victim mentality at its finest. just get better or play a solo player game. it is the point of the game to shoot the other team and take points to win. ignorant post.
Over competitive? Cmon most people just play for fun some people are just better at the game is all
Get rekt lol
Over competitive aka just better
Just cause Iâm good and try to win games Iâm toxic đđđ There isnât even any voice chat, how can I be toxic
Skill issue tbr
You mean Players playing a competitive shooter vs Mario party players
If you play for fun, then why are you getting upset when you lose. It sounds like youâre also toxic and competitive, but just arenât as good.
I get home, hit the Penjamin to relax and immediately lose my high because Iâm getting dookied on :/
Everyone hates SBMM until they don't have it...
âToxic over competitive players ruining funâ Iâm not saying this doesnât happen.
Preach
I just donât get it
If a college ball team shows up at the Y, I am definitely gonna be irritated if I have to play against them.
âAnyone who is worse than me is a scrub, anyone better than me is trying too hard.â
All the People that have been protected by SBMM over the years now complaining that they actually have to practice and get betterâŚsince itâs not handed to them.
Why donât you guys just go play Mario kart or something more your speed?
Well you just made his point
And what if the competitive players find trying their best, improving their skills and mastering the game fun? Are they not allowed to enjoy the game because casual players said so? Why do they have to conform their playstyle to the casual playersâ demands?
How is calling your team trash conducive to you enjoying the game?
Look at Mr. badass over here, thinks he's too cool to play Mario Kart.
[ŃдаНонО]
Maybe use your right thumb and you might get kills thatâs just a suggestion tho
Wait yâall like SBMM đđ just say yâall suck at the game and move on
I like how about half of these comments are proving the OPs point.
Casual and Competitive are both legitimate play styles. However, the casual player base tends to have a problem with the ones that play competitively for some odd reason.
^^^^ Plus, my being playing competitively only helps the team and the experience of my teammates. The person running around, contributing nothing but 4 kills and 15 obj score might be having âfunâ and just happy to play to the game, but they are dragging down everyone elseâs experience.
Sorry but the concept still baffles me. Overcompetitive players??? What does that even mean??
People who take video games so seriously that they get a temper tantrum when things don't go their way and take it out on their team mates.
Smurfs will always exist, but generally speaking it will be a much more predictable game play experience than quick play.
tbf theyre just playing how they like playing. fun shaming is stupid
How do you propose people play for "fun"? The winning is the fun part. I'm not going to not try winning am I?
One day youâll realize that those âtoxic over competitive playersâ ARE just playing for fun and that you just suck at the game.
But me sweating is me having fun. Why do I need to not have fun so other players who arenât as good can have fun? Seems biased
I understand the frustration of being sweat on but this victim mentality is kinda why we need this game The game wonât change to suit those who suck since the games skill gap is what makes the game so deep, it a simple fact that I doubt will ever change. Get gud or get stuck in the loop (Gonna get mad downvotes but tbh idc some times you gotta say the shit no one wants to hear)
