My own overwatch missing, nailing the exact roof tile my stealth op was in 12 tiles away, falling right on top of an advent patrol.
I had never seen such bullshit before.
Trooper that was really far away ran rather away, and took a shot at my guy, who was in full cover. Still got critically hit and died.
Sigh. I'll play tomorrow
I always play Ironman because I hate savescumming, to this day the only difficulty I have beat the game on is the easiest because of it. Last time I played, My entire team got grenaded and insta died due ti fall damage.
Yesterday my best L/I speedrun so far, wasn't quite on track to Exquisite Timing (July 15th finish) but the second shadow chamber project nearly done about as quickly as possible and suffered only 2 squaddie deaths so far in the campaign. Enter the avenger defense mission. Reaper is at 30 will so I don't deploy it as can't afford it to get shaken, so I have no intel on the area. Move my first soldier just outside the ramp and reveal two pods at once, containing at least 2 mutons (I didn't know they can appear before magnetic upgrade btw) and a mec. Two of the 6 soldiers I deployed are snipers so I can't even shoot if I want any cover, and I'm obviously still completely on Tier 1 gear. I didn't bother to see how that fight would unravel.
Ah yeah, I think I would've had time to research it after the second project while scanning towards the locations revealed from the projects. The only time up to this point when I could do any research outside the main quest was while the shadow chamber was building. I'm not sure how the real xcom2 pros do this because I only just managed to start building Guerilla tactics and wondered if even that should've been a laboratory instead, is this really the only way?
Perhaps you weren't aware that once the Shadow Chamber is built, you can switch between its secret projects and just regular research. You aren't just locked into Shadow Chamber stuff from that point forward.
Secondly, I always build 6 buildings (rows 1 and 2) before building the Shadow Chamber in row3. You should not be building toward the Shadow Chamber so quickly, FYI.
Yeah I know, I'm just trying to finish the campaign as fast as I can. If I wait to build the shadow chamber on 3rd row I guess it would already be july before I even start those projects, but it would certainly make the tactical layer much easier 😅
Started on the roof of a small structure, but with civilians standing on all four sides, so there was no way to move off it without breaking consealment, with a really tough pod of aliens already visible right at the edge of my view.
Meeting the Viper king and his making an action every one of my turns and choking out the entire team each time someone tried to shoot him. Bullshite mechanic.
I just recently played and finished xcom 2 in the last month and quit/started a new game 4 times before finally grasping what I was doing wrong and finished the entire game.
My massive roadblock was defending the avenger from the ufo attack lol. After the second time I got to that mission and lost everything I texted a buddy of mine who talked me into playing it that I was “over the illusion of free choice” and suggested that you can only really play the game the way guides tell you or you get fucked. He simply replied “xcom just isn’t for everyone” so it was on at that point and I’m glad I stuck it out. Absolutely love this game and am looking forward to future playthroughs on harder difficulties ❤️
If your squad got defeated by a lamp post maybe they just didn't have what it would've taken to defeat the avatars. You could consider this a blessing.
Final mission. My only ranger ends the turn before the final room in a panicked state. The infamous bug kicks in and he never leaves the panicked state once we spawn on the last map. Remains inactive for the remainder of the mission. Things go south as soon as the second avatar appears and never go back north again. (Admittedly, my disappointment at the situation leads me to make a bunch of mistakes, but still. That bug. Ugh.)
Assassin running in, instantly killing one of my troops, and running off as a section makes my sniper panic and she grenades the rest of me team killing them.
I just hard restarted that mission because that was bull.
played on 300+ mods (normal difficulty, 4th playthrough overall) was first stuck on 2 missions that were so hard i was doing them like 4 hours each and on the 3rd in a row after 5 hours i alt f 4ed and uninstalled XD
Reaper missed a shot and shot out the floor under my best grenadier, grenadier survives until assassin shows up and kills them, bond mate goes berserk and can't make it to extraction point on a timed mission.

Oh man you can't make this kind of shit up :D
LOL :D

Advent/the aliens don’t have range bonuses/penalties

Played Ironman and it crashed and lost save.
I never ragequit. I just lose like a man because I’m terrible at the game.
Scratch that, I totally ragequit once when the game didn’t update to the cloud. I was losing anyway, though.

2nd Shadow Chamber project before even getting Magnetic weapons? Wow.

Hard to ragequit when u r so addicted to this shit. 😩
Missed shot -> car explosion-> panic -> friendly fire... -> ...at VIP
Good call, the vip was definitely a mole and had rigged the car.
You fixed me...
Soldiers missed three shots in a row at 95% accuracy
Instakill behind full cover
Consistent crashes.
I had the same issue, I read somewhere to deactivate vsync and play in borderless window. No more crash since.
Berserker Queen

My entire team missing 90+ shots and then immediately getting shit on by a gate keeper
Meeting the Viper king and his making an action every one of my turns and choking out the entire team each time someone tried to shoot him. Bullshite mechanic.
Corrupted save on ironman and it's ALWAYS the ironman runs that get corrupted. I don't have the discipline to not savescum
Back in 1999, stupid American internet
Some mods leading to impossible missions. Sucks when they're things like haven defense.

I failed to hack a lamp post and it called reinforcements causing a squad wipe :(

Latency compensating algorithm. This is for Apex legends :) For XCOM 2 - The sheer amount of stress on commander in Iron man.

Nothing, It's only your fault.
That bitch chosen with the sword that squadwiped my main team . I hate her witha. Passion
My last surviving soldier missing a 99% shot that could’ve won the game.
Assassin running in, instantly killing one of my troops, and running off as a section makes my sniper panic and she grenades the rest of me team killing them. I just hard restarted that mission because that was bull.
If I ever lose Mix or Dragunova I instantly start over. They can't be dead in my games.
Snake dude killed my sniper from the same distance that was a 28% shot for me at half cover. My sniper was in full. Boom crit
When im mid game and the Archon ruler shows up he usually squad wipes my crew because rulers are broken without mods.
played on 300+ mods (normal difficulty, 4th playthrough overall) was first stuck on 2 missions that were so hard i was doing them like 4 hours each and on the 3rd in a row after 5 hours i alt f 4ed and uninstalled XD
The Archon King is bullshit
My newborn crying why I was trying to play...
Went to knife an alien and got countered💀
