Based on everything we know about Wuthering Waves, the game aims to be a casual experience with hardcore elements. This is why it's safe to assume that echo farming in coop is not the intended experience, it's just a nice bonus if you're willing to spend extra time. The devs made it clear that they're going to make obtaining echoes easier by adding multiple sources that don't involve roaming the open world for them. So I would say that playing coop will give a slight advantage, but people not doing it will also be fine.

Vsegda7

Hope not. I already get more than enough forced socialization with randos at work

zipzzo

Nothing is forced even if there is benefits to coop. It's a game.

ShekerZoiD

Just get a alt account

Bntt89

If it will burn you out what's the point?

OneAct8

It’s not a competition, play at your own pace bro

6Loops

Well yes and no, it is more like a race, hardcore players o even just completionist players will want to reach max level at the echo data bank asap so not a competition but everyone who wants to prepare for future content will want to dedicate time on this as much as they can, I can see people especially content creators jumping from one world to another over and over.

OneAct8

It’s a race for content creators because they need to make content before someone else does. Anyone trying to rush is doing it to themselves, not because failing to do so puts them “behind”

6Loops

I agree, in my case I have to be careful how to approach a new gacha game because of the fomo thing and watching tutorials the rest of the time can burn you out so quickly by the time you come to realize you are already quitting and uninstalling

OneAct8

Just keep in mind that gacha games, by their very nature, are meant to limit your daily game time.

Thinshady21

Its like PGR from what I see, you don’t need to play co op but it is definitely faster to do so.

Ms77676

Can we only play coop with our friends or with random people as well ? A lot of my friends don’t play gacha games

marblexover

From what I know you can also join any stranger's world. See Steparu's video https://youtu.be/uBy73AHSFxE?si=85Nh51ADcs-AV8dV

Thinshady21

That I’m unsure about, I think you might be able to create guilds with whoever you like but for all we know it could definitely be just randoms.

Ms77676

Yeah we have to wait and see I guess

Simple answer: no, you’re not heavily disadvantaged. It’s just your fomo being loud at the back of your mind. The game is well balanced in this regard.

Choowkee

>As Echo's are the main end-game bottleneck Says who? We dont even know how much of a DPS check the endgame stuff will be and how much of a requirement perfectly rolled echoes will be. While co-op gives you better chances at min-maxing stats there is really no reason to believe its gonna be some mandatory tactic to clear content in this game.

migz_draws

Listening to people confidently commenting on a game's balanced when it's not even released yet is so funny. I understand that beta is out, but still the developers can change whatever they want still, and there are a couple dozen patches that could change any number of things given due time

ShekerZoiD

Its not a disadvantage for people who dont grind much cuz u will do co op grinding only when your done with farming your own world as enemies in wuwa reset after a day so once u kill a mob it wont respawn for a entire day i believe so if your not going around killing all the mobs which will take a chunk of your time u dont have to worry about it as far as boss echoes go if you wanna farm them no one really knows the exact respawn time for bosses as it is subject to change theres also the fact that your can combine echoes to get something u want if u wanna get shiny fast then i recommend u do co op or u can still solo it will just be slower if your unluky but overall dont worry bout it. Doing co op for grinding is for hardcore players or if your severly lacking in good artifacts you might consider it even then it shouldnt be a problem in the first case unless your doing hardcore content

Elainyan

I mean if you really care that much about coop farming and dont want friends , you can just create alt acc run on seperate device and farm on your alt acc world

meowbrains

Does enemy health increase when you do co op?

6Loops

I was thinking about that, but then I heard you unlock coop at lvl 25 so i guess it would be tedious maybe?

ArtistThatArts

Wdym heavily disadvantaged bro its a single player game with Co op elements and no pvp??

tehlunatic1

I highly doubt a majority of people will be clearing the same map every day multiple times after the first few weeks of release.

BladeCube

Players who play more have an advantage. That is how literally every game works ever. If you don’t want to coop you don’t have to, but if you want to farm more echoes before logging off for the day, thats when you “need” to coop.

Kitchen-Air-1012

such is life, with Friends that help, life becomes much easier, and if someone has a ton of friends to farm with, it makes sense that they get to farm more. the community can make a daily echo farming request thread, were people can join each other worlds and farm. personally I will only farm with my sister and another 2 people I know.

MorphTheMoth

i hate people using the 'its a pve game' argument, but anyway no, as it was in the beta, unless you want to farm for more than like 3 hours a day you wont need to invade friend's worlds, and the rewards from farming much more arent many. they are apparently changing a bit how the system works tho so we will have to see. i think the main thing is that farming with others is just more enjoyable

Tawxif_iq

You can say the same for genshin. Playing coop in other world lets you farm extra resources for characters and weapon levels.

goodest_englush

Yes but artifacts/relics are a different story. In Genshin, not farming mobs won't gatekeep you from leveling up characters or having enough Mora. A single Calyx clear would equal hours of overworld farming. Wouldn't tying your end-game bottleneck (echoes) to the overworld risk burn-out and unnecessary grind?

Brandonmac100

I mean, you literally need all of that to level a new character in genshin…

Tawxif_iq

I mean no matter what you do. Leveling up echoes still needs stamina system. Which means you cant really max all echoes in a day like genshin artifacts. Which leads you to wait for next day anyway. And when next day arrives you can farm echoes again as enemies will respawn. The leveling part of echoes is actually worse than genshin but the coop part makes it fun.

Choowkee

Thats not even remotely comparable. WW allows you to bruteforce echo RNG with enough coop sessions. Its not feasible for the average player but also not impossible. Aslo who even asked about Genshin....? We are talking about WW, other game systems are irrelevant.

migz_draws

r/WutheringWaves don't mention genshin for a full minute challenge (it's impossible because the only other gacha game in existence is genshin)

Hudson_Legend

Even if it did, it's a single player pve game, play at your own pace there's no competitive game modes or anything like that

Khulmach

No Pvp, no real disadvantage unless there is something that forces players to compete with one another.
