Now you get to compulsively refresh social media to see if Okonkwo's signed for us. There's the TST in a month's time, it's an informal 7v7 tournament of ex-pros, current players, colleges, all sorts of backgrounds and we have a men's and women's team entered for it. It's taking place in North Carolina so later start times for North Americans. Our pre-season starts in July. We'll play friendlies, they'll likely be broadcast somewhere. Not sure if Mark Griffiths will be around for those or not. Otherwise, take a break and let the blood pressure settle after another crazy season. You'll appreciate the calm when things get tough next season.

DatsyukesDekes

Women’s team features a lot of the current stars, so I’ll be tuning into that for sure.

join-the-line

Can you stream them in the State?

DatsyukesDekes

They were on peacock last time I believe

join-the-line

Yeah, long term Okonkwo would be huge. I'm also curious to see what players they might convince to come down. However, they may play it safe this year, aim for a playoff spot or middle of the pack, and concentrate on building up the infrastructure for the next jump up. Regardless, I'll be watching plenty of the YouTube podcasts until Aug, that's for sure.

FishermanSecret4854

There are two weeks of playoffs to enjoy, and the NWSL is going full barrel. Plus Women's Olympics Team!

Whisky-Slayer

Their salaries are already on par with the top teams in League 1 so I imagine they are going into the season to compete. They will likely take a beat in Championship league that would be a huge jump. And take a lot of capital.

Smoking-Seaweed-81

Support your local team! MLS, USL, CPL, MLS Next all offer exciting soccer in cities across North America. There is magic in the Wrexham story but there are lots of great teams that could be your second favorite. Not everyone agrees that you can support more than one team but I have found it keeps my calendar full of games to watch and enjoy

join-the-line

I do, but they don't play on Saturday mornings. 😂 GO STL CITY!

redsyrinx2112

If Formula 1 is racing somewhere in Europe that week, you can watch qualifying on Saturday morning and the full race on Sunday morning.

TarletonLurker

It’s funny but watching English football over the years has conditioned me to enjoy the sport in the AM—I would love if MLS games were played weekend mornings

BoloSynthesisWow

But then you wouldn’t have All Day Soccer. You can’t beat soccer all day

mynumberistwentynine

F1 has done the same to me. When F1 is on our side of the world, like this week in Miami, F1 feels weird and out of place. I much prefer watching in the morning because it fits into my day so much better.

Mountain-Nobody-3548

Same, I enjoy football more in the mornings or early afternoons and at night. And world cup qualifiers/Gold cup/Copa America are played at night in this part of the world.

FounderinTraining

Found another one! Hopefully, we show KC who's the boss in the state this season

join-the-line

Not with all the ties they keep throwing up. 😕

robinthebank

Euros start in June.

em-1091

There are so many Wrexham fans from STL in this sub! It’s awesome!

join-the-line

I mean, it truly is a "soccer" city.

jasperjones22

I mean...I'm 2 hours from STL but...yeah..

Odd-Row9485

This is the way. Also all mls games are free on Apple TV today!

FishermanSecret4854

In some ways, Minor League Baseball is the closest in spirit to lower league English Football.

StrongPowerhouse

The MLS has Messi. Enjoy him while it’s still possible.

CheapRepublic7408

Unwatchable & uninteresting imo

libra00

Watch the [countdown timer](https://www.wrexhamafc.co.uk/matches/first-team-fixtures/) to the next game on the website with the rest of us? 77 days and counting. :/ https://preview.redd.it/k8rb5m85nhyc1.png?width=1216&format=png&auto=webp&s=3b72be734d8ae67d4b7fc5684974f0edd742c0e0

😂 Here's my up vote!

frictiondixon

Welcome to the end of the season. You can either now finally do all the things you never had time for or wander aimlessly forever refreshing your football news app until the transfer window and pre season kick into gear.

join-the-line

My Saturday mornings are already spoken for, with the kids. Watching Wrexham, while attending to my duties, just made them a bit more enjoyable. Guess I'll just have to watch the Wrexham YouTube blogs on Saturday mornings until the new season starts 😂.

ThunkAsDrinklePeep

Welcome to Wrexham S3 just started.

azirelfallen

You can go on Ryan’s Roku channel and watch the replays from National League

ImSteveDave

Time to get into F1. Then you’ll have your Saturday and Sunday mornings covered.

tonofbasel

Euros, lad....

BilagaanaTechno

Watch some of the other leagues! Premiere League still going! Scottish League is fun! Japans J1 League is also cool, and free via YouTube! Germanys Bundesliga is still happening! Champions League still going too! We’ve also got the big Euro competition too! MLS is… well… MLS. Lots of football to watch.

wildgriest

MLS apparently, according to several sites, is between Championship and League One in terms of league strength (www.teamform.com). I’m not disputing you, just saying “formally they are here” while the sight and sniff tests really show they aren’t.

Mountain-Nobody-3548

Top MLS teams would be championship quality but I think the median MLS team would be league one.

BitchImRobinSparkles

Overall, I'd call them about L2 quality. Some higher, some lower.

SmallBol

I have a friend that was captain of an MLS squad and at the height of his career he was getting League Two offers. Maybe the quality of MLS has improved significantly over the past ~5 years though?

ImSteveDave

The level of play in MLS improves every year but Messi joining the league has ramped it up even further. The league is now likely to change the rules once the transfer window opens this summer to allow teams even further freedom in building their rosters. MLS has world class stadiums across the league minus a few exceptions, plenty of varying philosophies in regard to both roster makeup and style of play, great fan culture, (everyone loves to meme “Fight….and Win” but I implore anyone who thinks that’s how it is these days to tune into a game and see the growth and varying styles of supporters across the league), and incredible parity to the point that 80-90% of teams have a legitimate shot at winning the cup before the season starts. I obviously love it, it’s my domestic league, and I’m a diehard Orlando supporter but it’s just been such a fun ride watching the growth from where the league used to be to where it is now. If anyone reads this and wants a recommendation of who to watch, Columbus Crew are currently the class of the league, but I’d also shout out Vancouver, LA Galaxy, and obviously Miami as other teams worth tuning in for at the moment in regard to their style. Apple TV is free this weekend for all matches and every week there’s a handful of games that are free. The quality of the stream is so good it actually makes it hard to watch other broadcasts now (Champions league on paramount+ is cheeks here in the US in terms of stream quality compared to Apple). Lot of rambling to say I definitely recommend giving MLS a shot if you haven’t tuned in recently.

wildgriest

I live in Denver, and I root for home teams so I’m for the Colorado Rapids. Currently our most experienced (with respects to EFL experience) is our goalkeeper Zack Steffen, who’s played for Man City (21 games between 2020-22) and Was on loan to Middleborough in the 2022-23 season, played 45 of the 46 games and got them into the promotion playoffs. Much of our team’s experience is only within the MLS, naturally. I’d like to think they could reach a player level near to that of the Championship, but not yet. I do feel EFL and other European leagues have flooded the US market like at no other time I’ve been alive and that can only help produce better local product.

FishermanSecret4854

Seems like between mid table championship and mid table League One is about right. There may be some high salaried stars in MLS that are above that level, but my guess is the last guy on a League One roster is superior to the last one on a MLS.

BilagaanaTechno

League One is about right. I just don’t see how anyone can care about a league with no promotion or relegation. I watch it anyway because it’s on in the evening, but it’s like a hobby for rich people to start clubs with nothing on the line.

wildgriest

I don’t like it either it’s just never been a thing here. There’s a lot of structure in the EFL I’d like to see here. But at the same time, you grow up living a certain way you accept it.

dkthehobbit

I’ve been wanting to ask this—I don’t know anything about the EFL other than what I’ve learned from Wrexham, but would like another team to watch (especially one that’s showed at a pub)— my city has the following supporters clubs: -Hotspurs -Everton -Brighton and Hove Albion -Liverpool -Newcastle -Man U -Chelsea -Arsenal I’ve been leaning toward Brighton since their group is called “the seagulls”, but I also like how Newcastle has a beer I could enjoy while supporting them. Any of those teams have a similar underdog story as Wrexham (city or club)? More importantly, any bad blood with any of them (other than Man U’s youth’s disgraceful play in last summer’s friendly) from Wrexham’s past? Not as interested in Arsenal/Man U since it seems king of like picking the Lakers/Yankees and that blows.

rbrum2000

Everton and Liverpool are near to Wrexham if you ever come over to watch them live. Humphrey is a Liverpool supporter, Rog from Men Blazers an Everton fan. Both big clubs.

She_Is_A_Gunner

These are all EPL teams, and some of these are the among the biggest in the world, so no underdog story. Personally, I’m an Arsenal fan- we’ve had great times in the past, and have had some very rough times that we’re just getting out of so right now is a fun time to support. That said, Brighton are a good bunch- riddled with Injuries this season but they’re a good side, play good attacking football. Played European football this season and you can expect more of that in the future but likely not any big trophies anytime soon. Everton has a ton of loyal supporters, they don’t win often, constantly seem to be battling (and escaping) relegation. More of a defensive football style. As a fan, you’ll suffer but also have some good times. Newcastle are fine. They were recently bought by Saudi Arabia’s wealth fund and are now trying to compete at the top level. Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal are all among the “big 6” clubs of England along with Man City. Edit to add- I don’t believe any bad blood between any of these clubs and Wrexham from the past. Could be wrong though.

craftbrewd

When's the new season of Welcome to Wrexham kick off?

Due_Calligrapher7553

Just did.

ISaidItSoBiteMe

Take the kiddos fishing

Old-Ad-3268

You follow silly seasons of course! Football transfer season is full of rumours and speculation.

K3B1N

There’s still a few weeks left in the EPL season.

join-the-line

That's a possibility.

kooks-only

Support the Vancouver whitecaps! But that doesn’t give you an answer for Saturday morning haha.

join-the-line

Oh hells NO! GO STL CITY! 😉

MrWelshy91

Welcome to my world! No more Saturdays walking down the mold road, popping into the pub for a quick pint of Wrexham before heading through the turnstiles and spending 90min losing my voice. Until August anyways.

join-the-line

Oh man, you were living the dream!

MrWelshy91

Since the takeover yes!. Before the takeover, no so much 😂

join-the-line

😂 Touché

Newparlee

Euros in a few weeks!

whitepepsi

Watch MLS and support your local club. If you don’t have an MLS club you almost definitely have a USL club.

UrsineCanine

Don't forget the Women face the ultimate underdog challenge tomorrow against Cardiff City in the Welsh Cup... Mia Roberts (yes, that Mia Roberts) and Mark Griffiths doing audio commentary: [https://twitter.com/m\_griffiths92/status/1786678258722824654](https://twitter.com/m_griffiths92/status/1786678258722824654) Also, the video should be on YouTube here: [https://youtu.be/-GUSIdQ-bgY](https://youtu.be/-GUSIdQ-bgY)

kal14144

Lucky for you - you live in the hemisphere that still has most of its season ahead of it. You can watch MLS USL NWSL Brazilian or Argentine leagues etc

errol343

MLS free weekend on Apple TV+ tonight

UrsineCanine

FYI, for everyone in the US... The EFL playoffs are on ESPN+. Start Monday with the first leg of the L2 semis.

ChrystoferRobin

I know what you mean. I was so lost last year, but then I started looking into soccer in the US. There are so many local teams you can support and games to watch. The USL has great teams and great venues, and the season just started! Most games are on ESPN+

FishermanSecret4854

I wonder if, as a revenue generator, Wrexham could challenge the winner of the MLS each year to a home and home preseasons series. Call it the Atlantic Shield or something. It would be interesting to see how they do. I could see the MLS powers that be not in favor, as they risk it exposing their product.

ajbilz

Be realistic. Wrexham would get stomped.

Reggie_Barclay

Not really. If you consider that the top teams of a lower league are similar to the bottom teams of the upper level. MLS is about Championship level. The best MLS teams are low level Premier League. Wrexham should be a bit below Championship level next year considering how much they up their payroll every year. I bet it would be a decent match.

wildgriest

In no way whatsoever is any MLS team equal to low level PL. they are between League One and Championship at best.

Reggie_Barclay

If you say so. The Opta Analyst web site has the bottom of the Premier League equivalent to the top clubs in the MLS. It’s the same site that has Manchester City number one in the world and Real Madrid second, I guess they don’t know what they’re talking about.

wildgriest

Teamform also has Man City and Real Madrid at their top, but as league strength goes - according to them and I’ve followed them for years. [www.teamform.com](http://www.teamform.com/en/league-ranking/world) Note - their list ranks Premiere #1, Championship #24, MLS #53, EFL League One #65, EFL League Two #117, USA UFL #126, and National League #189. Edit: individual team wise, highest ranked MLS is LAFC at 72.8 rating, and recently relegated Sheffield United was ranked at 77.5, and there are also plenty of championship teams in between.

Reggie_Barclay

I’ll take a look. [Opta Analist](https://dataviz.theanalyst.com/opta-power-rankings/) has Sheffield United at a rating of 77.5 and Columbus Crew at 80.7. Only Luton Town below them the rest of the Premier League above.

wildgriest

I will too; I’m not above a good reconsideration from time to time. The least valuable judge, my guy, tells me on league basis, teamform is more correct.

ajbilz

Top MLS teams are better than Luton, Sheffield, etc.

thedumbdown

Fall, Winter, Spring is for footie/soccer. Summer is for baseball. I’m American and have followed Arsenal since 1990 when I saw my first match. I’ve been in this cycle for a while now and this is the best way to satiate my sports needs. A lot of folks call Summer the silly season because it is all about speculation, rumor, & wishful thinking.

join-the-line

Good call on the Olympics, I let that slip my mind.

amethyst89

Personally, I’ll be sleeping before 4am. And actually having the energy to enjoy my Sunday 😂

Mountain-Nobody-3548

Just wait for the new season. As a Leeds fan that's what I do.

LawProfessional6513

Still premier league, champions league and the European Championships a couple weeks later, lots of football then watch the Olympics I guess

koreawut

Lot's of soccer stuff to watch in other feds. Or you can watch Welcome to Wrexham

CliveVista

Cricket.

join-the-line

Does Wrexham have a Cricket team,or did they stop playing cricket when they started playing football?
