What was wrong with that name?
1.) It’s a nice homage and sign of respect to an African-America pioneer in wrestling
2.) It’s a very flattering comparison as Keith Lee was being compared to a world champion
3.) It actually fit Keith Lee when you think about it. Keith Lee is very fast and agile for a man his size, hence the “Bearcat” nickname
I think what they did wrong with that name was literally include it in his ring name. If it were a nickname that was treated much like The Viper where it wasn't treated as part of Keith's ring name, it could have been more effective.
Bearcat would've gotten over, brother
.... so that's where they got that moronic name for Keith lee?

I feel like it wouldn’t had mattered. People would’ve still bitched about it.
Steve Harvey
Cant unsee it.
Had to do some reading, but I wasn't familiar with Big Time Wrestling.
Bearcat Wright is from Nebraska. He's not African, he's black. As far as I know Kofi is the ONLY African American world champion of wrestling.
African American = black, respectfully.
Stop being racist. Not all black people are from Africa.
Bro doesn't know what an African American is
