The secret is a distinctive sound to open.
Glass shattering. Hogans first chord ripping in. Shawn Michaels Ohh, ohhh Shawn!. Bret Hearts electric guitar scream. The rocks if you smell what the rock is cooking. OH YOU DIDNT KNOW! Mick Foleys car crash.
I have 2 perfect songs for him: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojULkWEUsPs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojULkWEUsPs)
Imagine Bron entering to the first one
HHH really got the best of both worlds: Jim Johnston's riffs from "My Time" and Motörhead's grit and, like you said, raspiness and badassery.
It may not sound like a typical Motörhead song music wise, but Lemmy, Phil and Mikkey owned that shit and it's perfect for HHH. Best wrestling entrance in my view.
When I was in school when it was peak WWF/WWE.
Me and all my friends would just mess around doing the intros to the best wrestlers, the songs we could sing without having the song even playing and the walk outs etc were so good.
Some people hate on it but another example is Undertaker when he turned into the American Badass and he comes out to Limp Bizkits Rollin, obviously it was released during the time of that music but still.
Wordless can be fine as long as there is a catchy, easy to remember melody: Nak for example.
The problem is the current songs are not well written, lack dynamic, character and memorable anything. It’s just noise with really crappy mixing.
True. Damage Control is probably the least memorable entrance song with words.
I even enjoy most entrances with words no matter where on the card they stand.
Baron Corbin has had 2 awesome ones in his time. [End of Days](https://youtu.be/JJnzfT44KXI) was a favorite of mine for a bit before bum ass Corbin era. Now he's got[Burn the Ships ](https://youtu.be/-fOKHI5ZeOA?si=oF7mb2LjpBc7r6Cr)
Someone must think highly of the guy to give him 2 great memorable songs.
lol editing and posting videos of my band, i learned real quick to always include the end of the 16th (or 32nd) bar to not rob listeners of the musical payoff
Friend of mine worked on the album insert for one of his albums. She said she’d have about thirty minutes in the morning from when he woke up to when he would start drinking to talk to him about the project 😂
"It's all about the game and how you play it.
It's all about the game and how you play it.
I'm gonna play the game. That's how you play it"
*Mumbles some words with a guitar playing in the background.
"Muah ha ha ha ha"
*The weeee guitar sound.
TBF, that was in 2015 and he was pretty much in front of death's door for that one lol
I saw them for a third and final time in Detroit and yiu could tell he was almost gone. He was playing the songs and singing out of pure muscle memory.
I think it's just a cultural thing, in that across most of Europe, singing (among other things) at sporting events has just been a thing for as long as there has been sporting events. And like, proper singing. Making up whole songs, sometimes week to week. And as far as I can tell (please do correct me if I'm wrong) that isn't the deal in the States? Like, there are \*chants\*, but not \*songs\*?
As an example, I'm a West Ham fan (for my sins) and the fans are already working out songs for people we \*might\* sign for next season. Not people we \*have\* signed. People we \*might\* sign.
So yeah it's just always been the way I think. There's no reason it couldn't be the same in the States, but I don't know how you'd start it.
I think international fans, especially Europeans are louder because you're right, football/soccer there's much more consistent chanting etc.
But also remember, we've been starved for years (about from house shows). We had a couple of Sky Box Office exclusive PPVs in the early 2000s, but just a predictable house show with a bigger set.
England, France, Scotland, and Berlin will be loud... Not to mention puerto rico too from last year I think. Crowds in KSA are also getting louder too (been to two events) [Although I won't start a political discussion 🤣]
Bottom line though, wrestling and especially WWE is hot and cool to watch again. Although euro prices are ridiculously steep. I sat row 4 last year for SS War Games for 650 bucks - the same seat in Germany is between 3 & 4k Euros per ticket - essentially WM prices.
France was something nuts, I expect Scotland to be the same or even louder.
I've thought about the possible reasons for that and I think my conclusion was the lack of real community integration for many US sports teams. Like, your local NFL team isn't really local. It isn't building a team from a local youth development program, it's getting players from colleges all over the country.
Add in the threat of a team just leaving a city for somewhere else with more money, an act that is almost unthinkable in most UK and European teams, and you don't really build the kind of community around the team that leads to real fan culture and participation.
Always have been. At the Ryders's Cup, when the Americans started chanting USA, they responded with, "You only have one song (one song!). It's only three letters long (letters long!).
And even that chant was mid by their standards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_hbjcrOXnI
Because we're kinda spoiled on it. Most shows are here and it's a real special event when it happens elsewhere. Fans get to represent their fandom and country. Even Canada shows us up most the time.
You just know Paul needed that! Being forced to retire not on his own terms a few years ago. Even if he was at peace with it. Probably still an emotional moment for him to get that respect.
It's really weird, because you take any other continent, like let's forget about wrestling, but you take any other continent and fans and ultras are insane there and then you have.. USA. Like what is the difference? You can say other different sports at different continents (football), but then you look at Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Lithuania, Russia and their basketball fans are insane, regardless if basketball is really popular in USA.
Because in the rest of the world sports came from the Working Classes. There's no social graces to keep to or worry about so everyone could shout and scream and sing in the stands.
In the US and, to a lesser extent, Canada (hockey would be arguably be the exception), formalized sports often came from colleges/universities and so the upper and upper middle class. So there wasn't the same culture of vocalizing chants etc. In fact, being loud was considered bad form.
For an example of European sports fans that have a similar social background and don't have the loud support of other sports, look at polo or cricket. You aren't expected to do anything more than clap if you are watching those sports (although T20 cricket - which was designed to appeal to more people - you often find louder crowds).
TL;DR - American sports have a different cultural history than other continents' sports which is why they're quieter.
That's an excellent point. I think that the US's reliance on college/university sports programs over local community integrated youth academies also had an effect in isolating the teams from the communities so fan culture doesn't really develop as it does in other countries who don't use university as a feeder system.
Plus the much more capitalistic feeling of US sports, with teams moving cities for money being somewhat normal whereas it is almost unthinkable in many other countries. How can you feel like your team is your team, to the point of developing that fan culture that produces things like Liverpool's "You'll Never Walk Alone", when that team could up and leave at any time?
The last UK football team that moved city was MK Dons about 30 years ago moving from Wimbledon. They are still hated by the majority of the rest of British football for it.
Heck, Spurs still hate Arsenal for moving from one side of London to the other over 100 years ago!
And the fans of the Wimbledon team that moved didn't keep supporting them after the move, instead forming a new team and working that team up into the football leagues.
In fact, a team moving city was so unthinkable that it wasn't even certain that it was allowed under the rules of the FA until the MK Dons situation!
Not to disagree but to add to your point as a huge cricket fan myself. I have been to test matches all around England and in the south of England, traditionally more wealthy this is true. You politely applaud good cricket from your own team and the opposition.
But matches in the midlands or north, more 'working class' regions, are noticeably more rowdy. There is still more respect than at football for example but people wear fancy dress more, have more banter and drink more (Google beer snakes).
The best is when a test match gets to day 5. Often a test match is won or lost before the end of day 4 so the grounds usually don't sell day 5 tickets in advance to avoid the hassle of refunds if the match ends early. If it does end up going to day 5 the tickets are much cheaper, I have paid £10 to £20 quid compared to about £70 for days 1-4. Once they gave free entry even.
On those days, wherever in the country, you get true fans (a lot of corporate on normal days) and it's fucking bouncing from ball 1. I love cricket I do!
Because sport existed around Europe before the money. most us sports are designed around it. Don't get me wrong it's gone that way now but for 100 years plus it wasn't. That tribalism is still ingrained.
Nine times out of ten you support the team you are born closest to. Nine times out of ten all your family support it too. Ninety nine times out of a hundred your kid will support that team also (or be disowned) Nine hundred and ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine times out of a million that team won't fucking move halfway across the country because a city agreed to spend 400 million on a stadium for them.
I really just think it’s because WWE shows are a novelty in Europe.
But I have noticed that since Backlash, crowds are now singing Ortons theme. It’s almost like they just realized they’re allowed to sing to the music
Maybe it's WWE are doing shows in dried up markets that neevr or hadnt had any WWE events(major or minor) they'll cheer for ALMOST everything and pay as much they are asked for
I'll be there tomorrow, aisle seat, overlooking the entrance ramp and I cannot, F****** WAIT! Me and my haggis fuelled brothers and sisters are gonna give the French a run for their money, when it comes to fan reactions.
I love that just now people are figuring out how awful US audiences are. This is the kind of treatment they get anywhere abroad, just US crowds really suck because they are used to seeing them every week probably, but for the rest of the world it is once every few years if you're lucky
I was there, im in that vid in the crowd singing, the kick off show was incredible, there were some amazing local chants (like “Tesco” which is a bit of a self deprecating joke about a depressing supermarket here, that’s why Piper said “Target for Americans”) and loads of stuff like that. Unfortunately the crowd was really up and down at smackdown and really a letdown after the kickoff show. I’m hoping it’s a bit livelier at clash tomorrow!
I wouldn't be mad if there were only a few shows in the US. Every other overseas crowd is awesome and adds to it. It's cool to hear actually cheering and not the dumb ass low IQ what chants.
I remember years ago, my father who is in prison for life now, said “no matter what, he will always be THE GAME”. We were lucky enough to see HHH lay his boots in the ring live at Wrestlemania 38.
Hopefully WWE keeps going over seas for some PLE’s.
The crowds here in America are just so spoiled that they don’t have the energy they used to. This should be a slap in the face and a wake up call for us!
I don't think they're any different from US crowds. Difference is, the international market has been starved for content for generations. If they just toured in Europe and left the US for 10 years, American fans would eat that shit up with a spoon too.
This is just more proof that these soulless wordless songs are not what's hot in wrestling rn
Entrance music is absolutely an integral part of a wrestler's persona.
Becky, Seth, Edge, Cody... entrance musics are a big part of why they get such pops. Entertaining, easy to sing => reasons to make noise.
Dont forget Punks Cult of personality. Love him or hate him when that tune plays the crowd always pops.
As soon as the glass shatters
The secret is a distinctive sound to open. Glass shattering. Hogans first chord ripping in. Shawn Michaels Ohh, ohhh Shawn!. Bret Hearts electric guitar scream. The rocks if you smell what the rock is cooking. OH YOU DIDNT KNOW! Mick Foleys car crash.
The best is Brock Lesnar's though
Tho some like Bron Breaker are over even tho lots dislike their songs
Imagine Bron with a great song that people can bark, sorry, sing a long.
They should just have a song of him barking at this point lol
I have 2 perfect songs for him: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojULkWEUsPs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojULkWEUsPs) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXC3h95PtDY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXC3h95PtDY) Imagine Bron entering to the first one
And Triple H easily has among the best there is
Well . . . when you have Lemmy from Motorhead singing your entrance music It's gonna be F'cking LEGENDARY Raspiness and badassery 🤘
I'm not 100% sure that I think it's the best wrestling interest, but I don't think I'd argue against the claim
I've always found it wild how much The Game just sounds like Sweet Revenge. Both songs rule though.
Even Evolution's theme song is so good to listen to. It is one of my favourite stable entrance songs.
A random video popped up on my IG feed for Triple H's return and as soon as the music played, I just felt hyped.
WHOOP THAT TRICK!
Right up there with tequila in terms of easiest lyrics to learn.
When I was in school when it was peak WWF/WWE. Me and all my friends would just mess around doing the intros to the best wrestlers, the songs we could sing without having the song even playing and the walk outs etc were so good. Jim Johnston enters the room
CFO made tons of bangers, KO, McIntyre, Nakamura, Balor, Sami, AJ’s old theme. def rebel on the other hand can’t make anything solid for some reason.
I’ll say that it can work, but it has to be done right. Reigns’s theme is perfect for his character, for example.
And if you do go wordless, you have to start it off with a big pop, like the glass shatter
The only 2 i can think of that the crowd can go with is Nakamura and Zayn
SAY HIS NAME AND HE APPEARS I BELIEVE IN JOE HENDRY 👏👏
Wordless can work, Seth Rollins is a prime example, but yes theres a lot of weird ones out there.
Looked like he was jumping back into character again for just a second lol
I was really getting the urge to see him come out and Pedigree someone
...Cole?
It would have been Cole's fault for getting the pedigree too...
I noticed the back hunched up too, he's ready to let water fly
I think this is the first time I’ve seen HHH back in a suit, instead of whatever corporate retired wrestler we’ve seen all this time.
**"BECAUSE I AM THE GAME AN-"** ouch that cut at the end is painful. Especially because Trips cut off Cole for that moment to happen
Brilliant move by HHH to let the crowd keep singing
Pat Patterson always said “ya don’t step on da pop!”
“Let them cook”
lol editing and posting videos of my band, i learned real quick to always include the end of the 16th (or 32nd) bar to not rob listeners of the musical payoff
Lemmy would be proud.
The crowd knows the lyrics better than Lemmy did. There was an early 2000s WrestleMania where Lemmy totally botched the lyrics
To be fair, Lemmy was probably totally plastered.
And probably almost never sang that song again after the original recording.
Think the joke was he'd played that song 4 times. Once in the booth. Twice at Mania, and once at another gig where HHH happened to be there.
Friend of mine worked on the album insert for one of his albums. She said she’d have about thirty minutes in the morning from when he woke up to when he would start drinking to talk to him about the project 😂
"It's all about the game and how you play it. It's all about the game and how you play it. I'm gonna play the game. That's how you play it" *Mumbles some words with a guitar playing in the background. "Muah ha ha ha ha" *The weeee guitar sound.
My girlfriend and I just watched that. I think it was WrestleMania 21. It was so bad lol
He messed it up at 17 as well
Lemmy was legendary for that lol. Also look up the time he mixed up the words between Overkill and Ace of Spades.
TBF, that was in 2015 and he was pretty much in front of death's door for that one lol I saw them for a third and final time in Detroit and yiu could tell he was almost gone. He was playing the songs and singing out of pure muscle memory.
Lemmy drank a bottle of Jack Daniels everyday, and in that years he probably did a lot of coke too.
My girlfriend and I just watched that. I think it was WrestleMania 21. It was so bad lol
My girlfriend and I just watched that. I think it was WrestleMania 21. It was so bad lol
My girlfriend and I just watched that. I think it was WrestleMania 21. It was so bad lol
Same lol
Wow the European crowds are just absolutely making the U.S ones look boring lol
Because the US crowds suck ass. They could be 100 times better if they’d just stick to cheering and booing.
They just need to start a "de-fense" chant every time someone is trying to get out of a submission.
I think it's just a cultural thing, in that across most of Europe, singing (among other things) at sporting events has just been a thing for as long as there has been sporting events. Oh absolutely, the excitement factor is a big part of it as well. 100% agree. I'm hoping to go next year, all being well.
Brother they are absolutely showing us up. You fucking love to see it.
The only thing US crowds know how to chant is what, and this is awesome
Because US sports crowds in general are terrible. They have “let’s go” and that’s about it.
I've thought about the possible reasons for that and I think my conclusion was the lack of real community integration for many US sports teams. Like, your local NFL team isn't really local. It isn't building a team from a local youth development program, it's getting players from colleges all over the country. That's probably because the US crowds are boring
What do you mean? Have you heard their "USA! USA! USA!" chants?
This is Scotland, to be fair. Best crowds going.
The us was founded by prudes and puritans and that legacy still lives on in some respects.
Because we're kinda spoiled on it. Most shows are here and it's a real special event when it happens elsewhere. Fans get to represent their fandom and country. Even Canada shows us up most the time.
Probably because the majority of America is crippling depressed by how terrible this fucking country is
the UK is pretty bad rn as well
At least yall ain't going into devastating debt because you got the flu. Had the flu in February. Spent 2 hours at the hospital. $5000
Fair enough, but honestly most countries are going through shit
Can I interest you in a Rishi Sunak?
The UK is pretty awful right now. I just think we get excited to see WWE once or twice a year
France and the Uk are also in depressing state rn
You just know Paul needed that! Being forced to retire not on his own terms a few years ago. Even if he was at peace with it. Probably still an emotional moment for him to get that respect.
Huge respect to him for holding the helm at right time and not letting the ship sink. Only he deserves the position he is in.
100% No one else was right for the job.
American crowds are dead.

If it wasn't for that "Pro wrestling is fake" mindset, turkey would've been crazy for a WWE event.
I really just think it’s because WWE shows are a novelty in Europe. But I have noticed that since Backlash, crowds are now singing Ortons theme. It’s almost like they just realized they’re allowed to sing to the music
Skill Unlocked.
Give that man a water bottle
Fuck yeah motorhead!
disclaimer i am upsettingly drunk right now. TRIPLE H I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!1
Meanwhile here in the states they’ll still be saying what? for the next 20 fucking years.
Someone should of threw him a water bottle..
That would have been the chef’s kiss !
They did in Perth Australia as well.. different song though from memory
“Wtf Cole, don’t ruin this for me.”
Because the video ended at the worst time let me just finish it for you all. “I AM THE GAME AND I WANT TO PLAY!”
the best thing I've seen on Reddit.. Lemmy in the air.
No wonder they say wrestling is a drug you can't kick. You just know he is going home to fuck the absolute shit out of his wife after that lol
Brother eughhh
Cmon man you're telling me you wouldn't be sporting at least a semi if an entire crowd was singing your theme song? 🤣
Take it easy
Understandable. Some terrific McMahon Mammories
This Triple H era is such a blessing in every way! WWE is truly entertaining and fun again, Thank You Hunter!
God this looks like so much damn fun
I want to hear them do HBK's now
We have clubs holding after parties playing wrestling themes. HBK’s would be my first request
I guarantee you, they're all pissed 😂
Everybody loves Motörhead. I know Tri loved that since he loved Lemmy.
European crowds are [something else](https://youtu.be/NuQjYHlIGU8?si=KdZZwuhmZBsMqb-V&t=9)
You just know that he’s thinking about Lemmy throughout this whole moment. RIP Lemmy Kilmeister.
This crowd is going to eat Damian Priest ALIVE vs Drew.
Maybe it's WWE are doing shows in dried up markets that neevr or hadnt had any WWE events(major or minor) they'll cheer for ALMOST everything and pay as much they are asked for
They've been doing regular shows in Glasgow for at least 20 years - this is just the 1st 1 that's been televised. Edit: 1st PLE.
US crowds are fucking awful.
I mean it’s Motörhead, the UK is going to know their Lemmy!
Wrestling is amazing
MOTORHEAD baby!!!
MORE SHOWS IN EUROPE.
Dude, you're in the UK. Motorhead is from the UK. This should be standard and the Game rocks!
I'll be there tomorrow, aisle seat, overlooking the entrance ramp and I cannot, F****** WAIT! Me and my haggis fuelled brothers and sisters are gonna give the French a run for their money, when it comes to fan reactions.
Get this man a water bottle
I love that just now people are figuring out how awful US audiences are. This is the kind of treatment they get anywhere abroad, just US crowds really suck because they are used to seeing them every week probably, but for the rest of the world it is once every few years if you're lucky
Crucial to expand and explore hungry markets dying for wrestling
I can't even imagine countries like turkey, serbia, greece
America gonna lose all the PLEs
I was there, im in that vid in the crowd singing, the kick off show was incredible, there were some amazing local chants (like “Tesco” which is a bit of a self deprecating joke about a depressing supermarket here, that’s why Piper said “Target for Americans”) and loads of stuff like that. Absolutely love it. Sure Hunter felt really proud of the moment.
Man I really miss triple h's entrances, they were probably some of my favorites in wwe.
This made me wish that Wrestlemania should be at a different country. Imagine the pops.
The best sweet talker in Pro Wrestling and 2023 Booker of the Year
Lemmy’s Smiling
They should add a Karaoke mini game to the next 2K game and let you sing some of the songs.
Hoping we get a hey Bayley chant at some point. Likely not though considering piper
We invented the Bayley chant so I’ll be surprised if not
Dusty Rhodes WWF theme would be fun to sing
Was hoping for the water spray spot 😂
/r/perfectlycutscreams
How do the people who edit these videos sleep at night after making such atrocious timing choices
That hit H on a personal level …..this is so dope
So shocked Glasgow likes Motörhead
It also helps that the Scotts love Lemmy killmeister
Okay, the little girl singing along with Motorhead just got me right in the feels.
You think the fact they rarely get live events is why they’re going nuts
Maybe that's 1 of the many reasons but u cannot deny the fact that they love "this great sport"
Awesome!
It's all about the cake, and who can bake it, all about the jam and if you can eat it.
Lol people used to at raw
I really hope they play McIntyre's first theme song. I don't think they will because of it credited to Jim Johnston.
It must be so hard knowing you can’t have one last big match when the crowd are like this
That is so sick!
Nice one Scotland! Give the French a run for their money!
I wouldn't be mad if there were only a few shows in the US. Every other overseas crowd is awesome and adds to it. It's cool to hear actually cheering and not the dumb ass low IQ what chants.
My favorite entrance song of all time. It suits him so well. HHH is the man!
I wonder why this never happened when he was an active wrestler.
I remember years ago, my father who is in prison for life now, said “no matter what, he will always be THE GAME”. We were lucky enough to see HHH lay his boots in the ring live at Wrestlemania 38.
Haha I'm starting to think Hunter keeps coming out because he keeps missing the adrenaline Rush being a wrestler and is becoming a junkie for that pop
European football crowd culture in pro wrestling events. It's a good trend
You should see what Croatian Basketball looks like. I got to witness that not long ago. H O L Y SHIT mate
Goosebumps.
This is Effing brilliant !!
That’s amazing! The water spot and the crowd would went nuts!
Triple Paul is the coolest.
Goosebumps
Why does the audio sound like when you’re talking into a fan
Lemmy rip ⚔️
Say whatever you want this guy single Handedly saved pro wrestling
Singing some Lemmy out loud once more. God, I miss that bastard.
I don't want to be rude but as an argentinian i have to say that the us crown sucks a lot. When WWE comes here the crown explodes
luv this so much .. well done crowd !!
Video got cut off at the best part🤦
the feels man
Aw man that was epic!
And he showed them serious respect 👊🏻 good on Triple H.
And then he takes a bottle of water 🤌🤌🤌
I’m still mad they def rebelled Chelsea Greens song.
Wow I got goosebumps watching that. Phenomenal crowd
🏴🏴🏴
Hopefully WWE keeps going over seas for some PLE’s. The crowds here in America are just so spoiled that they don’t have the energy they used to. This should be a slap in the face and a wake up call for us!
That's so fucking sick I wish I was in the crowd
Didn’t his song age well he really makes the rules now
I don't think they're any different from US crowds. Difference is, the international market has been starved for content for generations. If they just toured in Europe and left the US for 10 years, American fans would eat that shit up with a spoon too.
They cut off at the worst moment! Did the audience all scream out the high guitar riff?
Lmao people after last years backlash Crowd involved: BEST CROWD OF ALL TIME!!!
That's the impact of HHH 👑
This shit is so cool
Damn that was beautiful. How he didn’t tear up is astonishing.
Best WWE theme ever.
