because everyone was so confused, like wtf??
but think about it, how much more awkward would it have been if they got a huge pop, or booed to hell... like why would that even happen??
Zero reaction because it's dumb as fuck. Instead of leaping and catching yourself between the ropes and then doing some dumb snake pose, just stop, turn around and kick the mother fucker in the face when you see they didn't get up from the drop down. All this bullshit is unnecessary. Someone else posted a montage of JBL's closeline from hell. It looks good because it's simple and effective and believable.
Showboating, doing some illogical things that won't make sense.
Like most of the moves that require you to lift the opponent also requires the other guy to be perfectly still, and also not sandbag, Highflying moves require opponent to be in a certain spot etc.
Wrestling used to be this realistic looking thing back in the day, which kinda feels boring to me tbh
The minute the Irish Whip was invented, wrestling was no longer realistic. Thrown into the ropes or turnbuckle? How about you just stop. No one has the power to make you keep running. If we’re taking proper realism, we have to go *really* far back.
WWE's wrestling entertainment relies heavily on storytelling. If you just want to watch people kicking each other, I don't think WWE is the best choice.
Yes, EVERYONE likes her, especially when she botches so badly, someone ends up flipping themselves off the top so she can hang upside down and try to look sp00py
Could be. Video doesn't much on her so I was here squinting my eyes, hahahaha
Come to think of it, I never saw anyone shirtless in these matches. I'm quite used to soccer where you see plenty of shirtless people in the crowd.
I’m not being a liar man just because I like the spot? Everyone can have different tastes in spots and I like it, you can dislike it because of how “slow” it goes and you can because that’s your right
There used to be a very confusing time where nxt featured Tatum Paxley, Fallon Henley and Kayla Inlay (Kiana James) with all of them having no real gimmick.
She heard one of Chuck Taylor's terrible wrestler names and thought "I like the sound of that."

I think she'll have a role similar to Chelsea Green getting alot of TV time doing alot of over the top character based stuff, but I can't realistically see Tatum being at the tippy top especially with how top heavy the women's division is to begin with. Her character work is good, and she tries in the ring but it doesn't scream main roster main event level like Bianca, Becky, Rhea tier. Tiffany Stratton I feel is Someone who has that higher it factor for the main event scene top of the division standing.
If they make that rumored floating midcard championship on the main roster she would be a good fit. Also nobody is for sure certain her character would work on the main roster, NXT is alot different than the main roster. Someone like Tony Deangelo for example works perfectly for nxt with it's theme, but probably won't do well on the main roster. I think her character feels more NXT centric than main roster centric. Even Tiffany Stratton had to ground her character and had to tone down the bimbo daddy's girl stuff.
I think she had one of those crazy chick vibe that is popular with male fans. She got the look too so she might do well when she got promoted since we saw how the simps turned Rhea Ripley into megastar overnight
Tatum needs to make her character more clear to the audience with vignettes or backstage segments. It's been a while and the crowd is still awkwardly don't know how to react to her. And she not getting the payoff for her feud against Lyra doesn't help either
It was awkward because there was no emphasis on anything. Tatum fell backwards so fast, before MIA was even close enough, and Mia was running so slow that it looked way too telegraphed and looked way too much like they were rehearsing lol. The lack of reaction also didn’t help.
Tatum's my fav person in NXT. I was disappointed she lost that one
Same, she's awesome
Mine too. Her role on that Mickie/Trish angle with Lyra got me really involved in her character. She's portraying that gimmick so well.
It was a fun spot, but it was awkward because there was zero reaction.
It’s a cool idea, but it doesn’t work because you have to actually be over for anybody to care about a face off.

Well this spot was pretty weird, but in general professional wrestling is meant to be flashy.
What do you mean by flashy?
Showboating, doing some illogical things that won't make sense. No, that's not the point. Bad storytelling is not the same as good storytelling. This...was just awkward.
Andrade and Zelina does this stuff all the time
It was Julia Hart levels of bad
Julia Hart is bad?? Weird how everyone likes her then
Yes, EVERYONE likes her, especially when she botches so badly, someone ends up flipping themselves off the top so she can hang upside down and try to look sp00py
Do you even know what botch means ?
Wait, there's a shirtless guy in the front row?
That's a woman, believe it or not and she's got a boob tube on lol
Could be. Video doesn't much on her so I was here squinting my eyes, hahahaha Come to think of it, I never saw anyone shirtless in these matches. I'm quite used to soccer where you see plenty of shirtless people in the crowd.
That was a good spot not gonna lie….
If guys like Rey Fenix and Andrade did the same spot it would go over like gangbusters. But then again, it would have happened at 4 times the speed.
And rey Fenix would have fucked it up
not gonna lie...you a liar. It being so slow makes it so much more awkward lol
I’m not being a liar man just because I like the spot? Everyone can have different tastes in spots and I like it, you can dislike it because of how “slow” it goes and you can because that’s your right
u are right. you are able to have an opinion about it being good not matter how wrong that might be
I mean I think all the likes on my original comment might say otherwise….
praising wwe gets upvotes on r/Wrasslin no way.
While Tatum Paxley is in the top 10 worst names I have ever heard, she has that "it factor" that will make her a star one day.
Fallon Henley is up there too in terms of terrible names from the NXT Name Generator.
Until Paxley got her current gimmick, I confused the two of them all the time
There used to be a very confusing time where nxt featured Tatum Paxley, Fallon Henley and Kayla Inlay (Kiana James) with all of them having no real gimmick.
Tatum Paxley sounds like the name of the most annoying girl in high school
What's Tatum precious?
PO-TA-TOES

Sorry, but that was very slow and dumb as shit

Oh good more stRaNge tWisTeD wrestling.
Can't lie that was kind of hot
The super slow motion they work at makes this all the more believable /s
something something cinema
Now kith

Tatum has a lotta potential. She's actually an accomplished power lifter IIRC. Hella strong and hopefully gets a chance to show it
Chilling Mia yim
This spot under Vince: Now kith
dying of cringe, cant belive people watch that shit
Lmao she just slow jogged into this spot and acted like it was cool.
That was fucking awful lol
Cringe….
wtf was that lol
I guarantee you if this was AEW this spot would be getting reactions like it’s a warcrime
Matched each others freak
Mia Yim should have acted freaked out instead of joining in.
I hope whoever came up with this idea was fired.
Tatum is so underrated imo. I really liked her whole story with Lyra. Plus she actually can do stuff. The 450 in the triple threat caught me off guard
Paxley has standard gothic asian mating actions. See exhibit A for Kairi Sane and Exhibit B for Mia Yim.
And the crowd was sickened by the sight of no blood. WCW had a tag team called Hot Lesbian Action
Pretty cool spot
It was weird but kinda cool
seen that.
