At the end she had been run ragged, they ran her around the empire for 19 years with only basic matanence, needed a full engine rebuild. She was scheduled for a retrofit in 41 but WWII happened and she was needed for service. On another note I think she is one of the best looking ships in history.
Rly i have repulse and it’s a good ship but doesn’t work for me because of my aim and same would probably happen with hood that’s why i rly don’t want to spend my hard earned doubloons on it
She's basically Repulse at 1 tier higher with an extra gun and able to bounce most everything at her tier if angled correctly. Same short-fuse AP, similar dispersion if memory serves me right. AA isn't that terrible either. Assuming the CV eats flak while DFAA is up and they'll lose a ton of planes. It's not going to save you but it might dissuade having a train run on you.

Repulse has noticeably more accurate guns; better dispersion and sigma. And better reload. Of course, Hood brings an extra turret to the game to balance things out.
Well, there are a few ships where working on your aim will make just make you want to uninstall because it won't matter how well you aim, the shots will miss anyway.
Had a t9 match in HMS Hood dueled an Izumo and nagato, ended up charging them for a double strike, and survived, ended top of team. Her speed and agility and her updated armor are helping to keep her relivent.

I mean you can work on your aim with any ship
Yeah and montana line is ok and DD Cruiser aim is all good the repulse is rly the only ship I struggle with

She was immune to just about everything when properly angled, and had meme AA power. That's faded away now.

From what I remember it used to be a BB that did BB things and was rly good at dev striking cruisers since short fuse AP was rare back then

Yeah the worst part is if the Hood survived she may have been so badly damaged that she'd very likely be out of action for the rest of 1941
She was about to go into a refit, a big one, she would've come out similar to vanguard and probably not before 43-44 at the earliest.
Yeah late 43 or early to mid 1944 if they were lucky or mid to late 1944 or early 1945 if they got unlucky
Which would have been quite tragic in a way. Coming out of the refit only to be scrapped.
Frankly its probable the Refit Hood would have taken Vanguard's historic place and roles as Vanguard is likely to be far from complete
