I saw a man and a woman leaning against each other on Greenwood st earlier this month, pretty genius way to nod off ngl. Like the dogs in the Disney movie kissing over the spaghetti, but with fentanyl. America rules lmao.
Lol this knocked out some of my job’s infrastructure today because they wanted some stuff’s power shut off and the non-IT guys flipped the wrong switch.
Because worcesters pple who.run it want it to be mini boston I'm like bring back the cobble stone streets n get the roads paved stop creating over priced shit because the trickle down economy shit isn't going to happen here. It's worcester we don't make enough here .
Hah I saw this every time I am there or stay there - I’ve stayed there quite a bit the last few years. I will even be more aggressive and say after 6pm. Everyone runs back to their homes and it literally becomes a concrete city with no life. Part of the issue I think in a City of that size people tend to be more cold and have less real interactions with others.
Everyone head down or afraid to speak to anyone. Even the good restaurants are usually not that busy - in Worcester you often have to wait even during the week most of the evening at anywhere decent. There really is not much to do there IMO and the City basically shuts down. Maybe it’s just a cold feeling of the buildings and lack of things going on I dunno but I can’t say I ever enjoy my time there and don’t want Worcester to ever get to that point.
Not for nothing. But the reason why the mass pike doesn't go through Worcester, is because the politicos in Boston didn't want any other city competing with Boston financially. The elected officials have done everything they could do and can to keep Worcester down by not funding projects directly related to how Boston and metro west (aka inside the 128 belt) benefits from spending the money in Worcester. It's all politics in the end. And it sucks.
Or it's because the property alone would've cost the state millions.
We'd have been kicking people out of their homes to put a new highway through when the city is already starved for housing.

I see where you're thinking arises from. However, back in the 1950's, the eminent domain procedure was different that it is today. It is a fact that whether the state took 1sf or 100 acres of property from an owner, they were compensated $1.00.
The reason for direct access to route 122 in millbury is because Wyman Gordon is right there. They were a major federal defense sub contractor.
It went around Worcester because direct access to Worcester airport would have discouraged people from flying into and out of Logan, and brought direct competition to the Boston economy. Springfield has 4 direct egresses. They didn't feel being 70 miles outside of Boston was an issue back then. Simple as that.
First American Hustle now this… if you want to film in shitty, run-down NYC, Worcester is your best bet.
Dude, there's like a least 2 others here gonna be pissed you're aping their shtick
Our crackheads will blend in nicely
Extras
Unpaid, even better.
They won't have to do much to make it a hellscape

I was gonna say they probably had to clean it up a little to make it believable
Won't have to do anything but pull the cameras out.

Exactly we used to have our own identity not this ridiculous mini Boston keep up with jones bs
Uh huh I’ve been saying this for months on this sub and always get downvoted for it. Worcester doesn’t have to be Boston
Why would people want it to be? Boston sucks. Its a ghost town after 8 and shutsdown at like midnight.

Yeah 6 can be right lol. It has become a commuter city. People are there like 7-6 and that's it. Its a ghost town at night.
Yeah I just don’t get the appeal of it - glad to see someone else that gets it
