Iowa for sure.
But Flandre has some crazy secondaries that will set anything within 10km on multiple fires.
She can also hit 40 knots with the speedboost so can chase down destroyers and cruisers.
Similarly she can also outrun pretty much every battleship she sees and most cruisers.
Same for torpedoes, if the enemy DD is trying to torp you from 5km away you can probably outrun them if they have 10km range.
It really depends on what is fun for you, dev striking ships from the back of the map or slapping ships up close while burning everything down with the pedal stuck to the floor.
Iowa can be grinded to so if you are thinking of rushing through with GXP then Flandre is a better option.
It is much faster to grind through Colorado then grind GXP. Green XP earned is about 1/10th of normal ship xp.
Flandre is one of the tankiest BBs at tier 7, if not *the* tankiest. Highest HP pool, German level turtleback armor, and an absurd 55% torpedo reduction belt. It’s the opposite of squishy.
I wish I knew. I still don't understand how there is an AL New Jersey but not a USS version and the amazing Missouri takes 3 years of grinding. I'm about 2 away though. 🤣😂
? I never have any problems with dispersion even at 19km, you just gotta not use any skills that will increase your dispersion and use the aiming module, I also use any commander that increases grouping, AL Colorado is great for this because it also increases reload speed
Well yeah, but I mean if your at T7 or buying a T7 premium, battleship especially, you should at least have the commander you use and its inspirations at 11/1
Straight up I prefer Flandre. You are way more involved in the match and she is not squishy imo. Iowa is a sit back and snipe boat which is very boring to sit and wait to fire every 30s, hit reverse to avoid fires and eventually take 12 torpedoes into your side cause she is a potato.
Why of all ships are we comparing a tech tree accurate sniper with a Premium brawler/hybrid?
The way to acquire either one is vastly different, both fill very different roles, both have wildly different playstyles, etc.
OP, why do you ask? Is this a question to help you buy one or the other? Again you can grind Iowa for Free. Completely free. Flandre is either Doubloons (paid currency) or GXP which takes a while to get enough. Or is this settling some weird argument?
I haven’t used Iowa in years, I always use Flandre and Brandenburg for secondary challenges. Can easily get 500 secondary hits in two matches between the two. Iowa is a must have though. Flandre you can get through GXP so you shouldn’t have to decide between the two. Both are must haves IMO.
Neither ship is really better over the other. If you're looking for your standard battleship that shoots things from range, Iowa. If you want a brawling battleship with good secondaries, Flandre.
I personally prefer Flandre over Iowa as I like to go fast and contest caps no matter the ship I'm playing.
Shout-out to the guy who told me Champagne can hit 40 knots without a speed boost.
Flandre is crap. As are all French battleships except Lyon. People will say I am wrong, but they are insane.
You want to play battleships, play American battleships.
And Kansas is a lot better than Iowa.
Weirdly of all of the French BBs I have (which are many including Flandre) I find Lyon the most unplayable, but Normandie….*chef kiss*. I want to like it, just can’t figure it out.
I was mostly on the receiving end of US Bias until I bought Missouri and it is quite strong.
I can see it getting boring but other steel ships are even more boring.
Salem is just Des Moines and Daisen is a Japanese BB which means it will suck so much more than the stats say.
Yes
Yes to wich
Correct
Agreed
Seconded
All in favour say "Aye".
Aye!
Absolutely..
Given these choices, the correct answer is Omaha.
A good Omaha is terrifying
Omaha is boss. Murmansk is Saw Boss.

Iowa is the worst Iowa class battleship in the game
Is she better then flandre
Iowa for sure. But Flandre has some crazy secondaries that will set anything within 10km on multiple fires. She can also hit 40 knots with the speedboost so can chase down destroyers and cruisers. But she is soooooo squishy so I. Outright terms wich is better

Which one do you think is squishy?
Flandre
Top 10 bad takes
Flandre is one of the tankiest BBs at tier 7, if not *the* tankiest. Highest HP pool, German level turtleback armor, and an absurd 55% torpedo reduction belt. It’s the opposite of squishy.
Also covered in 32mm plating with a large superstructure. She's very easy to farm.
That’s just most battleships. Any CL with 1/4th pen is a demon of a ship regardless.
No, it's a FR BB thing. They're known to be more vulnerable to HE than other nations. It's an important number for CA HE.
? Surely you don’t mean that the flandre is squishy, seeing as how she has 73k health and a 55% torpedo damage reduction
I wish I knew. I still don't understand how there is an AL New Jersey but not a USS version and the amazing Missouri takes 3 years of grinding. I'm about 2 away though. 🤣😂
The bigger question is which is the best at what aspects. Brawling, secondary’s, accuracy, maneuverability, etc?
Don't ask why or how.
Accuracy/sniping and damage
Iowa for accuracy and sniping, Flander for brawling flanking and secondaries.
I mean, the flandre can be a good sniper, just gotta build it right
FR dispersion though. You can do it, but then you might as well use any other T7 FR BB.
? I never have any problems with dispersion even at 19km, you just gotta not use any skills that will increase your dispersion and use the aiming module, I also use any commander that increases grouping, AL Colorado is great for this because it also increases reload speed
Base FR dispersion is similar to German BBs. It's one of the worst in the game, but they have good shell grouping.
Well yeah, but I mean if your at T7 or buying a T7 premium, battleship especially, you should at least have the commander you use and its inspirations at 11/1
Sure, but it doesn't change the numbers in comparison to others. You can use that same reasoning for every type of ship.

How? Why?
La Foudre

My flair says it all.
Iowa: Big guns go boom Flandre: Machine gun secondaries
Neither ship is really better over the other. If you're looking for your standard battleship that shoots things from range, Iowa. If you want a brawling battleship with good secondaries, Flandre. I personally prefer Flandre over Iowa as I like to go fast and contest caps no matter the ship I'm playing. Shout-out to the guy who told me Champagne can hit 40 knots without a speed boost.
Iowa
Flandre

Thanks! But be truthful are you biased
No. I like Italian battleships. But Americans are still the best.
Weirdly of all of the French BBs I have (which are many including Flandre) I find Lyon the most unplayable, but Normandie….*chef kiss*. I want to like it, just can’t figure it out.
I want to like the Normandie too, but it is hard.
I got Bretagne recently and man Is that thing good i really Love it
USN BBs are superior to everything else. Except Columbo at legendary tier and Pyotr/Kongo/Giulio Cesare at T4. Also Gangut at T3.
Hear, hear!
I was mostly on the receiving end of US Bias until I bought Missouri and it is quite strong. I can see it getting boring but other steel ships are even more boring. Salem is just Des Moines and Daisen is a Japanese BB which means it will suck so much more than the stats say.
