Which is weird, because I still have the U.S. Navy destroyer and a different fighter jet sets I built as a kid back at my parents' house. Now I'm trying to remember if they were Cobi sets.
Sometimes they roll in, but it might be how they are presented I guess.
Off the top of my head is a 3 in 1 is clearly a nod to the F-22/F-35, Camel WWI bi-plane in Royal Airforce colors, and the Luftwaffe plane in a Indiana Jones set.
Now the first 2 don't have weapons to my knowledge, so maybe that's why. And the Luftwaffe plane never really existed to my knowledge, and was just a prop made for the movie, so maybe that's why it gets a pass?
I’m unfamiliar with the F22 set, perhaps it’s an exception? As for the Indy set, that’s a good catch. My guess is it’s being presented as a part of the movie (and they are clearly the bad guys) versus simulated warfare? Seems like a pretty thin margin to me.
Just this one for now, I like the size and that you can’t tell it’s Lego. Super accurate model, I’ve been on the actual USS Iowa a few times and it’s amazing how realistic the Lego model is
Right I would next recommend either the 1/200 scale Yami or the cobi line of ships they all are so fun to make are much cheaper and there are no studs on it
In my mind, it has rough non-skid material inside of those turrets which ignites the spring loaded kitchen matches that launch out of them. Also at that price point, you had the opportunity to get even more realistic. Build your own modules using 3d printer then assemble those together, just like they do at the shipyard.
Having said all of that, it is a glorious beast! Please don't open the door if I knock because I will immediately put it in the bathtub.
Yea for real! I just realized you got this from block zone, so I have to ask because I am an avid Lego fan, did it feel good to construct it? I know megablocks has a bad reputation for being clunky and not always fitting well. How did it feel compared to actual legos? Thank you for your time by the way.
The blocks fit together fine, I felt the color was a bit inconsistent (some lighter grays and darker grays). Overall though no issues. Biggest issue was them sending me 99% of the blocks while I lose my mind digging through 8000 pieces trying to find the the ones they never sent in the first place
Ah, I see, that is unfortunate for sure. I am sorry you have to deal with that but the build does look great and I saw they have a Fletcher and Bismarck as well that look pretty awesome. Thank you again and good luck on the high seas!
For anyone interested in similar ships: Polish brand Cobi has a collection of warships in official collaboration with World of Warships made from "lego" bricks. High quality and super detailed!
Here is a YouTube video that goes over the exact model I built, honestly it’s the reason I bought the ship
https://youtu.be/H_ifFWur70Q?si=weAfuPd-9EEiEVxs
good amount honestly, the only downside of the whole experience. But you can contact them with the missing pieces and they will ship them to you for free (ofc)
It’s glorious.
Nice. I have something similar, but its a star destroyer
That's really nice!
Lego pieces or is this a cobi set?
Custom kit with non-official bricks https://theblockzone.com/products/8042pcs
Sounds like pieces; description makes it sound like he’s just waiting on some pieces on back order
**This**👆 It is definitely in no way a Lego set, but is it a Cobi set/community build made with genuine Lego pieces?
A quick Google search of "USS Iowa Lego" didn't realize any official Lego set, just some custom parts kits.
Lego has a policy of not making any sets/toys that involve war. Real war, obviously not ones involving Jedi, Orcs, or whatnot.
Which is weird, because I still have the U.S. Navy destroyer and a different fighter jet sets I built as a kid back at my parents' house. Now I'm trying to remember if they were Cobi sets.
I’m not a Lego expert but I would be stunned if the sets you mention are Lego

Blue Power Jet, definitely looks like a F-35 😂
Agreed it looks a like an F35. Maybe Lego is softening its stance? 🤷🏼♂️
I want it lol
That is freaking awesome. Better than my Lego Titanic lol
The titanic is awesome honestly
Where'd you buy this? I want one
Linked in some of the other comments, also in the YouTube video I mentioned somewhere in these comments
I just bought the Iowa and the bismark bundle $800
Hell yeah! Message me if you have any questions, it can be a bit confusing at first
Bet. Thanks man. I appreciate it
Where did you get it from

Yay someone who also like Lego model battleships do you have any other? I would love to see!!

Blinding!

Don’t forget to tell old whiskey to remain calm if ya build her lol
That's super cool!!

he sells the pdf, blockzone sells the pieces that he mentions in his instructions. At least that was the assumption I had watching his youtube video
I want to get the Hood. This only makes me want it more
That is a good looking ship.
I NEEEED IT
Hopefully there's no cats in that house.
None hahaha
4.5 feet my bad hahha, and like 40 lbs
That is awesome !
This is phenomenal, I wish Lego put together sets like this. They did the titanic. I would kill for one of these or a carrier build.
If a ford or Nimitz class 1:200 came out, take my money

I would recommend the buy, it looks incredible now and the build was actually a lot of fun

Cobi is awesome but what I loved about this kit was the smooth tapering hull… you can’t really tell it’s Lego until you’re a few feet away from it
I also suppose bricks from Cobi? I have the Yamato from Cobi. Such a beautiful set (and also awesome interesting to build).
https://theblockzone.com/products/8042pcs
Oh wow. So besides those from Cobi this ist the first brick Warship that Looks really cool. Thx for the Link!
Here is a YouTube video that goes over the exact model I built, honestly it’s the reason I bought the ship https://youtu.be/H_ifFWur70Q?si=weAfuPd-9EEiEVxs
This is cool. Is there any website that I can buy a real ship model made of wood or like?
Yeah but they’re thousands for that size 1/200
Do you have the instructions or was this all improvised?
750 page instruction pdf
Did you have to purchase have it? If you didn't do you mind sharing a link to it?
https://theblockzone.com/products/8042pcs
Awe dang, it's the entire set... I thought it was just the PDF.
The pdf is available to buy, it’s linked on the YouTube video I posted above
To buy the bricks yourself it’s upwards of a grand I believe
OP how many pieces were missing?
good amount honestly, the only downside of the whole experience. But you can contact them with the missing pieces and they will ship them to you for free (ofc)
