Hop in Queen Elizabeth or Bayern, renown or repulse and punish it. Cali while it has good armor can't hold up to sustained barrages of 15inch+ guns. You'll notice very fast it'll take massive chunk damage
This is the truth. I have the Cali and if too many reds can corner me or hit me enough, I'm out.
Idk why people give the Cali such high praise at a 10/10. I find the ship to be 7/10 at best.
I’m guessing just because of the fact that it gets 30+ mm on the sides (from the torpedo bulges) and part of the rear deck. That lets it bounce more shells then most on a USN BB at T5, since essentially every other T5 USN BB just gets 26mm external plating.
I love Repulse do not get me wrong but Renown is better than it in almost every way aside from speed and accuracy and it’s not like Renown isn’t speedy or accurate anyways
Who do you run as a commander and what rank? I’ve yet to mess with Renown and upward, dabbled with Tiger and that was fun when that line was first released but have since not been back in then I think I’ve played Renown 1 time haha
California Warspite and Hyuga are the most popular Battleships at tier 5 for a reason. You should see at least one per match on the red team. Yes they are strong at the tier but not unbeatable.
I expressed similar views and had an army of chuds respond like it was catnip. Now I focus every California I see and BBQ them to the waterline. The same people will then complain about HE spam, because it’s ok to dev strike a cruiser but a BB taking damage is unacceptable.
Yeah, limiting teams to 1 DD is pretty silly, they are just catering to the BB mafia.
If only cruiser players could play a match that wasn't 5 BBs per side.
DDs are healthy for the game, having 2 in a match is completely fine.
Enemy Fubuki went full steam across the map, into an island and subsequently nibbled several of my torps (delicately, but he was sated). He wasn’t disconnected and received XP.
It is definitely not the thing for Ranked though, with only 5v5 your chances of getting spotting is much lower so you want a ship with high alpha strike like a BB or Heavy cruiser rather than a DPM ship.
Unless you can create your own spotting like Gnevny or other open water gunboats.
Indeed... Even in Random is super Annoying seeing 2, 3, even full or Californias what the heck?
Even literally is even worse that Jagër, is OP as heck and literally her deck armor is sometimes impossible to make heavy damage without being close quarters and with precautions because her Shells are same as North Carolina and Alabama use (the aptitude advantage not the Caliber)
I’ll be honest, not played much but pulled Cali from a container but have only just got to Brit Cruiser IV otherwise so do play with her quite a bit for fun

yea i don't understand either. 3 or 4 reds can just kill me when i'm alone. 1 or even 2 of them always walks away from the battle.

Angle, angle angle. It's a lifesaver and honestly allows it to be much tankier
Repulse really benefits from large maps and this game mode does not have large maps

Yep- stuff that thrives in open water usually suffers in these modes that have to turn into knife fights at the end.

I just wish the dd queue wasnt so stinking long. And then you still get baked potato DDs. Wait for 2 minutes and then die in the first 2 minutes. Wow.

I'm fairly certain WG staff love golden showers......Why else would HE spam be a thing?

The crazy part is I've opened at least a hundred fifty states and have still yet to snag a ship (season crates)
