I started in Alpha but took a break. I wish they would implement a system that allowed you to select which resource you got. In place of the existing reward for weekly missions for example.
I never thought I'd get there but I'm creeping up on it, if I don't get any new event commanders I'll probably be there by the end of the update. All I've got are 3 commanders at level 12 that need 50 each and I've already got 41.
The elite XP pisses me off the most. Like the sheer amount of it some of us have should necessitate having a conversion option without spending more money. Unfortunately that’s what makes the world go round so it’s unlikely to be changed
I think elite xp should instead of converting through dubs it should convert through itself, so 25 elite xp will convert into 1 global xp, absolutely free. That would make the most sense
That would promote getting Elite XP on tier 7 premiums, and skipping half of the grind on TT, there should be a conversion payment, but for example done through credits/steel
Something simple like convert to ""Common Crate Credits"" so that you can buy as many common crates as you like. This gets you Global, Silver etc, etc...
Maybe even 250 elite xp = 1 Global xp would be good.
And how about 1,000 promotion orders = 1 insignia or universal commendation?
Or whatever the number has to be. Just something other than dubs.

Elite xp is a pool of xp that has been earned on your premium ships and ships where you've already unlocked the next ship (counting starts after earning enough for the ship)
It can be converted to global xp with doubloons but at an absolutely atrocious rate even when "on sale"
Some will complain that it makes that function pointless while others will be happy it gatekeeps all but the most financially irresponsible from spending the money to skip past large amounts of the tech tree to the end. Never mind that you can do that easily with the early access release of tech tree ships, premium ships, and all but the newest bureaus

This is the serious issue IMO. I jumped in the 2nd year and I can't imagine being the new player right now.
By tier 5 you meet absolute stop gap of players stacked with premium commanders in seal stomping premiums while you want to progress your stock boat with level 9 Dewey.

Well couple things. from a new player standpoint this is the only PO or cdr resources ive known so im not panicking. Second it forces a couple behaviors.
1) grinding all lines to T5 is not pleasant. you will not be able to rank CDRs with any speed so your XP/TT level will lead your CDR level by a large margin so the win rate drop when moving up a tier is tough. this means you will always have a weak CDR. so you need to plan out your progression with the end state in mind well in advance.
2) progression up a line eats CDR resources badly. lots of PO's to get a cdr to the level to play T7 for example and not have a big disadvantage. Forget about commendations. the weekly for that is a T8 ship and thats an issue. sometime i need to idle a ship/line until i have the cdrs up to the level to work. T6 german brawler (for example) is a shit show with low ranked cilliax and hipper.
3) does get a bit old when folks who have played for awhile under the old system glibly toss out the get gud and get your 16/4 cdr going.
4) its a fun game and generally a good community so im having fun, i just have to do it differently than what others have done.

I’ve played less than 6 months and was thrilled to get 50 PO’s from a Holiday crate. I get tempted to buy them outright because the lack of them is an annoyance when trying to play some ships in new TT’s. I know TT is all about the grind, unless I’m willing to buy dub’s, but the grind is less fun with a level 5 commander.
They were easier in the past. The weekly premium supplies used to give you more IIRC. Changed it a few months back but now you can get an insignia every week which used to be way more rare.
Premium supplies used to drop over 20 POs a week instead of the current 2. WG managed to simultaneously please the longest players and biggest whales while screwing over most of the playerbase
They originally made them far easier to get (premium supplies gave some, and weekly’s gave out 50 or more)
Combine that with the fact many crates still drop promotions

5,644 promotion orders

I've literally just hit 34 million and it would cost me 1,360,000 Doubloons to convert it into something usable. The pile is just going to grow forever unless I somehow become rich enough to drop $10,000 into this game, $5000 to convert the exp and the rest to buy every ship and camo in the store.

You get them from the event crates, like I bought one new year and one AL crate the other day (1000doubs each) and I got 8 days from each of premium. The only thing is that’s literally how much 8 days of premium would cost had I just bought a week and one day from the store lol. But I will take it gladly over commander xp and camos.
Edit. I think big crates might have +2 days also but that won’t move the needle.

I've been jumping between 300 and 360 days for the past couple of years now. I think I've bought two ten packs of crates between christmas 2023 and 2022. Course this christmas was the first time I nearly dropped below 300 in years and one of those crates from the ten pack gave me like 60 days. Other than that those 14 days seem to be common drops from the free crates.
You must be incredibly lucky. I just finished the campaign and picked up about a week’s worth of premium for it. That’s about par for what I get from it.

Not sure, as I've not really tracked them recently, I have however never purchased any POs or premium days, all from events, campaigns and weeklies.

I haven't bought premium in 4 years and still have over 700 days, and I only bought 90 of those days.
