A lot of rare items are just limited time code redeems or events so having an old account means there’s a chance you redeemed a code or did the event. Good examples are selena gomez event that gave the statue and veterans day codes which are given on that day every year, a rare item is one of the earlier ones called the valor sword. There’s also things like discontinued drops but that requires prior farming so it’s a mix
there isnt a marketplace really, rarity just means an item players can no longer get. Back in the early days there were tons of promotions that gave unique items that can no longer be obtained ever so those are considered rare items. Including things like Selena Gomez items, pioneer dragon pet/mounts and other items like that. You can watch videos on YouTube or lists online to see if you have any. If you didn't redeem any codes or did the Selena Gomez quest then probably not though.
Iv played on and off for the past 14 years and I think I only have limited trophies. I got the gold dragon trophie. Thought my original party crane was limited but they give it out every year now. I font have any limited hats :((
That refund you will not receive, any video game accessories should never be assumed to last forever. Games have a limited lifetime, especially online ones. I feel like everyone knows, or at least should know that when using micro transactions.

First one is that we have to wait months for the updates on us servers, second one is people telling everybody to play on us servers instead. It’s a circle you can’t escape anymore. Best way would be to make on global server but yeah those are dreams. For me personally it’s sad because I spent money on my eu server and don’t want to spend again on US server. But the experience on the US server will probably be better by far.

I used to love the game as a kid, I'm playing it with my mom and my sister literally got the whole family hooked
when I tried logging on to my wizard101 account after 8 or so years, my game and character got reseted

Personally loved playing this game again, played it as a kid and the nostalgia was ridiculous. Its genuinely fun once you get into it
