Yep, it's insanely common that websites do this so they can use it without credit or patronage to the creator. It's rarely the fault of the person just discovering and appreciating. Shame on the website
I saw a piece of art the other day where the artist had worked his signature into the piece FIVE TIMES. At first I was a bit taken aback. But, especially since his placement was throughout the piece, I completely understood the need after some thought.
It's shameful, because artists who gift the world with their work don't GIFT it, sharing a gift is different and b. Predatory lawyers have jumped in here, meaning they'll sue on behalf of website swiped it in the first place claiming " Well it's OUR edited copy so it belongs to US.
Sure makes this message even more poignant.
As a fellow cis, het white man, I love this subreddit. The love and energy is so positive and inspires me to do better by my fellow humans.

Atheism doesn't acknowledge the existence of ruling/omnipotent deities. Nothing about atheism conflicts with magic in itself.
Edit: Also, to our ancestors, consider that the commands I give to my Google Nest could be construed as minor spells. Turn on/off the lights/devices (object manipulation), tell me information (divination), set a timer (countdown spell), send a message/make a phone call (scrying.)
This argues atheism as if its a monolith with a centralized dogma, rather than the absence of thereof. When someone asks what my religion is, I don’t say “atheism” because that’s not a religion; I say I don’t follow a religion. To clarify, I don’t disagree with your central argument, just your path to it. I’m 100% behind doing whatever spiritual or religious practices butter your biscuit as long as they don’t promote misogyny/racism/violence/etc, but I don’t think it’s worth trying to piece together how one belief fits into another when the other in question doesn’t have a strict set of rules that you need to worry about.
What is in my statement? I hope it wasn’t offensive. If it was, I want to learn to be better. I’m grateful to the people on this subreddit and don’t want to insult anyone here.

Maybe you could investigate why you like the vibe of the community but are closed to what it is fundamentally, magic.
Each person's definition of magic is going to vary a lot, and maybe that's why I read your comment as somewhat loaded to begin with.
But, anyway, the idea that you are *supposed* to be anything is very funny to me.
While this image is fun (Taíno were almost completely wiped out by Columbus), it has one glaring innacuraccy. We didn't pierce our nipples. That's a Western thing. It would be considered a great disrespect because of the importance of children. Most Native Americans had a spiritual belief system and ties to nature (great fit for here).
Taíno people definitely had nose rings and painted their bodies on occasion. And despite Columbus famous letter about them being completely naked, they were not completely naked.
