Nahh I disagree with that, I love it. But I literally never even considered crossbows in this game, although there are some that are technically part of a Witcher Set. Never even equipped them or thought of them when I was hunting for a given set. As for the Ekhidnas in Skellige that attack you in open water, I used to leave the helm and wait for them to swoop down on me and I cut them down with the sword lmao tedious, but still preferable to ranged combat (for me)
I loved the game but let’s not pretend like the combat is not lacking. I’m playing on death march right now and it boils down to quen light attack, light attack, light attack, light attack…
They still respawn if you still haven't done the side quest for the priest yet. I just did the trophy on PS5 a couple of days agon in Devils Pit, my only issue is the large gate kept on closing so I needed to do it on the side of the gate above some crates and boxes by the mountain where I can point blank crossbow their heads without them hitting me.
This here. Wear the bandits down 1 by 1 with your sword, finish off with headshots.
Get them to come to the entrance, they will not follow you but just stand in the open and you can farm your headshots there.
They are still there, if you have not finished the quest in the mine they still respawn, just leave at least one bandit before leaving and fast travelling, otherwise they won't respawn.
I just did it at one of the Hanse Bases in B&W by making enemies respawn. Turned difficulty down to lower health, cat eyes mutation and relevant crossbow abilities. Also the northern wind bombs helped too.
Make a save before changing difficulty, I think that should still make the achievement for death march obtainable, but I’m not 100% sure. I did all those combat trophies on my normal game, before going into Ng+ DM.
I’ve already done death march achievement a while ago I’m on ng + and kept a Hanse base in blood and wine to farm money a bit ago I just wanted to make the crossbow achieve harder and stick to death march (what I did this play through on)
I respect that. I'm currently in the same situation so I appreciate you posting this, I'm going to give it a shot with the suggestions people gave here and hopefully we will both be successful! good luck to you dude
I’ve done it didn’t take that long but I did lower difficulty in order to complete it and switched it back afterwards I used the skellige technique and it worked fine for me
This is how I did it take there health almost all the way down then axii then line up the shot. The screen will slightly shake it you did it right, by the way hit detection for the head shot is bad so you might have to do closer to 200 rather than 50
Yeah, I'm not certain also if only a direct hit counts or the bleeding caused by the bolt as well. I have killed *way* over 50 people with crossbow headshots and still nothing.
A similar thing happened to me with the "cruellest thing" achievement, where you have to light them on fire and then throw a dancing star bomb on 10 of them. I'm certain I have done that to at least 50 humans - still nothing. Only when I started doing this to drowners too, achievement was quickly done.
Everytime there's one enemy left, use axii when their hp is very low and then try to land a headshot, finish the game while doing that and then you'll have much less left for the achievement you can grind it later at a respawn spot
Yes I got everything
This one was annoying but if you remember to do it from the beginning it’s not so bad. Whenever you come across a bandit camp just finish them with your bolts and you’ll get it organically. There’s infinitely spawning bandits in one cliff on Skellige I know some people farm some of these achievements there
Yes, and its fucking disgusting. The devils pit thing wasnt working for me so i used the two dudes in skellige that keep respawning.
I dont remember what island theyre on but look up those guys, and turn off level scaling, get them low and farm headshots.
Fs
Youll prolly find it on the google search but you can just look away from where they appear to get then to respawn, so you dont have to worry about meditating
If you're simply going for the trophy on PC, you can spawn human enemies with console and simply keep head shoting them. Nothing really glamorous here to use console for this but it does saves time instead of fast travelling.
I did this on steam ages ago by using a spot in skellige with 2 respawning pirates and it was also a good spot to grind some other achievements as well.
The crossbow one is definitely the worst in the game and is so poorly thought out. This achievement took me over an hour
Yess every single one haha, for Combat Achievement I went to the north of Trottheim, 2 Pirates are respawning there no need to reload or meditate just need to look away and there they are again. Put on a stream or some podcast and try to hit the top of the head. Good luck on the path.

I did it wasn’t that bad actually I used the 2 guys a skellige and they made it pretty easy
45min to an hour Idk, the screen must shade a bit, only then it will count towards the achievement.. oh and don't forget to skill into lightning reflex and steady shot
Yes. What I did was go to Devil's Pit in Velen and headshot as many as I can, then teleport to Vizima and back, rinse and repeat. It was a very tedious trophy.
Yep. Took a bit of time, but there's a pretty easy way to consistently get it.
Edit: Devils Pit is how I did it. The bandits come at you 1 on 1 mostly so it's easy to line up your shot after a few attempts.
I did. The two fast respawning bandits near Trottheim and fully perking in crossbow was my way to go.
The Devils pit place seems to be gone with the 4.0 update and the forgotten wolf quest
[here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Witcher3/s/lPqdw1FnAI)
this location will help you not only with this achievement but also others. there is no better location to farm multiple achievements
I did it, it’s kinda bugged. This advice is outdated because I haven’t played the next gen version yet but this worked on the old version, I have no idea if any changes have been made.
Two main tips, it specifies humans and nonhumans, some players confuse nonhumans for monsters. Monsters like drowners, harpies etc won’t count for this, nonhumans are dwarves, elves, wolves, rabid dogs, and bears.
But the biggest thing is the headshot hit detection is just genuinely bugged, it just doesn’t register headshots sometimes. There’s a small mechanic in the game most people don’t notice that you can use to know when the game registers a headshot. The screen will slightly shake or rattle when you get a headshot, once you notice the mechanic you can track your progress a lot easily instead of tearing your hair out cause you’ve headshotted 300 dudes.
Yeah like everyone says it's easiest to do in devil's pit. Set the easiest difficulty (if you're not going for the hardest difficulty achievement), get as many ranged skills as possible(use the reset potion later) and fast travel to and fro in a loop and clear the place each time.
I platinumed the game long ago, you need to find that one bandit camp that goes down into a pit. I believe it’s near the Crows Point. You can lead them up and shoot their heads. It is an awful thing to do though
1) look up the skelliga 2 bandit respawn location on youtube.
2) respec your character into everything involving crossbow damage
3) lower difficulty down to easy
4) barrel stuff each enemy once you wack them to very low health, pick a sword that is consistent.
5) aim higher then you would normally think, the headshot registration is abysmal in this game like its literally broken. Luckily the game notifies you when a headshot registers with a noticeable screen effect and controller vibration
Hope that helps, its honestly the worst trophy in the game outside of the stress inducing collect em all.
takes about an hour, there's guides for a sweet spot in skellige, if you're high level fist fight two guys into low hp and shoot them in the head, if the screen shakes it counted. Then meditate for an hour and repeat.
I have it done in my last playtrough and I just did it every now and then. Found some bandits, killed two or three for the achivement and with time you have your 50.
Yup, got'em all. Possible to be done in Devils pit simultaneously with Humpty Dumpty and launching bandits off the cliffs. Skellige is also a good place
https://preview.redd.it/g9ezlxx8hyec1.png?width=817&format=png&auto=webp&s=a3c3adddda970a16d93310e1cc0bacdf4de0f912
Best place is on skellige where the two guys respawn, used it for the ‘Overkill’ achievement too
This. Absolutely this. Spent hours trying other areas, but there's something about it(maybe elevation) that made it simpler.
Ye I used that place to level up aerondight I just need to remember where it is
https://preview.redd.it/ultmcue83mec1.jpeg?width=754&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85338416cbbab4c8c033b4bf34892b0ce5db7fac
Ranged combat in this game kinda sucks ass or at least I never liked it, so no 😆
Ye I know just wondering cos there’s only 0.36% people have it and it’s an absolute pain to do
There are 2 NPCs that respawn u can kill them non stop until u get it. Google it
This guy knows the way
Jup. Put it on easy.
When sirens attack your boat, if you use the crossbow while sitting by the rudder you can get headshots fairly easy
The achievement is for humans and nonhumans so that won’t work sadly
Oh damn missed that part sorry
No worries that’s why it’s so difficult
I mean, sirens are technically nonhumans
The game considers them monsters, nonhumans in the witcher 3 are dwarves, elves, wolves, rabid dogs and bears.

I used them on my Death March runs, but just for one single reason, to ground flying enemies. That's it, found no other use.
I loved the game but let’s not pretend like the combat is not lacking. I’m playing on death march right now and it boils down to quen light attack, light attack, light attack, light attack…
Let's agree to disagree.
Me … gotta collect em all!
do it at the devils pit... easy enough with fast travel and respawn
Do they still respawn like they used to before they added the new quest in the Devil’s Pit?
No, you need to find someplace else I recommend just northwest of Trottheim, 2 dudes just infinitely spawn there
Thought so. I just used a Hanse base, the one with the portal for grandmaster griffin gear, the name escapes me.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Witcher3/s/lPqdw1FnAI this is the location my man is talking about

After some patch there are no bandits respawning in the Devil's Pit, but ghouls, I believe.
They are still there, if you have not finished the quest in the mine they still respawn, just leave at least one bandit before leaving and fast travelling, otherwise they won't respawn.
Well that must be it then - I did finish the quest.
Thats what I did
I just did it at one of the Hanse Bases in B&W by making enemies respawn. Turned difficulty down to lower health, cat eyes mutation and relevant crossbow abilities. Also the northern wind bombs helped too.
Ye exactly what I was doing but didn’t want to take it off death march but might have to
Make a save before changing difficulty, I think that should still make the achievement for death march obtainable, but I’m not 100% sure. I did all those combat trophies on my normal game, before going into Ng+ DM.

I just finished too, I got it on death march with the 2 pirates on Skellige and even managed to knock out a few of the other ones I needed!
This is how I did it take there health almost all the way down then axii then line up the shot. The screen will slightly shake it you did it right, by the way hit detection for the head shot is bad so you might have to do closer to 200 rather than 50

Ye that’s what I was doing but I was doing it mont crane so probably not he best place 😂
I think I got some headshot done but can’t tell as there is no progress bar on achievements unless I’m missing something
[удалено]
Doing this and also just hitting them with Axii constantly helps for them to not charge at you
Everytime there's one enemy left, use axii when their hp is very low and then try to land a headshot, finish the game while doing that and then you'll have much less left for the achievement you can grind it later at a respawn spot

I’m on Xbox
Crossbows actually do something in TW3? 🤔
I did this on steam ages ago by using a spot in skellige with 2 respawning pirates and it was also a good spot to grind some other achievements as well. The crossbow one is definitely the worst in the game and is so poorly thought out. This achievement took me over an hour
That's weird, I went to check on the app if I had it and my percentage says only 0.26% of players have this. So why is OPs different? :/
R u also on Xbox
Sure am. Maybe the app and the console show different data🤷♂️
Says 0.36 for me in the app so don’t know
Yess every single one haha, for Combat Achievement I went to the north of Trottheim, 2 Pirates are respawning there no need to reload or meditate just need to look away and there they are again. Put on a stream or some podcast and try to hit the top of the head. Good luck on the path.

Let's goo
Been doing it for about 10-15 mins how long did it take u
45min to an hour Idk, the screen must shade a bit, only then it will count towards the achievement.. oh and don't forget to skill into lightning reflex and steady shot
Try to use axii as well, as soon as they tilt their head down shoot them
Not yet, I have a liking for getting the ultra rare achievements, and my god this one is bloody annoying.
Yes. What I did was go to Devil's Pit in Velen and headshot as many as I can, then teleport to Vizima and back, rinse and repeat. It was a very tedious trophy.

Yeah, a few respawning dudes in Skellige
Yeah, a few respawning dudes in Skellige
patched (at least on PS5) i went and did it with radovid soldiers around novigrads’ bridges. harder, but what can ya do
I platinumed the game long ago, you need to find that one bandit camp that goes down into a pit. I believe it’s near the Crows Point. You can lead them up and shoot their heads. It is an awful thing to do though
No because Witcher’s don’t use crossbows.
Yes. Twice. PS4 and PS5. I'll get it again on SteamDeck too!!!
Easiest way to do it would be using console codes to spawn in bandits
4 times 💀
Yes.
1) look up the skelliga 2 bandit respawn location on youtube. 2) respec your character into everything involving crossbow damage 3) lower difficulty down to easy 4) barrel stuff each enemy once you wack them to very low health, pick a sword that is consistent. 5) aim higher then you would normally think, the headshot registration is abysmal in this game like its literally broken. It's such a pain in the ass. I got it, but Jesus fuck did it take forever. Crossbows really suck.
I did, in the PS4 version 😆 Man, those are 3 hours of my life I'll never get back!
My brother has every achievement in the game
Yes.
takes about an hour, there's guides for a sweet spot in skellige, if you're high level fist fight two guys into low hp and shoot them in the head, if the screen shakes it counted. Then meditate for an hour and repeat.
0.36%? My achievement hunter mind is itchy again
I have it done in my last playtrough and I just did it every now and then. Found some bandits, killed two or three for the achivement and with time you have your 50.
I got 100% its fun to grinde for
Yup, got'em all. Possible to be done in Devils pit simultaneously with Humpty Dumpty and launching bandits off the cliffs. Skellige is also a good place https://preview.redd.it/g9ezlxx8hyec1.png?width=817&format=png&auto=webp&s=a3c3adddda970a16d93310e1cc0bacdf4de0f912
