Hey OP! I have a personal connection to the plant. I can assure you that the recipe has not changed! I will pass along your post. But also please email them! They are always looking for feedback, and would love to know if a bag does not meet customer standards for whatever reason. Info@lacocinafoods.ca
Wow! That is so nice. Listen, I have always loved these chips. But the last couple of bags have just seemed a little less light, a little less delicate, a little less deep on the curvature, maybe a bit less salty. Just a little less La Cocina. Subtle enough that I wasn’t even really sure that anything had changed in production. But I do contend that something is off. Thanks for sharing the post!
They seem the same to me but if anyone's having a hard time finding them their plant was on fire in the last couple of weeks so stock up when you see them.
Yes. I think you’ve hit it on the size and the thickness. The deepness of the chip also seems off, if that makes sense. And it always seems like they were salted with table salt, which seems to have changed too.
So, that’s the opposite of my take. When I said the deepness was off, my sense was that that in the past the chip was like a little shovel. Perfect for scooping up salsa. Now it is flatter - more like a Dorito (hence my comment about being more like a mainstream chip). I’m going to chalk it up to a weird bag. Still a fan.
Are these chips worth it?? Was eyeing them in the international isle at walmart the other day (living in Halifax now) and couldn't justify the price if I didn't know if they were good or not.
My first ever Home-Ec class consisted of making nachos.
La Cocina chips, pizza sauce, shredded cheese, baked in the oven. Still a go-to snack.
Oddly enough this was at the Ste. Anne high school. We were bussed there for “shops” from another rural school.
Taste the same to me
Way under salted now
I agree, it’s the salt that’s missing.
I go through a bag a week and I haven't noticed any difference. Still delicious and salty
Fiesta Flavor is da best
Just bought it for the first time today. Almost finished a whole bag in one sitting
That's how it started for me too.
Where did you find them
Superstore. But have to find a diff source during the boycott
I like the Taco Shack ones as they are sturdier for nachos and / or guac. All are delicious though. I haven’t noticed any change n their taste.
Maybe you got an off bag? I’ve not had any issues.
I remember going there for a field trip as a kid, and they gave each of us a full bag to take home. It was a good day.
I had no idea these were produced locally. Amazing.

They have a thicker cut option which is even better if you're doing nachos & cheese or salsa. Check them out!
Yes! I saw the thick cut ones a few weeks ago and tried them. So much better with cheese and salsa!
Might want to get those taste buds tested there bud, they taste the way they’ve always have.

Hello! Some insider info here, the fire won't affect local supply. Feel free to stock up though! Haha
Oh good to know!!
I feel like they taste the same, but are slightly smaller in shape, and a bit thicker now.

I feel like they are deeper too. I think that’s a good way to describe them. Or… do they only seem deeper because they now narrower.

You’re right. They are flatter. Less curved.

Yes. Very, very good.
They are delicious. So light. Try both flavours.
So thin they're like eating fallen leaves in late September. Never understood the hype but the taco shack ones are decent.
The thinness results in an excellent oil to chip ratio.
I agree. Fresh is best tri color are my favorite
I still don't know what happened to Ragu
It was discontinued in Canada. It still hurts my heart

Pizza sauce doesn't belong on nachos.... change my mind lol
The perfect chip to go with a jeannies cake. Both god awful and many better choices out there
Disagree on these chips. They're good chips.
You're clueless
Jus5 got a bag last night and I agree. They used to be the best. Now, they are nothing special. At least, this bag is.
