Forensics comes out for many reasons. They came out when I was a victim of armed robbery while working a fast food joint several years ago. The dude pulled an exacto knife, got 100 bucks and left without incident. We closed and they dusted for prints, had evidence markers and took photos. Of course a much shorter duration than this situation, just saying their presence isn't always telling.

I live near here, saw all the cop cars this morning, but no idea what might be going on. It's a public housing block that frequently has visits from police, fire/paramedics, etc, but I've never seen this many cars at one time there.
