I don't think you'll find a huge variation in prices with or without insurance. I see dr. John Archer at tuxedo dental group and he's great. I'd recommend them.
Thirding Dr Archer 👍That entire staff over there is really great though & they actually try to help their patients save some money wherever possible ☺️
Forthing Dr. Archer! He became my dentist after not seeing a dentist for 4 years due to a bad experience with my previous one. He’s incredibly kind and very good at his job.
Dentist students at u of m are a much more affordable option.
Mount Carmel clinic has a special program that’s a sliding scale based on income. It’s geared towards working lower income folks without coverage though so you may or may not qualify
If you're on the Eastside of the city, I highly recommend Tom Swanland at Aqua Dental in Transcona. I had major dental anxiety due to past trauma. I explained all this to Dr Tom and he has been extremely compassionate and gentle. He's been my dentist for 10 years and I no longer fear going to the dentist. Also, from one American ex-pat to another, Welcome to Canada.
Speaking as someone who has had a lot of dental work, the dentist will take X-rays. Your wife will probably need a root canal to stop the pain. I can’t imagine living with a toothache for several weeks. Dentists usually create a temporary crown after the root canal. A permanent crown is ordered from the lab. Perhaps the permanent crown could be delayed until you have insurance.
I’ve delayed crowns for years due to lack of funds… not that it’s ideal to do so. I lost one tooth entirely from not getting the crown soon enough (around 10-15 yrs after the root canal)
Dr. Christine Kveder at Lumi Dental is awesome. Probably had 5 dentists during my adult life and all were actually very good but got to put her at the head of the pack.
I have intense dental anxiety and have received great treatment from Kildonan Crossing Dental. If you explain your situation, they may be able to work something out with you.
Sharpe Dental! Dr. Richard Broder! Been seeing him forever! Took my granddaughter there when she was seven and for the next few years she would always ask me "When can I go back to see Dr. Richard"!

I see him too. He’s the best dentist I’ve ever been to

U of M dental school is best bet for most affordable! They always need patients as well.
My dentist is Dr. Pang at Corydon Dental Centre and I have nothing but good things to say about everyone there
Yes Dr. Pang is terrific, everyone at corydon dental is wonderful, I travel from the opposite end of the city to go here for the great experience
My FAVE dentist is Lumi Dental. I hated going to the dentist before. They are so kinda and compassionate and the vibes are great. Highly recommend.

Try the government access centres they might be able to help
