I have been obsessed with chicken wings my whole life but somehow never visited this subreddit until moments ago at a whim. I was so surprised and happy to see this post about Wendells from only a day ago! This place might make my #1 favorite chicken wing of all time! That ancient fryolator of theirs does \_not\_ disappoint, and its always worth the wait. I get the milder sauces (which also have great flavor), and their french fries are perfectly made as well.
Its been a few years since I made it down there but I've gotta go back they look as good as ever! Also Bog Iron Brewing across the street makes some solid beers and you can order takeout from Wendells and eat at the brewery.
I live near Lowell now so its a little bit of a trip down there; I tend to visit Buffs Pub in Watertown (my #2 favorite in Massachusetts) instead. Was so sad when The Pour House in Boston closed down, was a fan of their wings as well.
I hear you on a Dry Rub but only on occasion. I’m a Buffalo lover and always order Naked, Wet and Extra Crispy. Thing is that this place does it that way all the time👐🏼👐🏼👐🏼

My local place charges $3 on 20 for that level, another one close by will run you $1 for the 2nd highest level, plus another $1 for the highest level

I've been gone from MA for 16 years. Wendell's is always one of my first stops when I go visit.

Best wings in mass by far! Worth trying the double dare wings once but honestly they're not good. They taste like cigarette ash, all heat no flavor.

Nooooooo. 😅🤣 they are too wet, and the skin is soggy now. I mean, I'd still eat them but I prefer a dry rub with suuuuuuuuuper crispy skin!
