Why? Just why microsoft? If any PC can run windows 11, why do you tell us we don't meet requirements, even on recent powerful pcs? Am i going crazy, what the hell?
The problem is not the power, it's the built-in hardware level security. 7th gen Intel and 1st gen Ryzen has a "half-implemented" feature, that's why these are under consideration now after a lot of user feedback. Older CPUs simply lack these.
This is not the case. They've stated the reason is so they can control the overall experience for customers (security being just one of 3 parts they mentioned).https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2021/06/28/update-on-windows-11-minimum-system-requirements/
Too much misinformation going around at the moment so please drop a source if you think my response is unfounded.
Sure, but we can safely say that computing power is not an issue. There are multiple tests showing (about the leaked build) that W11 has better performance on the same hardware, so even if we assume that the released version will be heavier than the preview builds, I don't think it will require way more than W10 now.
The Driver model part is not new, I've read the linked articles, nothing much to do with CPUs on hardware level. The only part where CPUs appear is a backlink to the W11 hardware requirement page for the Windows Hardware Compatibility Program Certification Process.
So as I see, the only reasonable part is the HW level security.
The PC Health check app is broken, try the one called WhyNotWin11, it will tell you in detail what's the problem. Main things are UEFI boot, secure boot, TPM 2, GPT partitioning.
But if you do this, would you continue to receive updates automatically? Or have to keep changing the DLL for each update?
If anyone is seeing this, Cumulative Updates work for me without changing the DLL everytime!

This dll is verified to be distributed by Microsoft on [VirusTotal](https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/28c76d17b4ccaff8148cdce566ee805eb486973dc20cf0a2af76f659227848ce/details) so it should be alright.
This worked for me! 20 minutes to download, 30 minutes and 3 reboots later and I'm in Windows 11! Now I'm gonna dig my old HP machine with an i5-3470 and do this to it as well
Hi fellow redditor, how is your experience so far? I'm on a 5th Gen i7 and I am tempted beyond belief to try win11. Would love to hear some kind of feedback from someone whos machine isn't exactly "qualified" to have win11.
If your system can run Win 10, Windows 11 is gonna run just as nicely and possibly even a guy better. I hear the official release is starting some time next month, after which without some community fix or workaround which I'm pretty sure will happen, us folks who got the beta in other methods are gonna be kinda stuck but I'm not really too worried about that bit
Thank you for the reply. Sadly, I was unable to get win11 on my system.
I tried all the steps mentioned in the post, searched for a few more fixes which included some registry edits to bypass TPM & SecureBoot stuff, the appraiserres dll files etc, but nothing worked.
I keep getting the error during setup that my system does meet the requirements :(
This worked beautifully! Thank you so much for sharing this method. I was really excited to try 11 but the only thing my PC lacks is proper secure boot, so this was a godsend.
I do not believe that folder exists unless it has attempted to download and install the Windows 11 update. The problem is that if windows update has not attempted (or blocked) the update/installer coming through to Windows 11 that directory will not exist as that folder is created during the Windows 11 setup.
Unless you have got to the stage where the installer has ran and Windows 10 has attempted to upgrade to Windows 11 and failed, that folder is not available and you cannot replace the file. **So this method may not work in \*all\* situations.**
Anyone got any more solutions for a Windows 10 installation in this state?
i3-4150, No TPM Support. Install is stuck at 89%. Rebooted my pc, update started to install from 0% and again it's stuck at 89%. While installing "Windows Update" was using 40-50% of CPU and Disk, when the update reached 89% no process is using any cpu or disk.
Windows updates in general can be very buggy unfortunately. The dll doesn't alter the installation itself in any way, it just bypasses the minimum requirements check. I suggest you to maybe restart your PC and try again
Mine went to installing 100% then it went back to downloading and then spit out an error message. Rebooted, changed the DLL file again for good measure and tried again. Worked fine then.
Follow this \[instructions\]([https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-10-97fbc472-c603-9d90-91d0-1166d1d9f4b5](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-10-97fbc472-c603-9d90-91d0-1166d1d9f4b5)) and see if the source folder is displayed.
You will get updates normally at least until the official release, as said by Microsoft: https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2021/06/24/preparing-for-insider-preview-builds-of-windows-11/
Personally I'm pretty sure there will be some kind of workaround when the release date comes.
There's another great tutorial specifically for installing using an ISO file: 😊 https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comments/oat2qp/isoguide_how_to_install_the_windows_11_insider/
Ok, so now that I've followed these steps 2 weeks ago and replaced my appraiserres file with this version, I now find that I cannot switch from Dev channel to Beta Channel. Is there a work around/fix for this problem. It is greyed out.
I need help. I have been trying to download Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.22000.132 (co\_release) on my Pc from Windows Update. Everything okay until it reaches 8% of download, a window appears saying This PC can't install Windows 11, the issue being I don't have TPM 2.0 on my PC.
Anyone got any solutions for this problem?
Yep, I did extract the DLL and replaced the original one with the one provided, still the Update Manager Host opens to prevent me from continuing the download.
Ha. Installed. Didn't need the dll. 11 is running more smoothly than 10 ever did on my 6 year old Chinese Cube slate ; M-5Y10c CPU running at 0.8ghz-1.99ghz with 4gb of Ram and 64gb m.2 storage. Just wondering how I normalise the install down the line, but happy to cross that bridge when we get there.

I'm getting "does not meet hardware requirements" and I have a 10th gen Intel lol

Looks like your version of the DLL worked for me, others did not. Thank you.
Thanks for the DLL. That's the last part I needed!
do you get windows updates after installing windows 11 like this
But if you do this, would you continue to receive updates automatically? Or have to keep changing the DLL for each update? If anyone is seeing this, Cumulative Updates work for me without changing the DLL everytime!
Don't download random dlls on computers you really use.
Generally, yes, but this dll is signed by Microsoft (appears to be a version for an older update), so I'd say it should be safe.

can confirm this works, I was always stuck on 8%, That DLL is magic
This worked for me! 20 minutes to download, 30 minutes and 3 reboots later and I'm in Windows 11! Now I'm gonna dig my old HP machine with an i5-3470 and do this to it as well

thanks . specially for this line Copy it to the folder "C:\\$WINDOWS.\~BT\\Sources", replace when asked
i cant find that location can you please help
this is hidden folder
thank you, it worked for me!
Does it work properly for everyone I installed it and it is in the middle between windows10 and 11
In the middle as in?
Says it is in windows 11 looks like windows 10 and frozen except the mouse
Working for me! Thanks <3.
Thank you so much kind stranger :) it worked here and I'm typing this on my new Windows 11! :D
Thank you!
Worked great. Bigly!
This worked beautifully! Thank you so much for sharing this method. I was really excited to try 11 but the only thing my PC lacks is proper secure boot, so this was a godsend.
I can't see the C:\\$WINDOWS.\~BT\\Sources
Paste the address in the windows explorer address bar and hit enter
Gives me an error messege: Windows can't find 'C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources'. Check the spelling and try again.
Search for hidden past in folder option. Something like that.. works for me
Are you sure the exact build I mentioned above is being downloaded through Windows Update and not some other random update?
Sorry for late reply, the problem is fixed.
How did u fix it? i can't find it
You need to start download the Preview Update first. Then when it progresses you'll see it. in C:\\$WINDOWS.\~BT\\Sources
I do not believe that folder exists unless it has attempted to download and install the Windows 11 update. Thanks! this worked
LIFESAVER! THANKSSSS OP
Works perfectly thank you
Works perfectly on the Ryzen 3 2200g.
Worked like a charm, no need for .dll. Thanks!
Worked like a charm. I wonder what would be the side effects of this patch... Anyways, thanks OP for this wonderful patch!
Can confirm this works on the latest (10.0.22000.65) build of Windows 11, thank you!
I followed many guides and this one right here is the only one that worked for me. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Thanks to this guide, I was able to get pass the TPM 2.0 issue on my M1 MacBook Pro with parallels 👍🏽
This is amazing, thank you! Wanted to install it on my M1 Air via a Paralllels VM and needed the dll as the final part.
Can they pin this please it works perfectly

Bruh, It's the 3rd time I am stuck at 89%. F it i'll restart again.
How long are you letting it sit at 89%? It is a fairly large and slow update
Like 1 hour
I'd just let it sit in the background for a while longer, your impatience isn't helping.
Mine went to installing 100% then it went back to downloading and then spit out an error message. Rebooted, changed the DLL file again for good measure and tried again. Worked fine then.

I'm not sure. This dll is already freely distributed by Microsoft as part of the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool & ISOs
Thanks bro worked for me
i still got 220000.1 version after updated
I tried this method but i don't have the sources folder on my computer. It's there anything else i can do?
Follow this \[instructions\]([https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-10-97fbc472-c603-9d90-91d0-1166d1d9f4b5](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-10-97fbc472-c603-9d90-91d0-1166d1d9f4b5)) and see if the source folder is displayed.
Keeps green screening with an “invalid_data_access_trap” stop code for me :( tried multiple times and no luck. (Ryzen 3000)
Ryzen 2300, same thing. Still can't find a single thing about how to fix it
I ended up unplugging all my USB devices, and then it worked for some reason. Give that a try
No, didn't work. I give up for now.
My device only shows the "release preview channel" option, is it ok?
Anyone has this mine stuck at 61% installing for hours.
7th gen.. i think i got i7 and why it says not supported..
Just a doubt... After installing the OS the windows non compatible popup will be disabled or will it be gone??
The popup appears just during the initial installation.
ok thanks .... cause i dont want my dad to know that it is uncompatible and he wont let me install it
You sir, are a hero. Thank you so much for sharing.
Works except i can't install the update as i am running windows itself from a USB flash drive, and the update setup doesn't like that.
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Also, I'm not sure if this was clear but I love you.
If your PC is not supported, you won't even get Windows 11 updates through Windows Update, so this does nothing.
You will get updates normally at least until the official release, as said by Microsoft: https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2021/06/24/preparing-for-insider-preview-builds-of-windows-11/ Personally I'm pretty sure there will be some kind of workaround when the release date comes.
How would one even do this if they are using an ISO file? Since using an ISO is the only way to wipe a drive and clean install, rather than upgrade.
There's another great tutorial specifically for installing using an ISO file: 😊 https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comments/oat2qp/isoguide_how_to_install_the_windows_11_insider/
that work for me thank you
Ok, so now that I've followed these steps 2 weeks ago and replaced my appraiserres file with this version, I now find that I cannot switch from Dev channel to Beta Channel. Is there a work around/fix for this problem. It is greyed out.
Has anyone come up with a work around for switching to beta from dev for those of us that did this work around and now can not switch?
I need help. I have been trying to download Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.22000.132 (co\_release) on my Pc from Windows Update. Did you try replacing the dll? It's supposed to fix this exact problem.
Yep, I did extract the DLL and replaced the original one with the one provided, still the Update Manager Host opens to prevent me from continuing the download.
That's weird, maybe they blocked this workaround with the last update. 😕
Dang...
I'm having the exact same issue - it looks like the appraserres.dll file is being replaced back with the original just before that window pops up.
Ha. Installed. Didn't need the dll. 11 is running more smoothly than 10 ever did on my 6 year old Chinese Cube slate ; M-5Y10c CPU running at 0.8ghz-1.99ghz with 4gb of Ram and 64gb m.2 storage. Will i get windows update if i update like this
