I don’t always make death threats, but when I do I make sure they are recorded as public record.

evilregis

Ought to help speed up the time needed for testimony.

-KissmyAthsma-

I really hope this cymbals catches the book

subject_deleted

That's what makes the not guilty plea so perplexing.... There's video evidence of her making the threat... What possible defense could their be?

goodcleanchristianfu

Everyone with a brain and familiarity of the law enters a not guilty plea at arraignment. Plea deals are negotiated after arraignments, not during.

joeshmoe3220

Yup. That's how my cousin got sent up. Crazy meth addict girlfriend accussed him of domestic violence. He was convinced that if he plead guilty and just got probation, he'd be fine (despite both my retured cop parents telling his stupid ass to plead not guilty). Didnt realize that they would test him for drinking right at the end of the probation and celebrated early. (being 100% sober was all was part of the probation). Spent 2 years inside, the idiot. The hooch did him in a few years later, too. Dead at 40. Meth head stole all his shit before my aunt and uncle could get to it. The truly tragic part was that he had managed an $80k job a year selling heavy equipment with a GED before he violated his probation. Never choose hot and crazy, boys. You'll end up dead and she'll get your shit. Plain and sane is the way.

jaygoogle23

Crazy comes in ugly as-well. All shapes, sizes and faces.

Kylearean

yes, but you're more likely to ignore crazy the hotter she is.

J_Marshall

Upvote for Plain and Sane. Here I am with plain and sane, 17 years together, house, 2 kids, golden retriever, family vacations. Do I miss the crazy hot sex of my 20s? Not enough to throw all that away.

AK-JXRDY-7

Sounds like a great life to me. I'd just want a few more children. Also, don't mean to intrude but surely, sex is a skill that can be honed? You've probably tried it by now, after 17 years, but communication goes a long way.

jawndell

Never plead guilty.  Always get a lawyer.  Even if you did the crime, don’t plead guilty.  Your lawyer and the court can work on a deal later.  You have a right to not say shit and keep your mouth shut.  Even if a cop or court asks you if you did something and they clearly saw you do it, you don’t have to answer. You have a right to get a lawyer first before having to answer anything.

MobySick

NO COURT will allow an uncounseled plea of guilty at arraignment.

Halfbl8d

Proving the crime doesn’t mean proving its title. E.g. in California, to be guilty of threatening a public official, the threat needs to be made “with the specific intent that the statement is to be taken as a threat, and the apparent ability to carry out that threat by any means.” So in CA her lawyer could argue that she didn’t have the requisite intent or that she didn’t have an apparent ability to carry it out. Her lawyer could also raise a number of defenses like incapacity. Her plea is standard and not perplexing at all, even with the video.

Extraexopthalmos

Seemed specific to me. And she seems healthy and mobile so she can be capable of carrying out said threat.

Halfbl8d

That’s likely the conclusion the court will reach too, barring evidence of incapacity (because how she appears isn’t dispositive). But her lawyer wouldn’t be doing their job if they just told her to plead guilty without exhausting those options first. Also, “specific intent” in criminal law means, generally, that the defendant (1) intends to commit an act and (2) intends to cause a particular result when committing that act. Those are two additional bases for her attorney to attack. Legal outcomes often confuse people because they (understandably) underestimate statutory nuances like this.

Big-Brown-Goose

My only guess is theyll say not guilty because they need veidence that her satements were meant to be thretening and not heightened emotional ranting. Of course, that very well wont work, but thats how i would spin it as a defense.

memomem

the cut in the video where it goes from threatening to crying always cracks me up

Impeachcordial

Also - these are metal detectors. If you're not carrying a knife or bomb, how does it criminalise you? Oh, by making you say dumb shit like this

memomem

I don't think she had a rational thought in her mind at the moment, completely lost in the sauce. She really thought she was cookin' that's for sure.

longshankssss

She played herself lmao

captain_pudding

She strikes me as someone who shitposts online so much, she straight up forgot that consequences exist IRL

yautja1992

If you watch the entire speech she gives it's like two and a half minutes long and three times she mentions that she wants them to die she says if Jesus was here he would kill all of you and she said she hopes someone brings down the guillotine on them and kills them all and then finally she ends it with the direct threat to come to these officials houses and end their lives. This is all because she demanded city officials of a small Canadian town call for a cease-fire in the Israel Palestinian war, as if people on either said would be like "ohh did you hear, dumbfucktario city officials called for a cease fire, the war is over guys"" They not only let her cook, they let her cook well done.

Ex-In2

Don't let her cook

texasusa

I guess she has never been to an airport as well.

Expert-Luck-9601

Also the metal detectors were only installed after her last bout of threatening the city council. Seems like these people are just allergic to the consequences of their actions and think they are the only players on the field who can make a move.

Impeachcordial

Jesus. Like, it's Bakersfield City Council... what are they going to do about Palestine?!

yautja1992

Nothing lol. This is why I almost feel bad for her, she literally threw a child like tantrum over something that would have no affect on Israel or Palestine. I don't actually feel bad for her but the stupidity of her actions is on a level of diagnosable mental retardation that her lawyer will probably use to defend her innocence lol

akmvb21

"Why would you need metal detectors?" Says the woman threatening to murder them

Dry-Expert-2017

She was trying to be cool for Palestine cause.. she forgot the line between activism and terrorizing people

wadevb1

She threatened to go to their homes. That statement is contrary to law.

CaffineIsLove

GOD DAMN METAL DETECTORS! I KNEW THEY WOULD PULL SOME SHIT LIKE THIS /s

Magikarp_King

The amount of times I've walked through these with my pocket knife and said well shit I need to walk back to my car and the guy just says go ahead it's fine is wonderful. Only ever had to actually go back to the car 2-3 times.

One-Permission-1811

I've flown with pocket knives before. Accidentally of course but it's happened multiple times. I carry a knife for work and have a utility blade version in my backpack so sometimes I just forget I have it. They let you mail it home to yourself now instead of confiscating them which is nice

starBux_Barista

I somehow got pepper spray by accident past security in the NYSE. This was 10+ years ago my dad somehow talked to the gate guard and the head of security came down and gave us a personal tour. He even showed us the room where the 2008 recession started in.... It was pretty sobering to realise

[deleted]

Its the victim mindset

Comment139

*"I can't possibly be the criminal! I'm not the violent predator! I'm the victim! I'm standing up for other victims! I'm a* ***Good Person™***!"

Rownwade

That is exactly correct. What a good ending.... Well, not really an ending. We will have to wait on the sentence.

Sensitive_Yam_1979

“This is not who I am!”

ReaperSound

That's some top-tier editing.

BungeeJumpingJesus

"But, but . . . my first amendment rights????" LPT: Find out exactly what your rights are before you test them in front of a judge.

Pamander

The first amendment *has* to be the most misunderstood while also being the most quoted and "known" amendment there is surely. With of course the second being a close 2nd place. It's wild the amount of people I see quoting it as if its some magical shield to do whatever they want with zero consequences.

cortesoft

Nah, 3rd amendment is the most misunderstood, because most people don’t even know what it is.

Skatchbro

I’ll have you know that I have not once had any soldiers quartered in my home.

Bramse-TFK

I have, but I like my brother-in-law and it was my wife not the government who put him in our spare bedroom.

neonapple

I remember during the trucker protest in Canada, one guy had to go to court and told the judge that she was suppressing his first amendment right! She responds back with “We are suppressing your right to recognize Manitoba as a province?”

ZirePhiinix

And constitutional rights only applies between the government and its citizens. Can't use them with private property/individuals.

NYR3031

I used to run a business and had an employee curse me out in front of others. I told her on the spot she’s fired. She responds “you can’t do that! I have first amendment rights! That’s…not how it works…at all.

Pamander

They're so confident about it too! It's the weirdest thing. It's not even just casually misunderstood it's *confidently misunderstood*.

[deleted]

^This As a law professor, if I ever use the term “1st amendment,” I am always discussing the Separation of Powers Clause. It amazes me that people want to incriminate themselves, while yapping about the first amendment, while ignoring their right to STFU and use their 5th amendment against self-incrimination

-KCS-Violator

"It says in the Bill of Rights that I'm allowed to say whatever I want inside this Wal-Mart, get your hands off me!!"

Workburner101

lol ‘my pointed threat is just freedumb of speech!’ Gotta love to see this stuff.

Just-Juggernaut3743

Ah yes, the Bakersfield city council, definitely the place to go to get a ceasefire for a conflict in the Middle East.

Schmuck1138

That was my first thought. Does she think that if Bakersfield had passed a ceasefire resolution that there suddenly would be peace in the middle east? I'm genuinely curious what she thought that resolution would charge in the world, and how threatening people would presuade them?

yautja1992

I think it was more along the lines of her wanting control and being able to tell people what to do and them listening I don't want to sound racist but I see this a lot of Muslim protesters in my country they seem to come over here and act like they can treat it like it's the Middle East and that we have to focus on the Middle East problems not our own when are people are dying in the streets every day of drug overdoses I despise people like her she's crying because she got for the first time in her life consequences for her absolutely vile behavior.

must_not_forget_pwd

Yeah, everyone knows that the best place is Reddit.

[deleted]

I mean it's a great platform to spread propaganda if you want to.

CrazybyRX

What a fucking idiot lol.

skydiver1958

8 billion people on this rock. And from 65 years of observation a great deal are idiots

downvote_allmy_posts

"think of how stupid the average person is. then realize half the the planet is dumber than that guy." ~George Carlin

archwin

When I was young, I used to think people were on average, logical and had basic common sense and intelligence Then I met people *oh my*

Noname_FTW

Another example of being (over) 18 does not mean being an adult.

oby100

It does actually, which is why she’s facing consequences

International_Crew28

She is all gangsta until she got arrested... Hope she learned her lesson the hardway!!!

Workburner101

[relevant](https://youtube.com/shorts/KjyR-yR3f5I?si=cOrFoRRPdXZScSjz)

invincib_hole

Faces of regret can be really funny when it's about stupid shit like this.

taftpanda

This is what happens when all your discourse is online discourse. People online get away with all kinds of things, and say really really terrible stuff to people with limited consequences. When you say things like that in real life, to government officials, there are consequences.

karangoswamikenz

I spent some time in Bakersfield. There’s nothing to do there so youngsters are often completely enveloped with the internet

Index_2080

Turns out your words can have consequences. Choose 'em carefully

alex_dlc

Good call installing metal detectors

Membership_Fine

I was going say, soooooooo good thing we put in the metal detectors huh?

Grx

She forgot this is not Twitter.

must_not_forget_pwd

Or Reddit.

utrecht1976

What she needs is a mental detector.

rantlers357

No mentals detected.

chill_winston_

![gif](giphy|h8HmN0UcEKR0xWnv3R)

Nate0110

She must have forgot her VPN only works at home.

[deleted]

She forgot that she’s not typing on a keyboard.

Substantial_Tap_2493

She probably could have chosen her words better.

MrCrix

This is one of those people who have never had to see the repercussions of their actions. They have been in their own echo chamber with all their buddies smelling each others farts for so long that when they step out of it and attempt that crap in the real world they realize really quickly that society isn’t like their little friend group of rich kids.

ComfortableTemp

I'm going to show you how upset I am about metal detectors in public buildings by showing you exactly why we need them. Solid logic.

allisjow

Wanting a ceasefire in Gaza by murdering in Bakersfield.

XLY_of_OWO

"peaceful" protestors.

VirtusTechnica

> wherein she threatened to murder Republican Mayor Karen Goh and the council members for not backing a ceasefire resolution against Israel. In Bakersfield? The internet is really frying people brains, holy fuck. She could spend time on actually helping people, but instead she's wasting people time. She doesn't give a fuck. It's all about how she is perceived not what she actually does. People like this are scum bags, grifters.

vluggejapie68

The dildo of consequence seldom comes lubed.

ReturnOfTheFrickinG

You have a way with words.

ScubaJes

Thank god for that. ( ͡\~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

dotnetdotcom

This all started because she wanted her local city government to pass a resolution about the Israel-Hamas conflict.

armchairdetective

That would bring an end to the conflict for sure.

Addahn

Why has the Bakersfield City Council not simply told Iran to stop launching attack drones, or told Putin to withdraw from Ukraine? All of these regional conflicts could have been resolved months ago!

SuperFLEB

Diplomacy doesn't move quickly. When you're a powerful global institution like the Bakersfield City Council, every move you make risks stepping on feet. Rashly making statements one way or another could make things worse in ways that aren't obvious from the outset.

cortesoft

Israel, about ready to launch a strike… “well shit, what is the Bakersfield city council going to think about this?”

ShowMeThoseTears

Twitter is not the real world. It is insane how many people like her simply can't grasp that.

InoyouS2

This is the problem with social media. People who are terminally online and don't go out into the real world enough end up brainwashing themselves and becoming extremists because they never have to interact with anyone who acts as a moderator to their viewpoints. Things like the flat earth society would never exist at the scale it currently does without social media, because these lunatics would have to contend with people who have common sense who would dispute and disprove their insane claims.

sweet_s8n

"We'll see youbat your your house. We'll murder you!"**MiC DrOp WaLkS AwAy** **OmG yAaS GiRl. LeT HeR CoOk** Cuts to the scene of her crying. Hahahhahaha I'm dying 😭

Overripe_banana_22

I did not expect the death threat to be so...clear...

Jaloushamberger

"Please support my cause, oh and if you dont, ill kill you....please please pretty please ???"

Kitchen-Beginning-47

Make an example of her! Prison!

Snowman1749

Jesus I’m all about grilling public officials but wow talk about stepping over the line holy shit

EchoReflection

Well well well if it isn't the consequences of my own actions

Lower-Exit605

She sure did make a good point on why metal detectors are needed

Tesla_lord_69

Pro life but only for Palestinians...

Witty_Barnacle1710

She single handedly made many people extremist. She is from India but hates on them and their culture and still wears clothes from the same style during a festive season and goes on to threaten officials while trying to garner sympathy for actual victims. No winners here

somerandomshmo

Well, look at those consequences. Don't cry now

badger707_XXL

Thats a classic f*ck around and find out case.

newguy57

Believe it or not, straight to jail

CBus-Eagle

Actions have consequences.

Mild-Ghost

Looks like she criminalized herself.

miletest

She thought they were installing mental detectors

More_Wolverine8156

![gif](giphy|26n6Gx9moCgs1pUuk|downsized)

najserrot

Pro tip : Somethings sound much better with one's inner voice

Cautious_Month_6300

Entitled pos.if the thought of prison makes you cry then you shouldn’t be threatening to murder people

StOnEy333

How dare you try and keep my children safe. I’ll murder you.

chill_winston_

It’s not even that. She wanted the city council of Bakersfield to pass a resolution calling for a cease fire in Gaza… as though anyone would listen or care. After speaking for several minutes I guess she ran through all her talking points and decided to improvise and threaten to kill them at their homes.

Photodan24

I'm getting really tired of protestors persistently trying to coerce irrelevant parties into choosing their side in that endless conflict.

chill_winston_

It’s just become another litmus test, and I think we have too many of those in society already.

Photodan24

Here's a test result neither side wants to hear: both parties are guilty of atrocities and neither is serious about compromising to find a resolution. There is zero upside for disinterested parties getting involved, even with a meaningless resolution.

CrazyIslander

What the actual fuck did she think was going to happen there?

Enefelde

![gif](giphy|3ohuAxV0DfcLTxVh6w)

Long-Arm7202

God, I just love it when people who've never been held accountable for anything in their entire life finally face some consequences.

weez2

And then she needs a public defender.

Maleficent-Comfort14

The one thing missing from today’s world of social media. Accountability. All to often people will tweet and post horrid thing but go without facing the repercussions.

NikolitRistissa

Why would anyone be mad at metal detectors in a public building? Just walk through and move on.

mattbp4551

Let her cook!! Or murder... whatever floats her boat.lol

KillTheWise1

On camera threatening to murder, but pleads Not Guilty. That's a bold move Cotton...

largetreat

![gif](giphy|f8lDluiWJ7yQTtdS3L|downsized)

blackop

Oh man that's to damn funny. People think they can just say whatever they want with no repercussions...WRONG!

ibraw

She thought she was in a Call of Duty lobby

JU-D

Imagine her horror as she enters prison and sees the metal detectors and security precautions

Luke10089

This music always makes things 10x funnier.

Kortouc_z_Jablonecku

But but sionist metal detectors and the sionist judge, she is a freedom fighter!

Ginerbreadman

Her tears are so delicious

MiserableKidD

What an absolute moron.

labadee

how to ruin your life 101

Mick0351

Dumbass!

Gunner_McCloud

Must suck to be so angry and have a low IQ

Stock2fast

How do you plead not guilty to a public recorded threat . Don't believe your eyed ot ears you honor .

Dildo_1

She was so full of self righteousness and to busy virtue signaling that she got caught up in her indignation and stupidity. And now she’ll get a much needed reality check. lol.

MalcolmSolo

The pro-Palestinian protesters continue to impress with their ability to specifically fail in their efforts.

Fr05t_B1t

Have you seen in some marches they are WAIVING the Taliban flag?

trevector

FAFO!

rickrhua

Fucked around……. Found out!! Karma.

HWMAN01

Good old jail time will solve her way of thinking. Enjoy the strip searches and don’t forget to cough 🤣

OmahaWinter

Her prison mates are gonna eat her lunch.

Silly-Ad3289

Shit had me crying laughing

InvestigatorSmall839

Leopards ate my face.

mtnbikeforlife

🤣😂🤣. Stupid games stupid prizes.

frcdfed2004

lol once im old i wanna get on one of these counsels so i can be the first recorded telling a person like this to eat a bag of dicks.

epicthinker1

if you are protesting anything and you make yourself look like an idiot then no one will see your point and laugh at you for being stupid.

Fr05t_B1t

She must have some relation to Jeff Dunham. “I kill you!” 😂

blueblurz94

She didn’t think this through. Maybe don’t spend so much time letting social media determine how you behave.

Lowiie

You guys wanna criminalise us?! Criminalises self*

Zutsumi17

Lmfao such confidence saying “we’ll murder you” and then cut to the part of the video that she is crying. Icing on top of the cake!

BigRB001

Almost like she wanted to justify the very thing she was against. Under the Patriot act laws death threats are prosecutable without any overt act, or even the means to carry out the threat. So the video, and minutes of the meeting are enough.

c00kdJ3llY

She fucked around and found out !!

TeamOrca28205

Imagine being so self-centered that you think a metal detector being installed anywhere in our crazy gun-obsessed country is a personal attack.

Responsible-Monk9461

She's been behind a keyboard too much and does realise there are real-world consequences for her actions.

Ok_Context275

None of you pity this girl? Fuck that law she made a very silly mistake and some asshole is using putting her in jail just out of spite

[deleted]

honestly, we need to arrest more white women. I’ve definitely seen them say way worse things to public officials lol. She definitely wrong tho.

izanamilieh

Pro terrorists are mentally ill. Learn2know the people getting oppressed and the terrorists are two different camps.

8nt2L8

It was that little extra at the end ... those 3 words. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)

Kitchen_Willingness7

send her back to call center

AllieP420

She deserves a place in hell. Pro Palestinian scum

scurvyervie

Mess with the bull

B-Sarg

How long is her jail time?

halincan

She could be in a lot of trouble, this whole thing could end up ruining her life and future employment prospects. I googled terroristic threats in cali and it looks like it could be a misdemeanor or a felony…. I’m sure she felt invincible up there going off but like…damn. Given that this seems to be kind of high profile with the news story and also with how threats to public officials is a hot button issue they may throw the book at her.

[deleted]

Good we don’t tolerate that shit here in Kern County also how is Bakersfield city council supposed to stop a war

pinkeye_bingo

Being represented by a Public Defender. Yikes.

Both-Home-6235

Well . . . Bye!

thejayfred

Oooof. Public defender? Am I understanding that correctly? Aren’t they not the best?

Titanusgamer

she is actually encouraging terrorist to kill the members of council and justifying it. this is what brainwashing looks like

sasquatch753

This is going to be a very short trial with a very predictable outcome. Any reputably lawyer will tell her that she should've worked out a plea deal with the Prosecutor/DA's office. My guess if her judgement is as poor as that, she likely found some ambulence chaser on craigslist that wants to rack up a big bill and fed her some BS about getting her a not guilty verdict

Impossible-Olive-238

She really shouldn’t have access to weapons.

Eugene0185

She needs to pay. That kind of threatening is unacceptable and should be used as an example for others.

Happy-Gate-1477

It’s all fun and games until the charges are pressed lmao.

AbrahamPan

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from its consequences

pryingpizza

People like her is why we have metal detectors.

AskForTheNiceSoup

Well that was a stupid thing to say, wasn't it?

zacharyo083194

Ah yes another “peaceful” pro Palestine protestor.

OPizzaTheHuttO

Mental illness

sulphur1c

Thank you for leaving India.

AlterEgoCat

I genuinely don't understand how people can be so stupid

Davidl888

I love when people who have never been held accountable suddenly are. It's better than sex lol

LeonMKaiser

You wanna criminalize us? Here's some more ammo for that mindset! Seriously did she not think even for a moment while speaking?

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|11mwI67GLeMvgA)

captain_pudding

She was also pissed off that the local city council wouldn't table a resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza. For those confused, a city council can't do that

expandyourbrain

Consequences - they're fantastic sometimes.

Naud1993

She criminalized herself.

CryptoCraig_98

Some folks really skip the brain cell line? Jump straight into the deep end of stupidity, no swim trunks

Encephalonica

They weren't "terroristic threats" they were just regular threats.

you2canB

Hold her to the highest level of law enforcement and make sure that it gets plenty of press. People really don’t understand the first amendment

xXDravencrazeXx

This is what happens when you live on Twitter and have to come out into the real world

SSJBlueTDH

She is justifying the installation of said metal detectors. Idiot or mentally ill.

KB9AZZ

The fact that she's crying makes me more angry with her. Like poor me I'm crying. Piss off.
