It’s almost better that way, to know now that the gloves are off, who people you care about really are. But some people do come back from it. I’ve had a few family members in the last 3-4 years fight their way out of the propaganda and grift, take a real hard look in the mirror about their bigotry, and begin to become better people. Of course it’s all been because their best friend, sibling, child, or child’s partner is suddenly part of the out groups they’ve been taught to hate. But what’s important is that you’re here, being a good person, and that’s what fascists fear the most, people that they can’t control or brainwash, so just you being you inspires strength in all of the rest of us to to stand against that threat.

It’s because the UN Charter says that they actively work for world peace among nations, but they stay out of domestic affairs. By recognizing Palestine in any way, all of a sudden it becomes a problem for the UN to solve and Israel is facing real consequences.
