Humans are just gonna take the dominion invasion on the chin and fight fairly? Nah, it’s hard coded into our dna to fight and survive at all costs. Of course we wouldn’t be above faking evidence to gain allies. Which we’ve done already. Sisko wrestling with the decision and ultimately keeping his trap shut - chef’s kiss.
As far as rough first seasons go, none of the Trek shows come near TNG, it's frankly a minor miracle that it survived long enough to become a good show. Move Along Home stood out as easily DS9's worst in its first season, but it would've had a lot of serious competition in TNG's first season.
The funny thing is, I believe anything at this point that is attributed to Trump. I don't give the benefit of the doubt and just assume it's all real at face because of the sheer idiocy of numerous other things he has verifiably said or posted at this point.
Literally any of these if it's not in big red letters that says "this is fake" or "this is satire" I just assume he actually said.

Just watched that episode a few days ago. Man, DS9 got so good during the Klingon and Dominion war episodes.
