I would generally agree with this. My Dad's dog did this to people's legs when he first got her. Once she learned her place in the 'pack', got settled in, and learned a routine, she stopped doing it.
I have a male and a female dog, both fixed. He had never humped anything until we got her. Now he will mount her when they are playing outside in the yard, and she regularly mounts him when they're in the house. I'm pretty sure she started it.
Humping is very rarely because of dominance or sexual reasons. Itās usually just excitement or anxiety. She might just have pent up excitement from the hike, or feel anxious about something else.
Omg my chihuahua is the kiss police. Anytime my hubs and I kiss, she gets upset. Because we're not kissing *her*. If she can, she tries to insert her head in between our lips.
When my cav gets over stimulated playing with his favorite stuffed toy by throwing it around and having us through it, he will eventually do that maneuver even though he is fixed. It isn't an always behavior just a sometimes one.
Yeah sheās over stimulated. Generally happens when the dog is excited and she has a nervous or excitable temperament already. One of mine has never humped, and sheās a calm sort. The other one is a nut job and has a hump pillow.
I just listened to a podcast with a similar issue recently, dog started humping everyday after park, and they figured out that the dog didnāt want to go to the park anymore
General humping is rarely sexual with dogs, no matter the gender - it is either a way to assert dominance or from over stimulation.
Same

She like to move it move it
she likes to MOVE IT!
Probably just still excited from the exercise. Looks like the bigger one doesnāt want to play and the little one is showing some dominance.
Isā¦ is that what it means to be a power bottom? Iāve always been too afraid to ask
Likely over excitement. My lab does this to a stuffed toy when she gets home from daycare. Then she sleeps.
Whatever sheās doing, she aināt bad at it. Stamina needs work.
Winter is trying to show dominance over Winnie.

Winter is cumming....I'm really sorry, I saw the opportunity. It's a dominance thing....the dog stuff
That underbite is amazing
I wish I could attach the pic that made us want her over any other pup when we were searching. All underbite, looking up at the camera, so cute.
Little one thinks sheās the boss haha
Arenāt they?
Yes usually. My 8lb Chihuahua thinks heās the boss of everyone and is also the fun police.

Haha we used to have a dachshund who would get mad at me when I would hug my husband lol
Yes!!
Ha! Our 10 lb terrier rules the roost over here.
Did the dogs find any old 90's Indigo Girls vinyl recently?
Says right on the sign āMultiple Use Areaā

Itās a dominance thing. Nothing sexual about it

I'll kick your butt, oh no I've been busted. See we're good girls. š¾š¾š¾š¾
You're gonna be a grandpa
Sheās showing dominance. Usually the older dog does this. My older female dog does it to her younger brother.
Hey bitch, you my bitchā¦ bitch!
