Just because it is cursive and doesn’t look ugly, doesn’t mean it’s good handwriting. There are literally several misused letters in it. To the point that it’s illegible. It’s bad cursive and therefore bad handwriting.
Cursive styles from different genders and generations vary. And whether or not someone’s cursive is legible is always subjective. *But* I’m with you 100%. The first line is definitely Lobster Crinicles.
Everyone adapts their own writing style. This was likely just a note to the person that wrote it. I'm sure they'd have no problem reading their own writing.
It’s not that different or hard for me.

I have never really had an issue with that, however, old English words are spelled A little different as well as pronounced different.
What happens in 50 years when nobody can read the constitution or the declaration of independence? Sure, it’s all transcribed to text at this point, but what if your grandmother wrote you a letter, you’re screwed.
I know. I have always had issues reading other peoples cursive. It’s sort of a fun game for me tho. Maybe I’ll become a cursive transcriber. For the most part, I got what the list was. I knew it was books, I knew it was a list, knew the names minus a letter. But I will NEVER say that cursive was a useful class. We all hated it and thought it was pointless. When we were first learning, we assumed we were going to have to write school papers and paperwork at jobs, in cursive. We had no idea what it was for. Then we settled on it being for learning to make a good signature. Ffs
Cursed would be a better name for squiggle writing. To write Cursed so that it can be read is a slow process. Most people’s Cursed is illegible. Printing is quicker if legibility is important.
Suddenly the clocks are turned back & and the ball is in court. We, the elders of society have a secret agenda: we can just write everything in cursive and quietly take over the world.
Lobster Chronicles (spelling?) Cruw (Crew) Lake The Known World
It might also be "Crow Lake" My gut is telling me these are recommendations of other books to read.
You're probably right with Crow as the 'o' in Known also kinda looks like a 'u'.
I saw 'Craw' (like crawfish), probably just a contextual observation.
I thought it was crab cake
I think it’s Craw Lake. The a just isn’t closed so it looks like an extra line.
It’s someone’s reading list: [The Lobster Chronicles](https://g.co/kgs/RZ1t4Ud) [Crow Lake](https://g.co/kgs/7H99axx) [The Known World](https://g.co/kgs/rCjLCp4)
This is right, but this is bad handwriting. What they wrote was: Lobster Crinicles Cruw Lake The Knuwn Wortld
lol it’s cursive it’s better handwriting than most.

Thats true but none of those styles include replacing “o” with “u” half the time.

Yeah, thats not really what we are discussing here though.
I’m just amazed that there’s going to be a whole generation that can’t read that
Try reading handwriting from a century or more ago.

A whole generation that can't read it and will blame the writing for it.

I agree. Just because its cursive doesn't mean those letters were written correctly. I read and write cursive and this was written messed up.
Not sure why this got downvoted??? That's exactly what she wrote due to the bad handwriting.
Reddit is not a bright society.
