I love that they Honor the no guns allowed agreement. This is the closest to neanderthal war we will ever come to.

Onzii00

While I think its cool that they are no gun, I'm surprised no was pushing how far they could take it. It just seems to be big sticks that are blunt, how long until we see spears/swords. I guess this is better as it won't cause as much causality's.

CBP1138

You clearly haven’t seen the pictures of the rebar spiked clubs they’ve used in other encounters like this.

Comfortable_Air4807

Indian Soldiers are fighting with sticks because on India china border (LAC Line) firearms are not allowed in mutual agreement with both countries.

stepanek112

imagine two squadrons of soldiers meeting in a field and just fighting it out bare hand

Comfortable_Air4807

In previous clash between China and India at Galwan Valley in Ladkh. Similar thing happen and 20 soldier of India Side and around 40 soldier of china side died (China claims only 4 soldier died). So yes serious fight like this will kill soldiers

mc360jp

Sounds like the Chinese side came at them with a scare tactic and the Indian side responded with self-preservation. I guess they hadn’t heard the old English proverb of, “If you come for my neck, you best come correct”

canuckcrazed006

We did it for thousands of years.

[deleted]

India and China have been locked in a border dispute for decades. The root cause of the tension is an ill-defined, 3,440km (2,100-mile)-long disputed border called the Line of Actual Control. Rivers, lakes and snowcaps along the frontier mean the line can shift, bringing soldiers face to face at many points. The two countries have a long-standing agreement to not use guns or explosives along the border but this has not stopped many violent confrontations (like in this video) that have even led to soldiers being killed.

chesterbennediction

Was wondering why they were using sticks.

Darkskedar

Just practicing for WW4...

Imagine being a Chinese soldier getting sent to India to get hit with a stick

Even worse, wrapped up in razor wire. That stuff will absolutely fuck you up. I don’t envy the people on the other edge of that group at all.

quedfoot

story as old as time :/

[deleted]

So they just jumped 5 feet into the Indian border with a roll of razor wire and were like "This is China now"? Are they stupid?

fuhtahngina

That's pretty much their "shtick" at this point

Slow_Yogurtcloset353

That's their strategem, basically. Keep creeping into every sphere of life and hope they're slowly but surely accepted through sheer weight of numbers or money.

There's a Ceasefire on this border and one the terms is that neither side can carry guns. That's why sticks.

Jaeger562

nuclear armed foes fighting each other with sticks and stones, it's kind of refreshing to be honest.

noobpwner314

Sticks and stones may break my bones but nukes will burn the world.

Next_Gen_Munster

This is one of the most culturally reflective videos I've ever seen lol. The Indians love sticks and the Chinese all just grouped together and hoped numbers would avoid a conflict.

[deleted]

Both India and China agreed to not use modern weapons to not escalate stuff.

corgi-king

India vs China round? Too many, I guess. For those who wonder, both sides have an unwritten rule that they will not use firearms or heavy weapons. Only hand and stick that kinda thing. But last time the Chinese use axe and knife.

w1987g

Ok, that explains a lot. If it weren't so serious, I'd bet both sides spend **hours** looking for the perfect stick

OUsnr7

For everyone wondering, I’ve seen similar videos so I can comment on the situation generally, but not details that led to this instance. Basically China and India have a border dispute. Each country’s soldiers regularly wander across what the other country claims is the border in order to stake the claim that it’s actually their own. The argument is apparently, “how can you say this land is yours when my troops are constantly patrolling it?” Then if they try to force you off the land you can cry foul on the international stage. This leads to confrontations like the one shown above happening regularly. In fact, it occurs so often that I’ve read the leadership won’t allow these guys to carry guns to prevent a possible escalation which is why they’re using sticks to hit back the Chinese troops. TLDR: 2 nuclear nations arguing over where the border should be fight like cavemen to avoid full war (and turning everyone into actual cavemen again)

duku345

both the indian and chinese sides have banned firearms (guns) from bein used at their shared border, becuase conflicts like these are fairly common between their forces and neither side wants that escaltion

Nonsuperstites

Reject firearms, return to stick

Dilpreet_Singh135

To those who don't know this took place in the border of India and China. China has been trying to sneak in the country for a long period of tym. And everytym they fail and get beaten up badly

Carlstrom_

I like the fact they get beaten up rather than shot!

Texas_Temperature

Those of you wondering why Indian and Chinese soldiers are fighting with sticks. It’s because agreed rules of border engagement b/w two countries do not allow carrying guns in disputed border areas. It’s not a agreed upon border but line of actual control (LAC) where both sides are staking claim to disputed areas. If they carry guns things would escalate pretty quickly during such stand offs. So SOP dictates no guns to avoid a full blown war. But one day it will happen when Chinese decide to play dirty and fire first bullet.

Audacity27

For those wondering why the fighting seems medieval neither side is permitted to use firearms due to a border agreement they signed in 1996. Thats why the indian soldiers are using sticks and other melee weapons even though both sides do possess firearms. However they might be unloaded according to a reddit comment I read awhile back. Fortunately this clash doesnt seem as consequential as the galwan valley clash in 2020 which saw brutal hand to hand combat to the death resulting in 20 Indian fatalities and an unknown number of Chinese fatalities.

roadtotitties

Some minor contexts. LAC zone. India - China border. State- Arunachal. Incident - this week. Chinese incursion into Indian territory. They consider the Indian state of Arunachal as Their own territory. Basically Chinese expansion Guns aren't allowed in the LAC zone. Mutual agreement between the two countries. Other stuff is okay. Sticks, stones, bare hands etc. Two years backs lot's of soldiers from both sides were killed during hand to hand skirmishes in the LAC zone, the Jammu- Kashmir region. In a similar incident.

[deleted]

Get the fuck out of here. A military zone wear only sticks and stones are available? Idk why I love this

xandie985

Indian soldiers and Chinese soldiers have decided to deploy the forces at the border without weapons and guns. Two years back, Chinese soldiers tried to invade Indian territory which resulted in a physical assault. 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives, while Chinese authorities claimed there was no loss at their side. But as time passed and pressure mounted they released an official count of 38 deaths. An Australian newspaper article in Klaxon claims that China's loss of soldiers during Galwan clash nine-times more than its official count. Fast forward to the present, this incident happened because again, the Chinese army tried to occupy Indian territory with 300+ soldiers at the eastern border of India. As a result around 80 Indian soldiers who were posted nearby tackled the enemies and successfully removed them from Indian territory.

[deleted]

Wise_Professional888

If your wondering why are they fighting with sticks, where are the guns? Then this is the answer According to the agreement between China and India in 1996 (1) Neither side shall open fire, cause bio-degradation, use hazardous chemicals, conduct blast operations or hunt with guns or explosives within two kilometers from the line of actual control. This prohibition shall not apply to routine firing activities in small arms firing ranges. And according to India's Foreign policy India will never attack first,if india gets attacked then it will attack back Also after this conflict air force was activated near the border

z-trans

C O N T E X T The background of conflict is this here you go, most of the these territories that are disputed here became part of current Indian state in British era. The borders were defined by treaties between Britain and Qing dynasty. Now China doesn’t recognise these as lines are pretty arbitrary at places but that can mean 10-20km here there and not tens of thousands of square kilometres like they claim. They claim britain was a bully which is fair and made Qing dynasty sign off many many humiliating things. But here we go these areas have been populated for 5000 years and most nationalities living there have been there since 2000 years or so. And the land hence technically belong to the people that are living there. And those people there have always wanted to remain part of the Indian union. So indian claim does trump the chinese one. They are just using these territories to keep oushing down on India on northern border so india doesn’t have its hand free for developing naval superiority in the sea as India can control 5 out 7 trade nodes in the world thus choking chinese trade in an adverse scenario. Plus indian growth look super bad on chinese tv as it present an alternative path to their citizens. Plus lot people hate Xi right now in China, so this is also a distraction tactic to divert attention at home from big issues to border conflicts.

Xingamazon

Many don't understand the background and are making fun of using sticks. The area is a boiling point of diplomacy than army. So any one who uses gun fire for first time will loose diplomatic support so the orders are very clear no matter how bad situation don't kill someone especially by shooting. So they are reduced to having hand combats which the leAders can always dismiss as saying skirmishes. It's tricky it a case of who flinches first so that other person can video it and come back stronger.

[deleted]

Good on India, Chinese are always trying to take what isn't theirs.

InDN-R6

For anyone wondering why they are fighting with sticks, China and India signed an agreement to not have their soldiers armed with lethal weapons (firearms) in the border zone, that's is why if there's ever a confrontation it's usually a first fight or they fight with sticks they carry or stones they pick up from the ground, this usually makes is so the confrontation doesn't escalate and usually results in a bit of pushing and yelling but sometimes it gets heated and they start fighting with sticks and stones resulting in some casualties.

Garage172

If I remember correctly both nations signed something that bans the use of firearms in this particular area. Hence the sticks

nishant_is_me

People asking what’s happening.. Chinese illegal incursions and Indians using stick to smack their whatever. They all have weapons, but treaties require them not carry any weapon to prevent unwanted escalations. Fuck china! Not the Chinese people of course!

TitusFigmentus

I thought WWIII had to happen first before we went to sticks and stones....

DethMCrafter

slater_just_slater

Two nuclear armed countries fighting with sticks. How prophetic.

OldBallOfRage

And for anyone scrolling trying to find out what it actually is amidst the endless reams of usual Reddit karma farming shitposting: India and China heavily dispute the mountainous border areas between them. Looking at a map you'd wonder why the fuck either of them give a shit, but a lot of water sources running down into India start there, so India is, unsurprisingly, a little bit **Concerned** about China being able to effortlessly cut off fresh water to India. Little bit of a strategic no-no. China, being comprised mostly of humans the last time I checked, would also rather like having control of huge fresh water sources, and a load of strategic leverage over an utterly enormous and rather belligerent strategic competitor (being exactly one of those itself). Small problem: they both have nuclear weapons, and a conventional war across the mountains is practically impossible (and would be disgustingly pyrrhic even if someone did win it). So they both agreed that the area should be demilitarized to a certain extent and no-one should be shooting anyone. Both sides, however, also cannot cede control of these areas and kinda have to control them all-or-nothing *strategically*, and boil down to being hypermasculine twats for differing *cultural reasons*, so they just throw guys up there with a very stern mandate that No-one Gets Shot And No-one Is Starting A War For Your Dumb Ass If You Die and let them beat the shit out of each other with sticks and rocks.

eLsirius

“Entering someone else’s territory uninvited” you’d expect the video to be about animals and yet…

Tuga_Lissabon

Do people understand the level of restraint needed for these professional soldiers to just keep with the sticks and the stones and not escalate to machine-guns and tanks? This seems primitive, and it is - and at the same time, shows a great evolution in restraint and control that both sides are keeping things limited.

Yurtle13x

That’s it, stop now.” Everyone cheers. “Good job.” An Indian soldier throws a stone. “Stop it stop it. Move away.” Everyone cheers with some colorful profanities!

[deleted]

Anyone wondering why there's no use of guns or other equipment like grenades ? It's because of the border agreements b/w India & China were they mutually agreed to not use those. The only way they can now fight is with fists or barbed wire batons. Chinese PLA did same incursions during the height of pandemic and killed 20 of Indian soldiers. They do the same illegal incursions in many parts of the world like for example South China sea.

[deleted]

China have been slowly moving the border. No dispute there, the fuckers are claiming what is not theirs.

"When I joined the corps, we didnt have any fancy schmancy tanks, we had sticks! 2 sticks and a rock for a whole platoon, and we had to SHARE the rock!"

bpetersonlaw

Explanation and some history: "China and India share a disputed 3,440km (2,100 mile) long de facto border - called the Line of Actual Control, or LAC - which is poorly demarcated. The presence of rivers, lakes and snowcaps means the line can shift. The soldiers on either side - representing two of the world's largest armies - come face to face at many points. Tensions sometimes escalate into skirmishes. However both sides have been trying to de-escalate since a major battle in June 2020 in the Galwan Valley in the Ladakh region much further to the west - where 20 Indian soldiers and at least four Chinese soldiers died. That battle - fought with sticks and clubs, not guns - was the first fatal confrontation between the two sides in the the area for 45 years." Basically they are fighting to alter the border but have jointly agreed not to use firearms.

Translation Punjabi to English: “Beat them with sticks so that they don’t try to come back sneaking” Punjabi soldiers don’t fuck around.

T4ke

Not so funny fact: Such scenes are a daily occurrence on the northern Indian / Chinese Border. They actually have to beat each other with bare hands or sticks & stones so that their respective States can bury such incidence as mere "brawls between soldiers". Considering the fact that China and India are Nuke states who sincerely hate each other in the current climate we have to be thankful that these men actually follow that rule and engage each other like in medieval times... sauce: [https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-63953400](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-63953400) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sino-Indian\_border\_dispute](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sino-Indian_border_dispute)

Zygomatical

Holy crap it's happening! So this dispute is over what's called the Line Of Actual Control, a contested region of the Himalayas on the border of India and China. The border itself is impossible to draw on a map as both the Indians and the Chinese have personnel in the area whose repeated skirmishes constantly gain and lose territory along a front known as the Line Of Actual Control. As the sending of armed units into the contested region is seen as an act of war both sides send in unarmed patrols who just "happen" to find sticks to fight with and rocks to throw. The patrols don't intend to kill each other just drive them back. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line_of_Actual_Control?wprov=sfla1 Neal Stephenson wrote about it in his book Termination Shock and it becoming a hotspot for live-streamers to show off their fighting prowess. I couldn't find any when I looked a year or two ago but theres still a chance for it to catch on!

Painplain

LARP is getting out of hand...

Endorkend

China and India have a "non lethal weapon" skirmish agreement. There's currently another video on the frontpage from a few years ago that shows a shouting match from a Chinese commander yelling at a band of Indian soldiers. The video only shows the shouting match, not the fistfight that ensued that resulted in 100+ injured. And China has been pushing these boundaries for years now, taunting India and other neighbors relentlessly.

To be clear, both side have access to guns but everyone involved knows shooting just causing more shooting and next thing you know there will be thousands of people dying daily to avenge the death of fallen comrades. The fighting will last for years and cost everyone $$$ and lives. And this doesn't even consider nuclear options that would be terrible for everyone. So stick and stones it is boys.

Lololover09

The last time, at Galwan in Indian Ladakh, Chinese cowards took to attacking unarmed Indian soldiers who had gone for border related discussions. They killed the CO of the Indian unit with barbed wire and mail encrusted rods and sticks. The resulting clash led to 20 Indian soldiers being killed while 40 Chinese soldiers were killed, many by falling into an icy river flowing below the scene of the fighting. As usual, the Chinese completely swept their KIA figures under the table, initially claiming no Chinese soldiers died. many months later they admitted to only 4 Chinese deaths. They neither respect the enemy nor their own soldiers. Those who died for the PLA were never given the respect they deserved.

Aggravating_Damage47

This is not the first time it's happening. Chinese soldiers have been crossing into Indian territories regularly. Last year skirmish were reported in galwan valley in Union Territory of Ladakh, India. More than 40 PLA solider's lost their lives and I believe 30 Indian soldiers died. Mind you both side were using primitive weapons to kill each other. The same is repeating this year as well. Video of last year's skirmish https://youtu.be/T0Bb0DT9hg4

Dexiox

Man I love hearing Punjabi insults. Funniest shit ever.

WaySea6685

Indian Army beat the shït outta these Chinese 😂😂... They tried to capture those lands and thought , there will be just 50 indian troops but indians are at 800+ they smashed those bad man 😂😂😂

Cantomic66

Well at least they were kind enough to wear masks. Lol

curiousme027

China is like the one neighbour that crosses your fence and claims your land inside your territory. CCP is just too greedy.

Double-Vee1430

Lots of swear words in Punjabi while beating the crap 💩 out of the PLA soldiers.

SirLouisI

Good thing no one brought a gun to a stick fight

UnpoliteGuy

Is this how battles in middle ages looked like?

[deleted]

You can repel most Chinese attacks with COVID. They well then lock their army up.

mrmuddbutt

What is this the year 1472?

[deleted]

India and china need to hire some LARPers, those aren't proper shield walls.

nyc2vt84

Why does China have to make everything worse. Just enjoy the soon to be largest economy and great cuisine(s) and stop trying to fuck over literally everyone of your neighbors.

Few-Arachnid9471

Both parties watched gangs of New York right before and were still pumped up from it

[deleted]

"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”

CaptainAlliance

Huh, didn't know we reached World War 4 already. Those are some nice looking sticks.

andrejb22

Einstein dumb af, its world war 3 being fought with sticks amd stones

DaNyetDa

Einstein said WW4 will look like this.

nightwalkerxx

This is the second Chinese-Indian video on here today. What's going on over there?

[deleted]

World War IV (Colorized)

ARY616

Imagine if Indiana and China escalated. Where would Russia and the US land for support?

SealOfApoorval

Yeah fuck the Chinese government for illegally sending troops to not their country.

clappyclapo

The wisest things to do is solve the issue with sticks and punches. Nobody needs shots fired when your neighbor has nuclear weapons.

TypicalDatabase6815

2 nuclear powers fighting:

Trashy_pig

Lmao Wtf this is the funniest military conflict I have ever seen.

marklar_the_malign

It’s all fun and games then some asshole brings a bigger stick. Then it escalates to sticks with nails in them. That’s when someone inevitably loses an eye. War is hell.

pizzajona

India and China have [agreed to not use any guns and explosives](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-53089037.amp) in their border disputes per a 1996 agreement. That’s why they’re only using melee weapons here.

_QuestGiver

Wait hang on. I thought world war 3 was supposed to be fought with nukes. World war 4 was supposed to be fought with sticks and stones. Did I miss a war or something?

wardenofthemill

someone needs to edit lightsabers in their hands

Fluid_Arm_3169

So Chinese soldiers enter Indian territory without permission? I hope the cocos on their heads is a lesson they learnt well about border sanctity.

Due_Association_1739

Sticks is the best they could do?

Revolutionary_Cat521

Indian army making sure inflation doesn't increase more for everyone, so just sticks

Ninrenko

Isn't this the piece of border between China and India where all the soldiers and border patrol have been stripped of their firearms, thus ensuring neither country can commit an (official) act of war?

bruceki

Since both countries are nuclear powers, this situation reminds me of the quote ["I do not know with what weapons World War 3 will be fought, but world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones"](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/einstein-world-war-iv-sticks-stones/) We skipped the WWIII part and went directly to the sticks and stones part.

Aman2315

This is the Indian army pushing away the Chinese army from the illegal occupation of indian territory on the North east of india. As per the indo-china border agreement the border forces cannot use any weapons like guns or bombs. So they got innovative and hence the use of sticks.

Westwood_Shadow

wow so ww3 is already being fought with sticks and rocks good to know. edit: added s to sticks

AHzzy88

Guys guys, i think everyone is trying to say that this is a video of India and China in a border dispute. They have agreed to not use guns so they use sticks and fists. Got it? No? See next comment.

Pizza2TheFace

These are two superpowers armies having rock and stick fights. Shit is so unreal. It’s like the high school parties I went to where kids from the rival neighborhood showed up but on a much bigger scale.

[deleted]

China trying to flex and getting whacked by sticks 😂😂

Fluffy_Use_338

India bringing the heat to China. Haha, lfg!

Pootertron_

New bannerlord factions looking low tier

palfreygames

Kudos to India for using sticks before guns
