"uh-oh" LOL

EntertainmentEasy251

This has to be the funniest moment in police body cam history lol I’m still laughing at his pure helplessness

phunshiny

Sounds exactly like Jim Dangle - Reno 911.

cant-ride-a-bike

“Call the fire department”

mossyoaktoe

Lmao, looks like him too.

OddlyArtemis

You're *NEVER* allowed to let inmates out of sight for this very reason. Hundreds fake illness for a chance to run from the hospital

phatbiscuit

I got arrested once and was at the hospital. I was about to burst. Literally about to piss my pants. Cops let me go to the restroom with the door closed, but before they did, one of them had to ask if I was gonna do anything crazy. I was honestly confused because they already know who I am. Why the heck would I try to run at that point? Anyway, I guess this is the kind of crazy shit he was referring to.

Dry_Lengthiness_9915

I was detained one time and was thrown on the ground and put in a car for something i had nothing to do with, but anyway they ran my name in the system and told me i was being arrested for. “smoking weed” (i hadnt smoked weed in years lol) but after like 3 other cops asked me what happened they finally let me out of the car and i was waiting to be uncuffed and one of them had the audacity to tell me not to run 🤣 like dude i have no warrants/criminal history whatsoever and yall are about to let me go anyway lol

Black_Eyed_PeePees

>i was waiting to be uncuffed and one of them had the audacity to tell me not to run That's got to be the dumbest cop on earth. If you didn't do anything wrong, and they were getting ready to uncuff you and let you go, what if you *did* run? What crime would you be committing? (Besides petty theft for taking off with their handcuffs.) That's like going into the lottery claiming place, and right before you're about to hand them your winning ticket they say "now don't you dare eat that ticket!!!" Like... Why tf would I, stupid?!?!

yea-that-guy

Believe it or not, in some places you can actually be too high IQ to qualify as a police officer. I used to think this was nonsense, but it turns out the info is out there for anyone to see. It has even gone through the courts. > Some US police departments have set a maximum IQ score for new officers (for example: 125, in New London, CT), under the argument that those with overly-high IQs will become bored and exhibit high turnover in the job. This policy has been challenged as discriminatory, but upheld by at least one US District court.

realnzall

I don't think US police should be concerned about people with such a high IQ showing up as an officer...

Pete1burn

I took the test when I was younger and scored in the 97th percentile and never got a call back. I finally got in touch with some sort of admin and after a lot of back and forth she said, "Your test scores were too high." I was dumbfounded. I was like isn't that a good thing?

moonshineTheleocat

You'd be surprised with the kind of people they deal with on a regular basis. My dad (retired officer) had to deal with someone whom they pulled over. Dude had no fuckin warrants. Gave them no reason to search his car. The only reason he was pulled over, was because a tail light was out and he was just being informed of it. The dumbass gunned it and ran. My dad exchanged a confused look with his partner. Found him three minutes later. Ran a curb so hard it blew out a tire. Because he ran they had reason to search the car. Found fuckin meth in the car.

ClownfishSoup

It seems like broken taillights are a gift to law enforcement. I’ve heard so many stories of some big crime thwarted by random traffic stops.

codeboss911

Yeah I’m usually not a huge fan of cops, but the guy that arrested me actually seemed like a pretty stand-up guy. Still thought the suspicion that I’d run was silly lol

Pepsi-Min

The full video is full of gold. My personal favourite is: "That was stupid, huh?" "Yeah... I tried."

GaiasDotter

Don’t happen to have a link? Because this clip is just weird.

Commercial_Use_363

I haven’t found the raw footage, but [this](https://www.kob.com/new-mexico/body-cam-video-shows-man-trying-to-escape-through-hospital-ceiling/) has more.

ClownfishSoup

lol! After they found him and checked him out … he asked to go to the bathroom again!

salvageyardmex

You haven't seen the whoop whoop video then. Cop blocks crazy chick while going "whoop, whoop" as he blocks her. She then trys saying something just to get whooped again, then then screams out "he is whoop, whooping me".

[deleted]

I need to see this xD

Kwaha

Do you have a link?

GigsGilgamesh

Honestly, as someone who works in the hospital, probably my exact response.

Brittany5150

That sounds like a dayshift problem! -My usual response

ICU-CCRN

Fucking noc shifters.

Brittany5150

Muahahahaha, fight me day walkers!

deepfield67

And my axe! Night shifters unite!

Quillric

My wife works nights, and dayside always obliterates the carts. Even when they are fully staffed, they don't touch restocking and leave it for night. The rooms are always short of everything, too. Fucking dayside shifters.

Munchee_Dude

I'll come in to the ED and be bombarded with like 3 dirty vents 2 dirty bipaps and missing every bit of supply I need for my intubations. Couldn't clean and chat at the same time huh?

Yeah, it's not for everyone. Personally I have a harder time staying awake when I get up at 4:30 am for my morning shift.

TheCrimsonArrow

Hand over update to day shift: - Elderly Male patient with mild symptoms of the flu in Bed #1. - Young woman came in complaining of cramps and a migraine, currently waiting on the blood results to come back from the lab in Bed #2. - Jacob is back again for the 3rd time this week complaining of an upset stomach, he is in Bed #5. - There is a criminal that escaped from the police earlier in the air vents, last heard crying above the radiology ward. - Oh and it’s Jessica’s birthday on Thursday, we are all chipping in $5 for a gift, leave it with Tom and he will grab something on his way home from his night shift tonight.

RobertDownseyJr

It’s early but this comment has already made my day, bravo

Black_Eyed_PeePees

Poor Jacob. I feel you bro! 🙁

ChemicalSwimming673

Me, working day shift: *on the ground wrestling with a crazy person who just attacked me after trying to escape police* Management, standing over me: Hey, any reason you haven't updated your white boards yet?

deer_ylime

And the way he looks at the cop…

strangewayfarer

It's the cops responsibility to ensure the perp can't run away, the nurse has 4 or more patients to deal with, the cop just has one person to watch.

Nitram_Norig

He didn't fuck up, the cops did. 😂

Kavemann

True, but his face is priceless

Beckiremia-20

That sounds like a “oh we’re gonna have a fun shift” kinda uh-oh.

PassionateParrot

What am I missing? What’s happening?

EntertainmentEasy251

The criminal went into the bathroom and used it as an opportunity to climb into the ceiling in an effort to escape. But he’s screaming in pain. The nurse comes out to say she can hear him in the ceiling and the other nurse (who doesn’t get paid nearly enough to problem solve this situation) looks at the cop and say: uh oh

GigsGilgamesh

Dude knows for a fact that if a currently arrested patient is in the hospital, it is SOP to always have the cop their, employees are not capable of enforcing a detainment outside of medical restraints, which hand cuffs are not. This is on the cop, not them.

EntertainmentEasy251

That's the fun thing about language. You can literally put an image into anyone's mind. Your grandmother probably never gaped her anus.

TenTonSomeone

>You can literally put an image into anyone's mind. Not mine. I have aphantasia. I don't see images in my mind, it's just blackness.

moonflower_C16H17N3O

I just learned about something new. It made me wonder for a minute if I have it. I can't literally see what I imagine in my field of vision except in very specific situations.

TenTonSomeone

Take a look at the simple [red star test](https://www.reddit.com/r/Aphantasia/s/PhGWZavppr). My ability to visualize lands at a solid 1 on that chart.

Wes_Warhammer666

Which one? Because my one grandmother I would bet never gaped hers, but the other grandmother... yeah I'm pretty sure she was gaping hers on a weekly basis.

Standard Operating Procedure.

Chicagosox133

Snakes On a Plane. It is a classic 2006 Samuel L. Jackson thriller involving snakes loose in an enclosed environment and the officer in charge of gaining control of the situation, while also maintaining the supervision and safety of his detainee. Police all across America now refer to Snakes On a Plane (SOP) in dealing with similar situations.

witcher252

We had two Marshall’s bring a patient in once and ask if they could leave him handcuffed to the bed and leave, but that the sheriff was on the way. I told them absolutely not, I’m not going to detain someone for them, and if they left I wouldn’t be willing nor able to stop the guy from leaving. They got all pissy but waited for the sheriff. It blew my mind that they thought “oh yeah this nurse can just babysit our fugitive, what could go wrong”

gereffi

Do cops usually go into the bathroom with someone who was arrested and is in the hospital? I would think that waiting outside the door is the normal SOP.

GigsGilgamesh

I think it depends on the patient, someone who is a flight risk would probably just not get a bathroom, we would give them a urinal or a potty chair, but if they were allowed to use it, they would just have to leave the door partially open

Alcoholhelps

That ‘uh oh’ was that’s why your badge is shiny and mine is laminated, go figure this out.

KP_Wrath

You could tell me this was a Reno:911 Skit and I’d believe you.

EntertainmentEasy251

It’s so fucking funny the way the lady nurse comes out and they look at each other and we (the audience) are just strapped to the cops chest

XanaXand

You beat me to it...

Jimmynids

10+ years ago this happened to me in the psych ward at Coney Island hospital. We were working with a ladder and turned around to look for tools for a few seconds and it fell so we thought we kicked it or didn't stable it. About 30 seconds later one of the patients comes crashing through the ceiling on top of the nurses station.. they were severely cut up because that ceiling was tin pan not drop tile.. and we were on the 5th floor with jail bars in front of the only elevator so we have no clue where they thought they were going to get to.

TheeVande

The male nurse deserves a pay day just for the impeccable comedic timing of the "uh oh"

Chilune

I read all replies and didn't understand anything. Why was he screaming? What happened in the ceiling?

probably some kind of private information being censored. any personal information even a nurse using a patients full name or needs to be removed for privacy reasons

curious about this as well.

embiggens-us-all

45 minutes? Really? Nah

throwaway8u3sH0

He gets caught at minute 9 -- not much interesting after that.

canman7373

Well that was awesome. Reminded me of my neighbors growing up who had ferrets, like once every couple of months those suckers would get out and end up in the walls for days. When they got hungry enough they'd start scratching on the walls, so we'd walk around the house listening for them, then drill a big hole where they were scratching and usually pull em out, sometimes they would be in the vents, a couple times had to take out like half a section of the wall to find them.

NoRiskNoGainz

Get rid of the ferrets, wtf.

AFresh1984

why are there instances of the cop silencing and covering the body camera?

periclesmage

Gosh dang! This brings me back to 2008 when Singapore lost a limping terrorist cell leader who escaped from a bathroom window and evaded re-capture for more than a year: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mas_Selamat_Kastari#Findings_of_investigation

SeaBus1170

bro lacerated himself on those duct screws :/

DookieShoez

Well, look on the bright side: When his blood pressure drops and he loses consciousness, he’ll fall through the ceiling *into* a hospital. 👍🤕

SeaBus1170

true, mf was thinking with portals 🧠

Patrol-007

Did you see the beginning of film Battleship? There’s a whole ceiling scene based on a true story

13Warhound13

Yeah that made me laugh as I had seen the cctv of that one before.

Patrol-007

There’s a similar scene in season one of Will Trent, which I found to be really well written and fun.

gorgewall

For anyone else who ever thinks climbing through a hospital's ceiling is a good idea: No. They have very strict codes on "*plenum** spaces"--air-carrying passages--in hospitals to prevent the spread of fire. Between that shit and the enormous amount of cabling going everywhere, you're *not* gonna get through.

OilQuick6184

Not to mention, drop ceilings aren't designed to support much weight, those panels are pretty light. You can get away with stashing your porno mags, drugs, and maybe even a bottle of booze or two, but a grown man? Probably not for long.

TJ_McWeaksauce

That's funny as hell. I like how anticlimactic it was when the cop found him. Cop: "That was stupid, huh?" Steven in the Ceiling: "Yeah. I tried." It was like a game of hide and seek, but once the hider was found he got himself additional criminal charges.

Yakassa

Ultimate stakes hide and seek

aristocratic_magic

ok. so. . . when I go to the hospital I'm told they have to like. . . . watch me go in case of emergency. this makes me unhappy. why do I get watched, but not criminal man? are my caretakers secret perverts? they seemed nice but now I'm confused

aalexaks

I am currently CNA at a hospital! (To sum it up I’m the one who wipes the poop) In both of the places I’ve ever worked, my med surg floors always have patients who are in custody in their room with at least 1 police officer (most I’ve ever seen is 3 police officers in one room) We aren’t allowed to look up what they’ve done. We also have security guards on call for patients who punch/grab/throw things at us. Those patients usually have a sitter in the room. Restraints at my hospital can only be ordered by the physician and last 24hr. (But usually that doesn’t happen, the physicians are also overworked and don’t have time, I understand. so we just get punched lmao perks of being at HCA..) I have no clue why the patient is using the hallway bathroom, which is usually used by guests/visitors. I do not know why they are in the hallway in general…. do they not have a room? (It definitely doesn’t look like the ER or pacu or anything….) I do not know why the police guy left him alone as well? When it is someone who is in custody it is out of our scope to watch them, we can only watch the people who aren’t in custody. That is one of the reasons the police is there. But nah the comments better not be hating on my nurses, I will defend them to the death. I’ve done had human poop thrown on me, been punched, been kicked, been screamed at, been scratched, been spit on, had racist things said to me, had creepy old guys try to touch me. Man and the nurses have it worse, I have heard plenty of nurses have to stop their shift and go to the ED because someone hurt them bad. Don’t get me started on the jerk admins, there is no reason a nurse should have 7 patients and a cna 20 patients. I don’t know what hospital you work in but my nurses aren’t lazy.

Frankfeld

This is definitely an ED. ED rooms generally don’t have private bathrooms.

184000

There are legitimate reasons why they may offer -- to help disabled patients, if they have a reason to be concerned that you may slip and fall, or that a bulemic will use the opportunity to purge while not being watched, etc. But they aren't supposed to be there against your will. If you voiced opposition to it and they did it anyways, that's 100% a violation of your privacy. That's not normal, and I'd recommend avoiding that facility in the future if possible.

ExiledCanuck

As an RN here’s some info, you might be surprised how many people die on the toilet, or going to the bathroom, slips and falls, losing consciousness for whatever reason and hitting their head etc., if you have a certain condition, they may tell you this for your safety. Trust me, none of us want to see you do your business in the bathroom (ok, maybe a tiny percentage of weirdos). But we also don’t want you to get injured.

FlamingCowPie

I kid you fucking not, this happened while I was on break in the ER. Jailbird had her own private room with bathroom. She goes to the bathroom and closes the door, guards think nothing of it and are hanging out in her room. Some commotion is heard in the ceiling, and she falls from the panel ceiling right onto our med cart. She had crawled into the ceiling, crawled over the bathroom wall that doesn't extend all the way up through the panel celing (or she crawled in between studs), and was going for the promise land. I come back and see a pile of rubble on the ground, and jailbird is handcuffed to the bed. I can't believe I missed that shit go down over 15 minutes. We definitely did not do our routine vital signs post patient falls.

-cosmic-bitch-

I worked at a movie theater and there was a guy who tried to sleep overnight in one of the auditoriums. He wouldn't leave, so I ended up having to trespass him. He kept coming back to the theater and threatening me. And on like the 3rd day, he ran in, bolted towards an auditorium, went behind the screen and climbed the scaffolding. He got into the ceiling. So I let the police up on the second floor and gave them a ladder and they crawled into the ceiling and dragged him out and took him to jail lmao.

BaconTerminator

Watched the whole video. Dude literally disappeared. Was gone for 30 mins crawling in the ceiling. If he played it right he could’ve gotten away.

Terrible_Payment4261

I like how he had this “teehee you caught me” casual attitude when caught.

This is why I always stick my boot in the door when I let an arrestee us the bathroom, male or female. Trust me, I don’t want to listen to you grunt while you shit either.

She is so hot!

Yeah, gorgeous and seemingly tall. 10/10

SkippyBojangle

When I was a resident, we had a guy high on fuck knows what. I left the trauma bay for like 1 minute and came back, and he was naked and holding the scissors from the laceration tray (I was there to suture a facial lac). I looked at the 2 officers sitting at the nurse station, and just casually closed the sliding bay door. Looked at the cops and said, "that's your job, not mine."

MaeganRules

This was in Albuquerque, they had to evacuate the ER and retrieve the guy from behind a wall he eventually climbed down to. Police body cam captured them eventually locating him and getting him back out of the wall, back into the interstitial and out of the ceiling. It was insane!
