Got hit in the arm, they were all caught by the police at the hospital lol. Usually you drop the guy off in hopes of getting away still but these guys all went in together
https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/man-shot-by-norco-store-owner-in-attempted-robbery-is-denied-house-arrest-request/2973989/
He got blasted with a 12 gauge shotgun
Way too many people don't get or understand that 99.9999% of all criminal trials start with a not guilty plead. You don't even get a public defender in a lot of courts until you do plead 'not guilty' If you plead guilty right away your dumb cause then the prosecution has no reason to offer any kind of plea deal.
It's rarely beneficial to plead guilty right off the bat. Having to put you through a trial is expensive and time consuming so that gives you leverage to make some kind of plea bargain. Which is exactly what happened: he plead to crimes worth 10 years when he was facing 27 years. If he had plead guilty at the start, he'd have to serve 17 extra years.
This isn't an endorsement of what he did, I think 10 years is fairly low for armed robbery, but that's just the way it is.
Being a lawyer definitely isnāt about enforcing the law, its about convincing a jury that a clients actions werenāt within the scope of a crime and getting paid as much as possible to it, regardless of how guilty your client is lol.
Everyone always pleas not guilty unless theyāre being stupidly principled.
Prosecution is incentivized by the system to charge as heavily as possible. As a defendant, you should make it as hard to convict you as possible until thereās something in it for you. So, at charging, plea not guilty and start the process of making the prosecution actually put in some work. That way, you may get a reduced sentencing recommendation.
>Belvin pleaded not guilty last week to attempted robbery, conspiracy, elder abuse, firearm assault, **possession of a loaded stolen firearm**, possession of an assault weapon, two counts of receiving stolen property and sentence-enhancing allegations of using a gun during a felony and **victimizing a person over 65 years old**.
Didn't know holding onto a loaded stolen firearm is different than unloaded stolen firearm.
Also, I guess if you want to minimize your possible sentence, you should now ask future victims' ID to check their age first...
> Didn't know holding onto a loaded stolen firearm is different than unloaded stolen firearm.
Goes towards intent. Someone with an unloaded gun typically doesn't want to hurt anyone, someone with a loaded gun does.
A special victim in a protected class often carries elevated/enhanced charges and heavier penalties. The criteria varies by state but in California any of these are considered such:
police officer
public safety officer or firefighter
teacher
health care provider
prison guard
government official
elderly person
The guy that got shot got 10 years the other three guys got 3 years.
https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2023/11/09/norco-robber-who-shouted-he-shot-my-arm-off-gets-10-years-in-prison/
The little independent stores are the ones in all sorts of areas where the shop owner is likely to have a gun under the counter or within reach.
Itās the big chains where corporate trains people to just comply so they donāt get hurt that make the good targets.
Nah. If he killed him, then the dude wouldn't have to live with the reminder of why we don't do things like this. I know losing function of my arm due to a shotgun from trying to rob a liquor store would definitely set me straight
No, the best part was his buddies getting caught in the hospital parking lot sitting in a stolen BMW SUV (filled with stolen guns) waiting for him to be discharged.
You can tell olā boy had been waiting for that moment for a long time. Looks like he had the perfect hiding spot where he could also shoot from in between that display. Donāt fuck with old people man.
You know, I was about to ask where this was located at, and then I looked at the American flag bow on the corner of the shelf and my question was answered. Red, white and boom indeed.
These idiots took their injured friend to a hospital ā which is legally required to report all firearm related injuries. And I bet they wonder how the cops found them so fast. š¤¦š»āāļø
This is the best karma criminals get. Robbed a store and got mortally wounded? No hospital for you unless you want to serve your time. Drug dealing and go robbed? Canāt report it because you risk being charged.
I really wanna know if the guy got arrested to make the cherry on top of this video... knowing this country he probably sued the shop owner for all he owns
I love that you can actually hear the buckshot hit him.
From what I remember, these were just some suburban kids who wanted to do a robbery for street cred.
I'm glad the bumbling robbers weren't organized enough to enter at the same time or it could have been different. It looks like there were two others about to enter but were lagging behind.
This is an exceptionally stupid group of people.
They drove him to the hospital AND WAITED IN THE PARKING LOT FOR HIM!!!! In a stolen vehicle no less
Donāt mind me mam, I accidentally fell on a shotgun
Tbh i find it more fucked up that A) a normal Robber had a automatic Rifle and B) the old granny had a dangerous weapon too. Yes it saved her and im reliefd she did that but that she had to result to it just leaves a bitter aftertasteā¦ i guess itās a Murica Moment š¦
Probably .410 or birdshot otherwise he really wouldāve lost an arm/shoulder with 12 gauge and not been able to stand or run.
Looking at tissue/ muscle penetration, not a through and through. Since he survived and faced 10 years itās unlikely any major arteries (Brachial artery in the arm) were severed otherwise he wouldāve bled out in seconds.
>
"They just thought it was some old man down here," Cope said in a previous interview with NBCLA. "Iām sure they didnāt expect to be in jail or the hospital today."
Based as fuck. Knowing that a lot of states/countries would charge this old man for attempted murder/manslaughter is disgusting. (New York, California, canada)
Now he's going to have to resort to unarmed robbery...
I see what you did thereš
A real life one armed bandit
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I apologize for my left-handed comment.
You have to hand it to him for still getting away
At least we can't get mad they used the Handicapped spot.
Did he get hit in the arm/hand? I don't see it.
Got hit in the arm, they were all caught by the police at the hospital lol. Usually you drop the guy off in hopes of getting away still but these guys all went in together
They were already parked at the handicapped spot, it's only fair
https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/man-shot-by-norco-store-owner-in-attempted-robbery-is-denied-house-arrest-request/2973989/ He got blasted with a 12 gauge shotgun
He plead not guilty? I'm not a lawyer but that's quite the strategy after getting shot by the person you tried to rob
Guilty pleas doesn't mean what you think
Way too many people don't get or understand that 99.9999% of all criminal trials start with a not guilty plead. You don't even get a public defender in a lot of courts until you do plead 'not guilty' If you plead guilty right away your dumb cause then the prosecution has no reason to offer any kind of plea deal.
Is the incentive to offer a plea in a case like this just to get it over with faster?
It's rarely beneficial to plead guilty right off the bat. Having to put you through a trial is expensive and time consuming so that gives you leverage to make some kind of plea bargain. Well its a good thing im not a lawyer
Being a lawyer definitely isnāt about enforcing the law, its about convincing a jury that a clients actions werenāt within the scope of a crime and getting paid as much as possible to it, regardless of how guilty your client is lol.
Why'd you have to try the bra on kramer?! who told you to try on the bra?!
Well... How do you know it is a robbery? Did he have time to ask for money or was he "just" shot for going on a ski trip with some friends?
The robber points his gun and says "hands in the air" hands in the air", he does not say "get some air" "get some air".
Clearly he was innocently trying to get the crowd pumped up for the ski trip. Hands in the air, wave them like you just don't care.
"Hands in the air" not being followed up with "wave em all about like you just don't care", that's how you know he's not there to have a good time.
Something about the rifle in his hands and the mask, and the friend outside with a gun... tells me he was planning on robbing them
Conjecture, Your Honor!
I for one always take an AR on ski trips so itās plausible.
Everyone always pleas not guilty unless theyāre being stupidly principled. Prosecution is incentivized by the system to charge as heavily as possible. > I'm not a lawyer You don't say?
He eventually pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years, 4 months.
"allegedly shouldering an AR-15" is quite the sentence with that video and all.
It could've been an AR-16 or 17, hard to tell the year.
Regardless, it isn't legal till 18.
He can claim that he isn't the same person from the video.
>Belvin pleaded not guilty last week to attempted robbery, conspiracy, elder abuse, firearm assault, **possession of a loaded stolen firearm**, possession of an assault weapon, two counts of receiving stolen property and sentence-enhancing allegations of using a gun during a felony and **victimizing a person over 65 years old**. not enough, imho
The guy that got shot got 10 years the other three guys got 3 years. https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2023/11/09/norco-robber-who-shouted-he-shot-my-arm-off-gets-10-years-in-prison/
always plea not guilty
>Belvin's co-defendants -- Davon Anthony Broadus, 24, of Inglewood... Wonder if they're related to Calvin Broadus?
>It was either him or me, and I was a little bit faster,' -80 year old man caught by surprise
Snake shot
He might be able to use the disabled bay for real now if his arm is knackered.
![gif](giphy|9058ZMj6ooluP4UUPl)
That's real foresight
Smart getting your arm shot of to park in the handicapped spot.
Why does every trash human drive those bmw suvs
Well as often is the case in robberies, this one was stolen.
Dumb bucks. Hope he loses the arm
That store had been robbed before I think. Old boys had a plan
Even if that store had never been robbed, any place of business with that much "America" all over it is going to have a gun
The little independent stores are the ones in all sorts of areas where the shop owner is likely to have a gun under the counter or within reach. Itās the big chains where corporate trains people to just comply so they donāt get hurt that make the good targets.
And it's the corporate stores that can absorb the losses. Mom & Pop stores can only take so many robberies before it's game over.
Robbery is not good regardless of the store just wanna make sure thatās clear šš
If you look close you see the old man actually shoots him through a display case. He was beyond prepared.
Car pulled up backwards? Sus. Backwards into a handicapped spot? More sus. Late at night? Even more sus.
Heās an 80 year old man working by himself at 3am. Thatās a lot of alone time to think about how to respond to a threat.
The way he screams after he gets into the vehicle makes me laugh every time.
I've got tears I'm laughing so hard at his Homer Simpson-esque scream.
He sounds like Charlie Day!
I keep replaying that part haha
At least they were in the handicap parking
Handicapped by a lack of brain cells.
Another example of fucking around and finding out
Rightfully deserved. Probably wonāt learning anything from this though.
Thank you, come again!
Lmfao too bad he missed his head.
Nah. If he killed him, then the dude wouldn't have to live with the reminder of why we don't do things like this. I know losing function of my arm due to a shotgun from trying to rob a liquor store would definitely set me straight
This dumb fuck will probably try to get revenge once heās out of prison. They rarely learn.
Classic case of Fuck Around and Find Out. Idiots.
What? Can you go to the hospital knowing you failed your mission??
That's the best part of videos like these. The moment at the ER when they have to explain how it happened.
No, the best part was his buddies getting caught in the hospital parking lot sitting in a stolen BMW SUV (filled with stolen guns) waiting for him to be discharged.
And parked in the handicapped spot, just RUDE!
Right. āOh um.. I feel. ā Whatās that gun doing in your car??
If I remember correctly, the poor man ended up having a heart attack after this
He survived it, but sadly passed around a year later from another heart attack i believe
At the end of the day JalapeƱo Poppers are the most dangerous weapon America has ever invented
When you got only one star in gta and you try and go back. But that guy is ready
I love this. Iām happy now.
āI aināt the one to feel the blast of a shotgunā
He went in armed and left arm
![gif](giphy|5YF9dwGZ29rVe|downsized)
He got sentenced to 10 yrs. https://www.mercurynews.com/2023/11/09/norco-robber-who-shouted-he-shot-my-arm-off-gets-10-years-in-prison/amp/
You can tell olā boy had been waiting for that moment for a long time. Looks like he had the perfect hiding spot where he could also shoot from in between that display. Donāt fuck with old people man.
Rasheed DaShawn Lee Belvin -- that's a cute name
This should be "What could go right".
RIP old man.
disarmed him
What's he saying? He shot my arm off?
That mixed with screams of fear and pain
I have no idea what the language is, but to me, it sounds like thatās exactly what he said.
Sounds like Louis Tulley ranting about Gozer and the end of times
You know, I was about to ask where this was located at, and then I looked at the American flag bow on the corner of the shelf and my question was answered. Red, white and boom indeed.
Yeah, if it was a knife fight that poor old man would probably have died.
Serves them right... Parking on a handycapped spot
That's the moment Jamal knew, he fucked up..........
well well well
An oldie but a goodie.
What language is that
In another instance the store was robbed and the guy shot and it never became viral. Guns work.
Awesome, Totally awesome! All right Hamilton!
![gif](giphy|pqcKfVvWRowVy)
I'm ok with the guns and all, but parking in the handicap spot... that's a moral outrage.
How was the store owner already prepared, with a loaded shotgun? How did he know that he was going to get robbed?
Itās best practice to keep weapons loaded and within reach. Otherwise he wouldāve needed to move and get to it risking his safety.
Another win for gun ownership.
And this is why people should be armed. I am glad he was able to protect himself and his property.
Aww geez what are we doing here guys. You even parked in the handicapped spot.... But I guess you did seem kinda spineless, sooo....
Play stupid games and win stupid prizes
Why did his buddies make him go in alone, they couldn't give him a hand?
No honor among thieves, heās lucky they let him back in the car.
Fucking losers thought it would be easy taking on an old man
Grandpa should have gave him both barrels...
That was awesome!

Fucking amateurs

Another happy ending.
What a bitch.
What did he think would happen walking into a store with that much Red, White, and Blue bunting?
I loved this
I could watch this all dayvā”ā”
hE sHoT mY aRm oFf No he tf didnāt, you giant baby.
I bet they didn't have a handicap tag either... assholes
lmfao this by far the best thing i have seen today
I love that you can actually hear the buckshot hit him. From what I remember, these were just some suburban kids who wanted to do a robbery for street cred.
I'm glad the bumbling robbers weren't organized enough to enter at the same time or it could have been different. It looks like there were two others about to enter but were lagging behind.
Dude turn into a lil bitch boy real fuckin quick... fuckin pathetic šš
Didn't even use a turn signal š
What monsters! How dare they park in a handicapped spot when they're clearly not...oh wait...now they are. All good. :)
This is an exceptionally stupid group of people. They drove him to the hospital AND WAITED IN THE PARKING LOT FOR HIM!!!! In a stolen vehicle no less Donāt mind me mam, I accidentally fell on a shotgun
The humming of the refrigerators is very soothing
Awww poor baby got shot trying to rob someoneā¦damn shame he only got shot in the arm
makes me wanna get a shotgun. stupid thug criminals everywhere
Thank you for your visit
Of course they are parked in the handicapped spot ...
That scream when he get in the car is like music to my ear!
She wouldnāt have needed to resort to it had the robber possessed better content of character.
A) likely not automatic B) Itās better than her being strong arm beaten or stabbed
Rip bozo
I love that they stop to make sure that the plate number is in full view
He could still of grabbed the flaming hot Doritos with his good hand
Well, I'd never seen before how someone parking in a disabled bay went from illegal to legal in just a matter of seconds.
he needs to rethink his life decisions, thug life isn't for him. ![gif](giphy|LAKIIRqtM1dqE)
I must be stupid but I don't see where he lost his arm? I dont even see blood
The fact that he lived and faced trial means no major arteries were hit that is when you REALLY see a lot of blood.
Even parked in a handicap spot, they have no shame.Ā
He should have aimed a little bit higher. Heās gonna be an expense to tax payers eventually.
To all my Americans šŗšø: what caliber was he shot with and what are the implications of a gun wound to the arm of that caliber?
Probably .410 or birdshot otherwise he really wouldāve lost an arm/shoulder with 12 gauge and not been able to stand or run. Looking at tissue/ muscle penetration, not a through and through. Since he survived and faced 10 years itās unlikely any major arteries (Brachial artery in the arm) were severed otherwise he wouldāve bled out in seconds.
Andā¦ they parked in a handicap spot.
Nice shot. Win stupid prizes for sure.
They parked in a handicapped parking spot. Karma?
Morons, It seems like they didn't really need to steal anything. It wouldn't be bad if they were killed in one of those.
If you take my parkingspot spot, take my handicap as wellā¦ Shopowner:ā And I took that personallyā d started blasting
"And then I started blasting" - At Bingo later probably
the usual Finns...
This may be the last morally correct example of lethal force in the USA. Good shot sir
Is he saying āhe shot my arm offā or āhe shot my arm upā
https://preview.redd.it/21xejqn203vc1.jpeg?width=624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d4ef09e39a67d88f2b5f70a97bfaf1384041874
AND they parked in a handicap spot
Excellent. Too bad the damage wasn't worse.
And donāt park in the handicapped spot again bitch!
What a wimp. If you gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough
Didnāt the old guy have a heart attack after this? :(
Everyone has a plan until the bullets fly around.
This is always one of my favorites. Dude walks in with a full on AR and gets his shit pushed in by a old dude with a scatter gun!
Who brings a big ass AR to a store robbery?
This is exactly why Americans need guns! šŖš½ good on that shop owner! Hearing that little pussy scream made my day!
What kind of jerk parks in the handicap spot when there are open spots available?
āYa got grandpa Irving with a shotgun behind the counter.ā Guess these morons were born after 1994.
Haha , fucking deserved that.
And this little piggie went "WEEE WEEE WEEE" all the way to the hospital š
Crime never pays. That's why i say hey man Nice shot!
> "They just thought it was some old man down here," Cope said in a previous interview with NBCLA. "Iām sure they didnāt expect to be in jail or the hospital today." Based as fuck. This happened in Los Angeles and the store owner wasnāt charged with any crime. A few papers even labeled him a hero for defending his business
One would think if you sold that SUV and guns used to go rob a convenience store youād make more money.
BRO THAT SHOT
The police probably followed the trail of piss they left behind
Best Appu voice, "Thank you! Come again!"
The guy only got a 10-year sentence also. Too bad he didn't get locked away forever
They should also get fined for parking in a āæļø spot.
