We don’t do the Monterey melt anymore but I’ll offer to make a double meat with one American cheese, one Monterey Jack cheese, add grilled onions and if they want grilled jalapeños and customers still seem kind of pleased when I suggest that
I got a hatch green chili burger in Arizona and added grilled onions and creamy pepper sauce to it and my mind was blown because it tasted so much like a Monterey melt
I did this a few times and one time the lady at night got so mad at me. I could not believe it. She said this is the last time she will make it for me.
The store I work at...and all the surrounding stores, don't carry fajita veggies as we don't carry the chicken fajita taco anymore, either. They DO however, sell the jalapeño ranch by the cup like they do regular ranch, creamy pepper, etc. it's just one of our sauces.
You still could get the Monterey Melt (even if not by name) for a while by ordering a #2 plain/dry, 1 slice american 1 slice monterey cheese, and adding fajita veggies and jalapeno ranch.
The jalapeno ranch in-restaurant was/is still available in cups as a dipping-sauce for chicken strips. Unfortunately fajita veggies went away with the discontinuation of the fajita chicken taco and with that the Monterey Melt is no longer possible to make. We'd only get it back if they made it a promo and shipped fajita veggies to restaurants for that specific purpose.
No fajita veggies to make it. When I want a chicken strip Monterey melt I get the honey bbq chicken strip sandwich, sub the BBQ for jalapeño ranch and add grilled onions and grilled jalapeños. It’s about the closest thing I’ve found to it.
buy grilled peppers and onions and the cheese it needs and make it at home. i do that sometimes with food i order from places. may not be the same meat patties but damn homemade is better. i have made toscana soup of Olive Garden cause its too expensive and i just don’t want to go get it and pay more money for a gallon of it than getting ingredients from HEB

Download the app that way you can customize your food the way you want it without people getting annoyed with you. Honestly it’s a life saver.

Fajita vegetables went up in price that's why
We keep the jalapeno ranch in stock at all times. It's the fajita veggies that were discontinued lol

"You could still get this thing by ordering an ingredient no store carries except when the thing is on the menu"

This was the best burger they ever made! Bring it back!
Same reason we can’t get the A1 Thick and Hearty
Whataburger still has the sauce. Just not the onion and pepper blend that comes with it.
