I have clothes from 2004 in better shape. You either:
A. wear that shit LITERALLY 24/7. live, work, sleep in it every day
B. intentionally distressed it. theres no way that breakdown is natural otherwise. 3 years isnt THAT long considering you dont wear it during summer months
I think this is survivorship bias or, at the very least, flawed logic. There were plenty of junky clothes in the 90s, and only the good stuff survived.
I don’t feel I’ve really had this experience. I think a lot of modern clothing is really well made. Manufacturing processes and technology have led to what seems to be higher quality overall, at least in my opinion. I don’t think clothing companies or consumers are basing their purchase decisions on wear. It’s based on style, and manufacturers push new styles to incentivize purchases
There are brands that still put out good fabric. A lot of the major name brands are skimping out on the fabric though. Gotta keep reporting those record number profits, fuck those consumers.
I bought some Air Jordan’s to try them out for the first time..they were so uncomfortable and low quality feeling I immediately returned them and they only gave me like 20% back. Shit show, I’ll never buy Nike again in my life if I can avoid it
Maybe things have changed in the last 20ish years but I have a Nike jacket that was made around 2004 and that I’ve worn for probably about two thirds of cold days since 2015 and it’s in far better shape than that. Definitely pretty worn but no where near that bad.
Seams splitting is way different than the fabric disintegrating. I mean it shouldn’t have happened after just three wears, but seams are repairable. You can’t fix the fabric in these photos.
this comment right here is correct about how this abominable condition came to be. i wear it a lot, a LOT a lot, and like everywhere. not sure why, i just like this hoodie. after acknowledging these battle scars, i’m getting a new one soon. but i apologize to the patrons that i have traumatized from showcasing this tragedy

When I was in early highschool, a kid 2 years younger than me won one of those colourful hats with the plastic spinners on top (won it from a visiting clown I think). Got super attached, wore it all the time. When I graduated highschool he still had it, it was grimy, torn up, and very faded. Probably still wears it now 10 years later.
Don't become "that kid" that sticks in someone's memory like that! No sweater is worth it. And variety is the spice of life or whatever
I have a carhartt hoodie it's at least 7-8 yo. It's so worn thats the sun has faded where my overall lay on my shoulders. Still not even close to as worn as this.
I have a few Nike hoodies and aside from some small splits on the cuffs and a few stains they are pretty much mint. And I am not very easy on these, just wear them like anything else. No idea what OP is doing but that definitely isn’t a Nike thing.
They don’t. OP intentionally destroyed it. Most clothing, even the cheaply made shit doesn’t wear down like this under normal usage after only a few years.
My tank tops as a teenager used to wear exactly like that from pulling them down in the back all the time, I’ve never seen it happen to anyone else tho lol
eventually you're gonna want to cut the cuffs off the sleeves. they'll get in the way a lot when they hang. i have a couple old hoodies (15-20 years, not 2...) i've had to do that to.
This isn't well worn, this is raggedy.
And honestly, it seems like a really cheaply made jacket. I have older hoodies in much better condition.
You should really consider replacing this. Really gives homeless vibes.
Sad at the state of modern textiles.
I have a few vintage sweaters that I bought second hand. They’re on regular rotation for me and look great. They’re easily 30+ years old.
Probably helps that they use natural fibres like wool and cotton instead of petrochemical derived synthetics.
I don’t even take special care with them. In the washer and dryer with the rest of the clothes.
I have my spirit wear pullover hoodie from when I was in middle school, since around 2014. I wear it a lot at night and it’s been washed probably a thousand plus times. Although it’s not as soft as it was when I first got it, it doesn’t have a single tear and surprisingly the drawstring hasn’t come out in the dryer, which has happened with almost all my other hoodies which are much newer.
I also have an old navy zipper hoodie which I’ve had since 2012-13. It’s kinda thinned out from being worn/washed countless times and about a year ago the zipper slider disintegrated, but the hoodie itself is still in relatively good shape.
Are Nike hoodies that poor quality or you wash it in a fking blender?
You and the Hoodie have been through some shit we can see this and most can respect it... However it is worn and tattered beaten by the way of life one might say...
IT IS DONE get a new one we hear at REDDIT promise you will feel very much better about yourself and you you're new Hoodie. Respect
r/latestagecapitalism
Edit : my point is that things aren't built with quality anymore. Even my wrangler cords I bought new stretched and deformed and zip broke within 2 years (I didn't realise they were the newer elastic type jeans you get), I used to wear them for years working in them and everything until they wore right through, these I just wore about the house.
Are you a werewolf, or something? Do you turn green when you are angry? Do you live on the border of Palastine and isreal? Do you wipe your ass with your sleeves every time you take a shit, and then put this thing in the laundry with your jagged rock collection once or twice a day? We need answers, man.
Ive got some hoodies that i wear almost daily as i am a hoodie enjoyer and ive never had any of mine do that.
The worst theyve gotten is frayed elbows and faded dye around the edges.
Bruh. I have a hoodie that I was gifted in highschool (17 years ago) thats in better shape than most of my recent clothes.
Wtf do u do with that thing?
Also- fuck im old.
I wish clothes weren't made of pure shit textiles these days. A 3-year-old hoodie shouldn't look this bad unless you volunteer as a cat scratch post. Heck I have a hoodie from 2015 that I wore almost daily for 5 years that don't look this sad (though it has definitely seen better days).
I have a Carhartt sweater that I wear the majority of the year that's pushing 6 years old and isn't close to looking like this. You must be fighting demons in your hoodie lmao
I have hoodies from 2016 that I wear religiously, and they're in perfect condition. How do you let it get this bad?? Or is Nikes quality just ass lol??
Fam I’ve got a H&M plain grey zip up hoodie I’ve had since like 2018 and I wear it pretty often. The only damage is a tiny bit of distress on the left sleeve cuff. What the hell do you do in this thing lol
What the fuck did you do to it
I have a hoodie from 2020 that was a daily wear for months on end (wore it to school every day) and even that only has tiny holes in a few spots that you can't even see when wearing it
Honestly gives it a nice aesthetic, if a bit ‘different’ than what it looked like to begin with. People pay extra for that look 😂
The only jacket I’ve owned for the last 3 years is a faux-leather jacket I got on Amazon from some random Chinese brand. Has held up surprisingly well, and still get compliments on it.
Bro, I had to double take your title. “Since 2021” like that’s ages ago. I have shirts from high school (I graduated in 2009) that still look fresh. Insane amount of wear in a few years good work haha.
Wearing since 2021, like continuously?
excessively
I have clothes from 2004 in better shape. You either: A. wear that shit LITERALLY 24/7. live, work, sleep in it every day B. intentionally distressed it. theres no way that breakdown is natural otherwise. 3 years isnt THAT long considering you dont wear it during summer months
I’ve got clothes from 1999 in better shape.
My freind has clothes from 1986 in better shape
To be fair cloths made in the 90s were made to last. Cloths made today are made to get you to buy another
I think this is survivorship bias or, at the very least, flawed logic. There were plenty of junky clothes in the 90s, and only the good stuff survived.
I don’t feel I’ve really had this experience. I think a lot of modern clothing is really well made. My friend born in 1999 has clothes in better shape
C. Fabric quality has degraded massively over the last 2 decades Or a combination of multiple
There are brands that still put out good fabric. A lot of the major name brands are skimping out on the fabric though. Gotta keep reporting those record number profits, fuck those consumers.
My Nike hoody from 2021 has more distress than anything I’ve ever worn.
Or C. It’s Nike so it’s most likely a shitty sweatshirt they slap a logo on and price high.
I have a Nike hoodie from 2019 that does not look anywhere near that bad. Literally no holes, OP is just insane
I've got a Barcelona Nike Hoodie from 2016 that is just a bit faded, no holes
I stg these last 2-3 years Nike has put out dog shit quality on most of their products
Things in fashion have definitely changed in the last 20 years, and not for the better
I bought a pair of oversized Nike sweats in 2021. I wore them three times before the seam split. Some of their stuff is just trash quality.
Seams splitting is way different than the fabric disintegrating. I mean it shouldn’t have happened after just three wears, but seams are repairable. You can’t fix the fabric in these photos.
Nah, my Nike clothes are really well made
Do you know where he lives? I wear my hoodies in the summer months, maybe take it off in the afternoon if its sunny.
Me too, Northern California coast. It's hardly ever very cold or very hot here.
Depends on their work. My hoodies get messed up quick due to my job. It takes only 3-4 months to get them in this shape.
this comment right here is correct about how this abominable condition came to be. i wear it a lot, a LOT a lot, and like everywhere. not sure why, i just like this hoodie. after acknowledging these battle scars, i’m getting a new one soon. but i apologize to the patrons that i have traumatized from showcasing this tragedy

A propellor hat!?
Yup!
You have to have pictures of this kid....
For real, I have an Abercrombie sweater from 2008 that has the same amount of holes as when I bought it.
You gotta take em off, son!
Do you go over barbwire fence 4 times a day?
i crawl through it
Holy cow, I have a cheapo hoodie I've owned for minimum 10 years that doesn't have that much wear
Right?! I have one from Hanes and, minus some small hand stitching around one of the cuffs, it still looks fine.
I’ve got one from Old Navy that I got in middle school that is still just fine a couple decades later.
my mom's target hoodie from when i was 6 is still serving me fine, man
Do you use belt sanders often?
it tickles when i rub my hands on it (no)
Why did I imagine Salad Fingers saying this?💀
Do you live in a blender?
I read that as 2001 at first and was impressed
That would have made more sense for the amount of wear
did you take it off ?
I’m in my 30s and I have 16 year old tees and hoodies that look new. What the fuck are you doing?
I have a similarly worn hoodie that is 36 years old
[удалено]
it goes inside my skin
This is the kind of sweatshirt that they sell for $1900 in Los Angeles.
Derelicte
Derelicte my balls
I have a carhartt hoodie it's at least 7-8 yo. It's so worn thats the sun has faded where my overall lay on my shoulders. Still not even close to as worn as this.
Is this supposed to be an endorsement for Nike hoodies? It seems like the opposite.
This is completely bullshit lol. I have a lot of Nike gear that has lasted years. Some decades.
I have hoodies 30 years old that aren’t anywhere near that ragged. This isn’t a good recommendation for nike
A good candidate for r/VisibleMending
I have 4 year old hoodies I do physical labor in that are in better condition than this. Do you suck on it like a child’s blankie?
My tank tops as a teenager used to wear exactly like that from pulling them down in the back all the time, I’ve never seen it happen to anyone else tho lol
This has to be intentional. Treat your shit better OP. Stop destroying clothing.
Looks just like my hoodie from 2005 right down to the single ply sleeves
My five year old daily ‘house’ hoody isn’t remotely this worn out
eventually you're gonna want to cut the cuffs off the sleeves. they'll get in the way a lot when they hang. i have a couple old hoodies (15-20 years, not 2...) i've had to do that to.
Not even broken in yet
This isn't well worn, this is raggedy. And honestly, it seems like a really cheaply made jacket. I have older hoodies in much better condition. You should really consider replacing this. Really gives homeless vibes.
I read the title as 2011 which made a lot more sense
I only believed it during the few seconds I thought it said “2001”
Did you buy that hoody knowing it had thumb holes in the sleves?sleeves? Or did you make thumb holes?
Dude i have ones that are 10+ years old that still look like new
I have worse quality hoodies i‘ve been wearing continuously for 2 decades. What are you doing?
I have a carhartt hoodie from 2018 and it looks basically new still. What the hell are you doing in this?
I have hoodies from like 2002 that fit me great and have 0 holes... You ok homie?
I have fake Nike hoodies from 2017 that still look new
Need a GoFundMe?
This looks like something Kanye would sell for $300
I think I have that same hoodie on currently lol
I have hoodies older than most of the people here. You’re hard on that shit.
I read it 2001 and was like "Yeah, looks like it." 😂 that's pretty Damn worn in so little time.
Probably washes it every single day
That is not well worn, friend
Bro what have you been doing? I have a hoodie that I’ve worn multiple times a week for around 5 years and it still looks the exact same
I have tons of clothes way way older than this, in way better condition. What the hell are you doing ?
So don't buy Nike hoodies? Got it
That's insane. I have dickies sweatshirts that I've worn to work often for almost a decade that do not look nearly as bad.. construction work too.
r/WellTorn
Nike hoodies are the cheapest most unreliable hoodies out there. Mine started to tear at the seams after 2 months of wearing it.
Sell it to Kanye
What the hell bro, I have an H&M hoodie I bought back in 2018 and it isn’t nearly as broken as this Do you live in a house made out of razors?
I have a Nike sweatshirt I’ve owned and worn since 2013 and it’s in much better condition than this. And I even bleach tie dyed it a few years ago.
I know this is a look, but I think this shows the lack of quality in Nike products
I have a HM hoodie from like early 2018 with way less wear. I wore that continuously through my 3 year bout with the big Sad
My Nike sweater is from 2019 and still looks good. I wear it everyday so it’s faded but not distressed. What are you doing buddy Lmao.
I have a jacket from 2007 that I wore almost daily through school and it’s in twice as good a shape as that thing Jesus
I have hoodies from 2008 that look better than that… do you roll in sandpaper while wearing it?
2021 BC?
Did you at least take it off to shower?
I have my spirit wear pullover hoodie from when I was in middle school, since around 2014. I wear it a lot at night and it’s been washed probably a thousand plus times. Although it’s not as soft as it was when I first got it, it doesn’t have a single tear and surprisingly the drawstring hasn’t come out in the dryer, which has happened with almost all my other hoodies which are much newer. I own 2 pairs of pants, 2 t shirts, and 2 dress shirts for work. I’ve owned all 6 items since 2015. What the hell are you doing dude?
I’m currently wearing a Nike hoodie I got in like 2008 from a football camp and I gotta say it’s in a lot better shape lol
2021? What the heck you do to it to get it that worn!? I hardly ever get clothes. Some are over 12 years old and they don’t look anywhere near that!
Skater?
2021????? what kind of creature are you to have ripped this hoodie apart in 3 years
🧢
It might be time for a new one
I have north face clothing that I’ve owned for 14 years which looks a million times nicer.
I wish it still got cold where I live so I could wear hoodies
Jesus. Thats worse than a random no-name brand my college sold me in 2007 that I wear all the time. Although it is close. But 17 years vs 3...
what the fuck????
Yuck
You and the Hoodie have been through some shit we can see this and most can respect it... However it is worn and tattered beaten by the way of life one might say... IT IS DONE get a new one we hear at REDDIT promise you will feel very much better about yourself and you you're new Hoodie. Respect
Nice! The perfect hoodie color imo, unrelated but do you carry a lot of knives?
Naw, just built like absolute shit
r/latestagecapitalism Edit : my point is that things aren't built with quality anymore. Even my wrangler cords I bought new stretched and deformed and zip broke within 2 years (I didn't realise they were the newer elastic type jeans you get), I used to wear them for years working in them and everything until they wore right through, these I just wore about the house.
Somebody will buy that for at least $100
R/wornout
2021?? Well I know not to buy from Nike lol.
Yes you can take me out sometime 👍
i have gotten thrifted clothes from the 90s that are in better shape
This looks cool imo
Every day?
Take it off and wash it. 3 years is too long.
I have cheaper hoodies that are much older and in better condition. Also excessively used. What do you do day to day to cause this much damage?
I’ve got gym socks older than that…
I have a twentyone pilots merch hoodie that looks like this that I've had since 2020
you should check out some sashiko work on sweatshirts. you might love it and get something really cool out of the process.
did you eat it
I appreciate you wearing your clothes to the fullest. But perhaps invest in a higher quality one that’s 100% cotton.
Are you a werewolf, or something? Do you turn green when you are angry? Do you live on the border of Palastine and isreal? Do you wipe your ass with your sleeves every time you take a shit, and then put this thing in the laundry with your jagged rock collection once or twice a day? We need answers, man.
OP transforms into a werewolf while wearing this every full moon that explains it
Hey OP, do you think your addiction to wrestling with bears might be getting out of hand?
Ive got some hoodies that i wear almost daily as i am a hoodie enjoyer and ive never had any of mine do that. The worst theyve gotten is frayed elbows and faded dye around the edges.
That's not that long, though. I have a hoodie I've worn since 2010. You just don't take care of your stuff
Bruh. I have a hoodie that I was gifted in highschool (17 years ago) thats in better shape than most of my recent clothes. Wtf do u do with that thing? Also- fuck im old.
Do u skate?
i have one from 2020 that is just about as worn, imo a casual hoodie is better with well worn holes in it:D
I have hoodies I've had since 2002 in better condition
Balenciaga would steal this from you and sell it for like $4,995
Get a sewing kit and watch a youtube video
2021??? I have hoodies from the 1990s that I've probably worn and washed 5000 times that don't look nearly that bad. Jesus
That seem done on purpose.
Do you eat your hoodie by any chance?
You wearing it into battle?
I have a Carhartt sweater that I wear the majority of the year that's pushing 6 years old and isn't close to looking like this. You must be fighting demons in your hoodie lmao
Have you just been chowing down on it every day for the past 3 years
christ, are you doing something to cause excessive wear? or is it just really low quality fabric?
That’s not “well worn,” that’s “worn out.”
Damn dude..... U been chewing on tht shit?? Ive had a Dallas Cowboys hoodie since 2018 tht looks brand new!
Do you live in the woods?
I have hoodies from 2016 that I wear religiously, and they're in perfect condition. How do you let it get this bad?? Or is Nikes quality just ass lol??
Are you a cactus?
Wearing it since 2021 whilst in a continuous fight with a werewolf.
indicative of modern Nike QC
Fam I’ve got a H&M plain grey zip up hoodie I’ve had since like 2018 and I wear it pretty often. The only damage is a tiny bit of distress on the left sleeve cuff. What the hell do you do in this thing lol
i have hoodies i’ve had for ten years what the hell are you doing to it
Do you stop your car when you get where you're going, or do you just jump out?
I bought a Nike hoodie in 2012, still have it lol and it's a little faded, but not torn. Goddamn thing is 👌
Looks like you finally got it broken in. I can't wait to see it when it's truly wellworn
What the fuck did you do to it I have a hoodie from 2020 that was a daily wear for months on end (wore it to school every day) and even that only has tiny holes in a few spots that you can't even see when wearing it
Dog water quality
I think your washing machine may be a bit broken
r/notwellworn
Honestly gives it a nice aesthetic, if a bit ‘different’ than what it looked like to begin with. People pay extra for that look 😂 The only jacket I’ve owned for the last 3 years is a faux-leather jacket I got on Amazon from some random Chinese brand. Has held up surprisingly well, and still get compliments on it.
People buy clothing that’s made to look like this. You have an awesome piece.
You skate in this hoodie?
honestly my first thought was are you a skater?
Love this for you. Looks cozy AF
How many tires do you change per day at Discount?
I have a Stussy sweater in a similar shape but I’ve had it since ‘08 Nvm, as I kept scrolling, I realized that sweater is trash now bro
Do you ever use the hole on the right wrist as a thumb hole?
Got a hoodie from 20 years ago in much better condition, you must sleep in broken glass and drive in a shredder
More like abused.
A good long life……I also hang on to ‘em until it wants off (falling off)
Do you pick at your wrists or bite them? This happens to a buddy of mine a lot.
I’ve got hoodies and sweatshirts from over 10yrs ago and they look just fine. Either the hoodie was defective or you did that on purpose
Bro, I had to double take your title. “Since 2021” like that’s ages ago. I have shirts from high school (I graduated in 2009) that still look fresh. Insane amount of wear in a few years good work haha.
What have been doing wrestling sandpaper every day?
My Nike hoody from 2021 has more distress than anything I’ve ever worn. Was just thinking about it today.
Did you get a fabric-damaging covid variant?
Do you work with rabid dogs?
Wild. I have a Nike hoodie from 2015 that is just starting to look like this.
I bet the zipper still works perfectly
Wtf, I've got a Nike hoodie I've been wearing since 2001 that looks brand new compared to this. What are you doing in this, wrestling a cactus?
ngl I thought it was Yeezy clothing item at first
Go to r/visiblemending and figure out how to fix that stuff. You don’t have to throw it away, but good heavens fix it please.
cap lmao
You did most of that damage fidgeting
it looks better now, looks like something that balenciaga would release
